Jesus! And Shall It Ever Be

Romans_1-16: For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek

Jesus! And Shall It Ever Be
A Mortal Man Ashamed Of Thee,
Ashamed Of Thee, Whom Angels Praise,
Whose Glories Shine Through Endless Days?

Ashamed Of Jesus! Sooner Far
Let Evening Blush To Own A Star,
He Sheds The Beams Of Light Divine
Over This Benighted Soul Of Mine.

Ashamed Of Jesus! Just As Soon
Let Midnight Be Ashamed Of Noon;
‘Tis Midnight With My Soul Till He,
Bright Morning Star, Bid Darkness Flee.

Ashamed Of Jesus, That Dear Friend
On Whom My Hopes Of Heaven Depend!
No! When I Blush; Be This My Shame,
That I No More Revere His Name.

Ashamed Of Jesus! Yes I May
When I’ve No Guilt To Wash Away,
No Tear To Wipe, No Good To Crave,
No Fear To Quell, No Soul To Save,

Till Then-Nor Is My Boasting Vain-
Till Then I Boast A Saviour Slain,
And O May This My Glory Be,
That Christ Is Not Ashamed Of Me!
Amen!

Psalms_25-2: O my God, I trust in thee: let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me

No Church Is Perfect, But Christ Is

I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

Ephesians 4:1-3

Ephesians_2-10: For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
Ephesians_2-10: For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

Suppose a man came to your door and said, “I’m really hungry and I need a meal.” So you say, “Well, come on in!” You get out some of your dinnerware and put a big steak on a plate with a baked potato, and you lay it down right in front of him.

The man looks at what you’ve set in front of him, folds his arms, sits back, and says, “I’m not going to eat it.” So you ask him, “Why aren’t you going to eat it? You said you were hungry!” And he says, “There’s a chip on the plate and I refuse to eat off of it.” Now, wouldn’t that just be unbelievable?

Many people come to church and say, “Yes, I’m hungry for Jesus.” But they look around and find chips on the wall and chips in the lives of people. They find all sorts of things to criticize. But real hunger for the Word and for fellowship with others will look past those imperfections and see what’s perfect about the church: Jesus.

The church has flaws. There’s not a church in the world that is perfect. Yet, we serve a perfect Saviour. So if you’re not plugged into a local church, find a good, imperfect, Jesus-centred church and discover the joy of experiencing life in Christ with others!

No Church Is Perfect, But Christ Is. So Live Life Together With Imperfect People Who Serve A Perfect Saviour!

1-Corinthians_14-33: For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.

Power Of God. Dunamis

Acts_1-8: But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
Acts_1-8: But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

Power Of God. Dunamis

“But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth”

Acts 1:8
Jesus Said You Shall Receive Power After The Holy Ghost Is Come Upon You. In The Greek Rendering, The Word Translated “Power” Is ‘Dunamis’. So What Jesus Actually Said Was “And You Shall Receive Dunamis After That The Holy Ghost Is Come Upon You.” What Is Dunamis? It’s A Special Kind Of Power. It’s Inherent Power That Functions Like A Dynamo. The Word “Dynamo” Comes From A Greek Word “Dunamis” That’s Where The English Word “Dynamite” A Powerful Explosive, Is Derived From As Well. Knowing How A Dynamo Functions Will Help Us Understand What Dunamis Is. That Will In Turn Tell Us What Jesus Meant When He Said, “Ye Shall Receive Dunamis.

A Dynamo Is A Special Kind Of Machine. You Get It Started Mechanically, Either By Turning A Knob Or Pushing A Button. When It Starts, It Produces Electrical Power And Then Converts Some Of That Electrical Power Back Into Mechanical Power To Cause The Machine To Go On And Produce More Electrical Power. It Doesn’t Need Help From Anywhere; It’s A Self-Converter! It Has In-Built Ability To Convert Mechanical Power To Electrical Power And Vice Versa. It Just Keep Going On Without Any External Help. So When Jesus Said, “You Shall Receive Dunamis” He Meant, “You Shall Receive Inherent Power Of God That Functions Like Dynamo!” That’s What You Got When You Receive The Holy Spirit. You Receive The Inherent Dynamic Ability Of God To Cause Changes. That Power Is Independent Of Any Other Power But God.

This Power Resides In You Today! You May Have Been Told That You Were Born An Asthmatic; It Doesn’t Make Any Difference Now, Because You Can Change It! Maybe You Were Born With A Deformed Heart, It Doesn’t Matter Anymore. Now That You’re Born Again And You Have The Holy Spirit In You, You Can Change Anything As You Activate That Power Within You.

Confession:
I Have Within Me The Power Of The Most High God! I Have The Inherent Dynamic Ability To Cause Changes. I Declare That I Am Able To Change Every Negative Situation, Because I Recognize The Inherent Power Of God That’s At Work In Me; I Am Full Of God’s Might And The Excellency Of This Power Is Indeed Of God!

But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.

2 Corinthians 4:7

But truly I am full of power by the spirit of the LORD, and of judgment, and of might, to declare unto Jacob his transgression, and to Israel his sin.

Micah 3:8

When all thy mercies, o my God. Hymn

Psalms_89-1-2: I will sing of the mercies of the LORD for ever: with my mouth will I make known thy faithfulness to all generations
Psalms_89-1-2: I will sing of the mercies of the LORD for ever: with my mouth will I make known thy faithfulness to all generations

When all Thy mercies, O my

God,

My rising soul surveys,

Transported with th view, I’m lost

In wonder, love and praise.

Unnumbered comforts on my

soul

Thy tender care bestowed,

Before my infant heart conceived,

From whom these comforts flowed.

When in the slippery paths of youth

With heedless steps I ran,

Thine arm, unseen, conveyed me safe,

And led me up to man.

Through hidden dangers, toils, and deaths,

It gently cleared my way,

And through the pleasing snares of vice,

More to be feared than they.

When worn with sickness oft hast Thou

With health renewed my face,

And when in sins and sorrows sunk,

Revived my soul with grace.

Ten thousand thousand

precious gifts

Mv daily thanks employ;

Nor is the least a cheerful heart

That tastes those gifts with joy.

Through every period of my life

Thy goodness I’ll pursue;

And after death, in distant worlds,

The glorious theme renew.

Through all eternity to Thee

A joyful song I’ll raise;

If But oh, eternity’s too short

To utter all Thy praise.

Benefits Of Patience. Sermon And Prayer Point By Pastor E A Adeboye

Hebrews_11-6: But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him
Hebrews_11-6: But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him

Memorise:

He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God;

Romans 4:20

Read: Genesis 17:1-5

1  And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect.

2  And I will make my covenant between me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly.

3  And Abram fell on his face: and God talked with him, saying,

4  As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations.

5  Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee.

Message

There are lots of benefits awaiting those who are patient in receiving God’s promises.

“For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside thee, what he hath prepared for him that waiteth for him.”

Isaiah 64:4

It is always to our advantage when we wait on His word. It is the only guarantee we have for securing victory, success and the breakthroughs we crave for. For so long, God wanted to enter into a covenant with Abraham, but Abraham was just not ready. It was only after 24 years of self-dependence and self-government by Abraham that God felt He was ready. There are many generational blessings that God wants to give to you. There are also many exploits that He wants you to accomplish, but as long as you are not ready to do it according to His time-table, there will always be unnecessary delays. Any time God calls for a partnership with us, He is simply looking for an opportunity to bless us. He wants to provide divine direction and turn our nothingness to something. He wants to make a message out of our mess, and He wants to bring a testimony out of our tests.

1-Corinthians_2-9: But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him
1-Corinthians_2-9: But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him

When the Lord called His disciples apart in Mark 6:30-31, it was for the purpose of waiting on Him. If you are the type always running up and down, you cannot get the best from God. Those who wait on Him in patience are usually rewarded. It is very important to wait on Him for direction in your projects, relationships and programmes. If you learn to be patient, situations and circumstances will always be within your control. In the place of waiting, there is no room for unbelief and doubt. Abraham did not stagger at God’s promises, and his faith was rewarded (Romans 4:20). Peter toiled all night without catching anything (Luke 5:3-7). The Lord decided to choose his boat for a kingdom assignment and he did not refuse or complain; he just waited for his miracle. At the end, he rejoiced. Have you been waiting on God’s promises for so long? Keep your cool. Don’t be discouraged.

If you become impatient, you may lose the benefits meant to transform your life. At the end of Peter’s waiting, his story changed. The Peter who caught nothing became the Peter who needed the assistance of others to handle the blessings of God in his life. I say to a user of this devotional, in that Name that is above every other name, your joy, blessing, breakthrough, healing and anointing will overflow to generations yet unborn. Waiting upon the promises of God requires faith. When you wait patiently on God for anything, you save time, and in the end, nothing will be lost.

Prayer Point:

Dear Lord, please continue to be my focus as I wait on You.

Day Of Favour. Sermon And Prayer Point By Pastor E A Adeboye

Psalms_5-12-1: For thou, LORD, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield.
Psalms_5-12-1: For thou, LORD, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield.

Memorise:

For thou, LORD, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield.

Psalm 5:12

Read: Esther 5:1-3

1  Now it came to pass on the third day, that Esther put on her royal apparel, and stood in the inner court of the king’s house, over against the king’s house: and the king sat upon his royal throne in the royal house, over against the gate of the house.

2  And it was so, when the king saw Esther the queen standing in the court, that she obtained favour in his sight: and the king held out to Esther the golden sceptre that was in his hand. So Esther drew near, and touched the top of the sceptre.

3  Then said the king unto her, What wilt thou, queen Esther? and what is thy request? it shall be even given thee to the half of the kingdom.

Psalms_30-5: For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.
Psalms_30-5: For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.

Message

Queen Esther found favour in the sight of the king and she was promised blessings up to one half of the kingdom. There are lots of lessons in the passage before us. First of these is that the king’s eyes located Esther. 1 Samuel 16:11-13 tells us how favour located David while he was watching over the flock of his father. Mark 5:1-15 also narrates how favour located the mad man of Gadara in the graveyard. A sister who had been looking for a husband once attended a funeral service. In attendance also was a brother who had also been looking for a wife. On seeing her, he concluded that if the sister could look that beautiful in mourning clothes, she would look awesome when in high spirits. There and then, he concluded to go after her hand in marriage. This shows that favour can locate you anywhere you are.

Pastor E A Adeboye. Daddy G O
Pastor E A Adeboye. Daddy G O

The king did not just see Esther, he focused on her. When your day of favour comes, God will not just glance at you, He will focus on you. The day favour beamed on the sick man at Bethesda, Jesus located him for healing (John 5:5-6). There was a man who had two doctorate degrees but could not get a job. When this man was brought to us he was unkempt as if he never attended school.

We introduced him to Jesus and prayed with him. Before he got to his hometown that day, favour located him and people in his local government started looking for him with several job opportunities. Another story of favour is that of a lady whose mother would not allow her to get married for fear of being neglected by her after marriage. After some words of prayer for this sister, there was deliverance. This sister had been in church for a long time, but when God’s favour located her, she suddenly got a suitor within one week. My prayer for you is that whatever is blocking the view of those who should favour you shall be removed this season in Jesus’ Name.

The only obstacle to divine favour is unrighteousness. The Bible in Psalm 5:12 says:

“For thou, LORD, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield.”

I therefore appeal to you to surrender your life to Jesus Christ, the Saviour of mankind, and begin to live a life acceptable to God for divine favour.

Prayer Point:

Father, please let Your favour locate me for breakthrough today in Jesus’ Name.

It All Begins With Your Mind. Then Don’t Sell Your Votes, Vote With A Conscience For Today And The Future

2-Timothy_1-7-1: For God has not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind
2-Timothy_1-7-1: For God has not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind

1 Samuel 17:32” And David said to Saul, Let no man’s heart fail because of him; thy servant will go and fight with this Philistine.”

A great future that doesn’t begin today will remain a mirage –  an illusion. Just as David championed the cause of a whole kingdom, I believe we can begin to effect a national change by changing our way of thinking and becoming passionate about our ideas. The positive changes we’re enjoying in the telecommunication and banking industries and other sectors of our society today were motivated by a few people who championed the cause for change in these areas.

Deuteronomy_31-6: Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.
Deuteronomy_31-6: Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.

You too can be the catalyst for a change in your sector. You don’t have to be a government official to inspire a change. Remember that it only takes a spark to light up a forest. Major social and economic changes in many nations began from an inspired mind. The revolution we seek in our nation today begins with your mind; what can you see?

Can you see a greener and cleaner Nigerian? Then stop throwing your trash just anywhere, and teach others to do the same. Can you see Nigerians full of kind and courteous communication? Then learn to speak kindly to others regardless of the provocation, and learn to be courteous. Can you see a new Nigeria with honest and upright leaders? Then don’t sell your votes, vote with a conscience for today and the future. We can have a change in our country, we can actually recreate our nation by changing our way of thinking. That’s where it starts – Your Mind.

Prayer Point:

Dear Heavenly Father! I Thank You for the inspiration that I’ve received from Your Word. Today, I receive the strength and the wisdom that I require to actively participate in the development of our great country. Thank You for raising more champions that’ll steer this nation in the direction that You’ve planned. In Jesus Christ Name, Amen!

May God Bless Nigeria, America And Israel And Take Care Of Us; May God Make His Face Shine Upon Us, And Be Gracious To Us; May The Lord Lift Up His Countenance Upon Us, And Give Us Peace, In Jesus Christ Name, We Pray! Amen!

Wonder Working Name By Pastor E A Adeboye.

Memorise:
And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
Mark 16:17

Read: Matthew 1:21-23
21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.
22 Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,
23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.

Matthew_1-21: And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins
Matthew_1-21: And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins

Message
From Mark 16:17, we understand that signs and wonders shall follow those who believe in the Name of Jesus Christ. The wonder-working power in the Name of Jesus Christ is also declared in Isaiah 9:6. Indeed the Name of Jesus is full of wonders. In Acts 3:6, Peter the apostle said that,
“…Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.”

Proverbs_18-10: The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe
Proverbs_18-10: The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe

Immediately Peter mentioned this Name, the feet and ankle bones of the lame man he was talking to received strength and he began to make progress in life – beginning with walking and later leaping. With the Name of Jesus Christ in your mouth, nothing becomes impossible for you. Those who do not believe in the Name of Jesus for salvation, either for religious or intellectual reasons, may not know what they stand to lose. The Bible says:
“The name of the Lord is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it and is safe.”
Proverbs 18:10.

This scripture reveals the secret that makes the Name of Jesus work for someone: righteousness. Only the righteousness that is obtainable through that Name can make the same Name work wonders for you. As a matter of fact, it is through this Name that we receive forgiveness of sins (Acts 10:43).

When Peter commanded the lame man to walk in the Name of Jesus, it was done immediately. By the power in that Name, Jesus, I command you to receive deliverance from all forms of oppression you have been suffering from now on. The Name of Jesus Christ is anointed (Song of Solomon 1:3). This is why the Name destroys the yokes of the devil and produces deliverance for the oppressed. A young Christian was travelling in a boat one day, and as the boat was about to capsize, he shouted that Name. Unseen hands came to his rescue. I pray that the Name of Jesus will begin to work for you as you believe and use the Name as from today in Jesus’ Name. The devil may resist anything but not the Name of Jesus Christ, because God has given Him a Name above every other name (Philippians 2:9-11).

Action Point:
Apply the Name of Jesus to any challenging situation or anything that represents a mountain in your life, and you will see it give way to the glory of God the Father.

Amen!

No Room For Laziness By Pastor E A Adeboye

Proverbs_6-6: Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise
Proverbs_6-6: Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise

Memorise:

Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise:

Proverbs 6:6

Read: 2 Thessalonians 3:6-12

6  Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh disorderly, and not after the tradition which he received of us.

7  For yourselves know how ye ought to follow us: for we behaved not ourselves disorderly among you;

8  Neither did we eat any man’s bread for nought; but wrought with labour and travail night and day, that we might not be chargeable to any of you:

9  Not because we have not power, but to make ourselves an ensample unto you to follow us.

10  For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.

11  For we hear that there are some which walk among you disorderly, working not at all, but are busybodies.

12  Now them that are such we command and exhort by our Lord Jesus Christ, that with quietness they work, and eat their own bread.

Message

If there is one truth every believer must know in this present age, it is that God hates laziness. God set an example of hard work for us through the creation of the heavens and the earth. Without the hard work of God, this world wouldn’t be a beautiful place. He did not rest until He had finished with creation. His hard work resulted in the excellence we can see in the beautiful world around us. Whenever God is looking for people to commit serious assignments to, He looks for people who will never give excuses for not delivering. He looks for hardworking people because He has no business with lazy bones. God is in search of diligent and resourceful people who will use all of their energy to ensure that the work of God suffers no loss. One of the secrets behind the success of Paul’s ministry is this: he went about winning souls with the same zeal with which he was persecuting the Church before he met Christ.

“Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise:”

Proverbs 6:6.

There are certain truths we cannot ignore from this passage. This passage is meant for those who are lazy and for those in need of wisdom. Though ants are small, there are lots of lessons that can be learnt from them. There are lessons parents can learn from their children, just as there are lessons leaders can learn from their followers. But this can only happen in the absence of pride. The more humble you are, the greater the things that will be committed to your hands, because you have learnt the secret of hard work. Through hard work, Paul achieved more than his peers. He even wrote more books of the New Testament than those who were direct disciples of Jesus Christ. The epistles he wrote are still positively affecting generations far more than you can ever imagine. Paul never gave room for excuses in the course of reaching his goals. Little wonder he emerged a great success in the early Church.

Today, I see a lot of people wasting their time. They have no goals for their lives. They are not after anything because success is not a desire for them. They are just comfortable with the normal routine of the average person, and that is why there is nothing significant about them. No performance, no achievement. Some people are so lazy that they are not consulted wherever performance is expected because people already know what to expect. May this not be your story in Jesus’ Name. Beloved, you must decide to take the path of greatness. No great thing comes easy. You must aim high even if you are starting small. You have no barrier, limitation or excuse for not achieving greatness in life. The seed of God is in you. You must say no to those things that are slowing you down from the fulfilment of your God-given destiny.

Action Point:

List out all the possible excuses for your non-performance and pray against them.

My Pastor Talks And Walks Like A Movie Star. He Enjoys The Superstar Spotlights! In His Mind He Thinks He Is Elvis Presley And Michael Jackson Perfectly Blended Together. My Pastor Is A Celebrity!

2-Timothy_3-16: All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness
2-Timothy_3-16: All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness

2 Timothy 3:16 “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:”

I have being under the tutelage of many pastors, all most all are great men and women of God, who always encourage me to pick up my “Cross” daily. Some love me unconditionally, while some give “Tough Love”. Sometimes a kick at the butt, works, to spur me into action, whenever the devil wants to mess with my true identity in Christ Jesus.

Lately, my pastor who would be like 10 years older than me talks and walks like a movie star, he enjoys the Superstar spotlights, never misses a chance to rub his successes on my face. My pastor is a local celebrity!

He particularly dislikes me (I don’t want to use the word HATE) on few occasions his actions speak loud than word. He has never missed an opportunity to rubbish me both in public and in private.

One occasion I confronted him, he said to me: “I run the show here, if you don’t like it, please leave! We won’t miss you”

I pray I will not be excommunicated from the church, when he gets to read this! God please help me! I know I am not perfect! (I should first of all remove the log of wood in my eyes before I think of removing the speck in my pastor’s eyes!

God please forgive me, in Jesus Christ Name I pray, Amen!

I abstain from every personal judgment!

My Pastor Has A Superstar Mentality And I can prove it

  1. My Diva Pastor has a huge sense of entitlement.

He thinks more highly of himself than he ought to think and believe in his heart that he deserves better treatment than any other human being (Romans 12).

Romans_12-2: And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God
Romans_12-2: And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God

  1. Because of My Pastor’s celebrity status he thinks he is above the law most times.

  1. My Superstar pastor thinks no one is qualified to speak into his life

He thinks that, since he is so spiritual and successful, he has reached a point that no one is able to speak into his life or teach him anything.

Is this person as wealthy as I am? Or do they have as many people in their parish as I do? How many real estate investments do they have? Before he even consider hearing what they have to say!

  1. My Superstar Pastor Is Super Materialistic and he knows how to play to the gallery. He is an entertainer.

My pastor does not mingle with the “poor” in his parish. They irritate him all most all the time, he is very suspicious of them.

“How much tithe and offerings do they bring to the House of The LORD?”

He visits the homes and offices of only the rich and famous among us. And he sends the junior pastors to minister to the downtrodden in his congregation.

And painfully most junior pastors have started acting and talking like my Diva Pastor!

But My Diva Pastor still prays for all that are able to meet him for prayers and counselling!! That’s still a kudos for him!

My Superstar pastor wears colourful outfits, drives few of the latest automobiles and always gives powerful sermons. Never a dull moment, whenever he climbs the altar.

To the glory of God Almighty my life has being richly blessed by his sermons, prayers, and prayer points, but very little by his personality!

  1. My Superstar Pastor does not trust anyone.

He lacks intimate relationship with anyone.

My Pastor Is A Super Diva!

In closing, this article was written in love. I still love my Diva Superstar Pastor! I just wish he would be more human in his dealings with those he considers “beneath” him.

Ecclesiastes 9:11 “I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all.”

Not every unemployed youth is a thief!

Not every unshaven, red eyed youth is a drug addict.

Poverty and hunger discolour the white pigments of the eyes!

Heaven is not for only the rich and famous, neither are churches built for them alone. I might be Mr Nobody today! But God has not yet finished with me, I could be Mr. President tomorrow!

Please Sir! Don’t forget your humble background,

Amen!

May The Grace The Lord Jesus Christ, And The Love Of God, And The Fellowship Of The Holy Spirit Be With You All. Amen!

God Surely Wouldn’t Want Us To Suffer Pain, Would He? Pain And Pain Relievers. Sometimes Our Times Of Despair Turn Out To Be A Much Needed Light Into Our Soul

James_1-12-1: Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him
James_1-12-1: Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him

“The brother in humble circumstances ought to take pride in his high position” (James 1:9).

Most of us avoid pain. We keep our medicine cabinets loaded with pain relievers. We couldn’t imagine major surgery without an anesthetic. We are so averse to pain that we think God must desire that we will experience pain-free lives. After all, a loving God surely wouldn’t want us to suffer pain, would He? Although God takes no pleasure in our pain, we have to acknowledge that He sometimes allows painful circumstances to occur in our lives in order to shape us and make us more like Christ. Sometimes our times of despair turn out to be a much needed light into our soul.

I once came across the following poem written by an anonymous Confederate soldier, a devout young man who fought in the American Civil War. The lines of this poem express the soul of a man who has learned to view his times of adversity from a different perspective:

I asked God for strength, that I might achieve;
I was made weak, that I might learn humbly to obey.
I asked God for health, that I might do greater things;
I was given infirmity, that I might do better things.
I asked for riches, that I might be happy;
I was given poverty, that I might be wise.
I asked for power, that I might have the praise of men;
I was given weakness, that I might feel the need of God.
I asked for all things, that I might enjoy life;
I was given life, that I might enjoy all things.
I got nothing that I asked for but everything I had hoped for.
Almost despite myself, my unspoken prayers were answered.
I am among men, most richly blessed.*

Do we trust God to lead us even though we can’t see the pathway in front of us? Do we trust Him to be all-knowing, all-loving, and all-powerful? Do we believe He does all things well? As Paul wrote, “Everything that does not come from faith is sin” (Rom. 14:23). That’s why God leads us through the dark places.

Only in the darkness do we learn to walk by faith.

God Resist The Proud, But Gives Grace Unto The Humble.

God Resist The Proud, But Gives Grace Unto The Humble.

…God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble. James 4:6

Rejoicing is a form of humility.
Mark Hankins

In II Samuel 6, the Ark of the Covenant was coming into Jerusalem. The Bible says when the ark came into the city, King David danced before the Lord with all of his might. The scripture says he threw off his royal robe and danced in his under clothes because of the glory that was coming back! David loved to be in the presence of God!

After he danced before the Lord, David fed the entire nation. When he went to bless his household, his wife told him that he looked like a fool. She despised him in her heart because of his response to the presence of God. David responded to her by saying, “I will yet be more vile than this. I will humble myself in the sight of the people and I will lower myself in my own sight,” verse 22.

When David was rejoicing, it was a form of humility. If you are more concerned with what people think about you than what God thinks about you, you will never walk in victory. Humble yourself in the sight of the Lord and He will lift you up!

Confession:
I will rejoice in the Lord and humble myself before Him because He resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.
