Rejection To Rejoicing

Rejection To Rejoicing.

It all begins with understanding where we find true worth: in God, not other people

Rejection came my way early in life. Socially, I was a failure in elementary school. Day after day in the cafeteria, no one talked to me. When I finished my lunch, I would plug my ears and close my eyes to shut out the children who ignored me. And at recess, kids mocked my mismatched clothes, unkempt hair, and my “really religious” family. My poor interpersonal skills only made matters worse. By the time we returned to our classroom, my face was usually blotchy from crying. I felt terribly alone. Surely no one else knew such confusion, isolation and loneliness!

The years since have taught me differently. Most people have felt excluded at one time or another. Like me, some are written off for being unusual. Others are overlooked because they lack certain abilities, physical attractiveness or social skills. And believers are persecuted for trying to live out their faith in a hostile world.

How does God expect us to handle rejection? Is it possible to experience that pain and yet maintain our confidence and peace? I believe the answer is found in examining the life of Christ.

Even nonbelievers typically recognize the important role Jesus played in history. Yet to many of His contemporaries, He was just a carpenter’s son from the country town of Galilee. Like all young men from good Jewish families, Jesus had been schooled in the faith as a boy. However, He hadn’t been groomed to be a rabbi, so in human terms, He didn’t have the most prestigious religious education. Although some saw His miracles and declared Him a prophet, others dismissed Christ’s teachings as uneducated or heretical. Who was he—a man—to claim to be God?  They thought.

That didn’t stop Jesus from challenging the religious leaders and their man-made traditions. He cleverly disarmed their arguments against His teaching. Jesus attacked the profitable animal-selling business they had set up in the temple. He stood silently and peacefully while He was accused and sentenced to crucifixion.

Why was our Saviour able to display such confidence and inner strength? I believe it’s because He never forgot who He was—God Himself. Jesus never forgot where He was headed—back to heaven. Our Lord never forgot whom He was aiming to please—His heavenly Father, not people here on earth.

But Jesus is more than a man; He’s one in essence with God Himself. Is it reasonable for us, as mere humans, to find our security in the Creator’s opinion of us as Christ did? Yes, although we will do so imperfectly. Our Helper, the Holy Spirit, can give us the power to look past the disapproval of man and see the affirmation of our heavenly Father. He teaches us to find our identity as children of God when others leave us feeling small and insignificant. The Spirit reminds us that in light of eternity, we are here for only a short time.

In the grand design of eternity, it won’t matter if people excluded us from their clique, disapproved of us, or mocked us for believing in an invisible God. What will matter is whether or not we lived obediently. When rejection feels more tangible than the affirmation of our loving, powerful God, we must choose to focus on what our Creator says about our worth.

The truth is, if you have accepted Christ’s death as payment for your sin and yielded your life to His leadership, you are fully accepted by God. You are 100 percent pleasing to Him. Even if people don’t seek your friendship, the Lord Himself awaits one-on-one time with you. Even if you remain single or your marriage grows stagnant, you are beloved by God. Even if no one else sees you as significant, He calls you part of “a royal priesthood. ” (See Rom. 10:9-10; Col. 1:22; 2 Thess. 2:13; Heb. 13:5; 1 Peter 2:9.)

In the years since elementary school, I’ve come a long way in knowing how to relate to people. Yet, I still get left out or overlooked occasionally. Even now, rejection can reduce me to tears, prompt me to question my self-worth and abilities, and hinder me from pursuing certain friendships.

But it also causes me to seek the face of the Lord with more fervour. Sooner or later, I remind myself that I am God’s precious. When I draw near to Him, even in the midst of a busy day, I sense His comforting presence. Others may belittle or ignore me, but nothing that I do for the Lord goes unnoticed in heaven. No matter how unloved I may feel, my Saviour never abandons me.

You, too, hold a special place in God’s heart. So don’t let rejection dictate how you feel about yourself. The Maker of the universe delights in you, His beloved child.

God’s Grace And Favour!

God’s Grace And Favour!

Romans 1:7

…Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

When you fly first class in an airplane, the cabin crew gives you first-class treatment. They ask you, “Is everything okay with you, sir?” They ask you what magazines you want to read. They give you a blanket if you are cold. They give you the best kinds of food. They give you preferential treatment compared to those traveling in economy class.

The grace of God is defined as “undeserved, unearned and unmerited favour”. And one of the definitions for favour is “preferential treatment”! Today, God wants you to know that you have His favour on you. He wants you to know that He gives you preferential treatment which you do not deserve. And He wants you to depend on and take full advantage of it in your life.

God also wants you to know that His favour in your life can be increased. You can experience more of His favour from day to day. How? The Bible tells us in 2 Peter 1:2 that God’s grace (or favour) is multiplied to us “in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord”. The more you behold Jesus and His love for you, the more you believe and confess that God’s favour is on you, the more you will see His favour work for you.

So If you are a businessman, you will find people just wanting to do business with you because they like you and feel good about you. Then, you will have more business than you can handle and you will need to plan for expansion!

When the favour of God shines on your church, you will find its premises too small for the people who queue up week after week to attend the services! So when people wonder and ask, “What is happening here?” you can tell them, “It is the favour of God multiplied all over us!” And it is all undeserved, unearned and unmerited!

1 Kings 4. Solomon’s officials

1 Kings 4. Solomon’s officials

1 So king Solomon was king over all Israel. 2 And these were the princes which he had; Azariah the son of Zadok the priest, 3 Elihoreph and Ahiah, the sons of Shisha, scribes; Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud, the recorder. 4 And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over the host: and Zadok and Abiathar were the priests: 5 And Azariah the son of Nathan was over the officers; and Zabud the son of Nathan was principal officer, and the king’s friend: 6 And Ahishar was over the household: and Adoniram the son of Abda was over the tribute. 7 And Solomon had twelve officers over all Israel, which provided victuals for the king and his household: each man his month in a year made provision. 8 And these are their names: The son of Hur, in mount Ephraim: 9 The son of Dekar, in Makaz, and in Shaalbim, and Bethshemesh, and Elonbethhanan: 10 The son of Hesed, in Aruboth; to him pertained Sochoh, and all the land of Hepher: 11 The son of Abinadab, in all the region of Dor; which had Taphath the daughter of Solomon to wife: 12 Baana the son of Ahilud; to him pertained Taanach and Megiddo, and all Bethshean, which is by Zartanah beneath Jezreel, from Bethshean to Abelmeholah, even unto the place that is beyond Jokneam: 13 The son of Geber, in Ramothgilead; to him pertained the towns of Jair the son of Manasseh, which are in Gilead; to him also pertained the region of Argob, which is in Bashan, threescore great cities with walls and brazen bars: 14 Ahinadab the son of Iddo had Mahanaim: 15 Ahimaaz was in Naphtali; he also took Basmath the daughter of Solomon to wife: 16 Baanah the son of Hushai was in Asher and in Aloth: 17 Jehoshaphat the son of Paruah, in Issachar: 18 Shimei the son of Elah, in Benjamin: 19 Geber the son of Uri was in the country of Gilead, in the country of Sihon king of the Amorites, and of Og king of Bashan; and he was the only officer which was in the land.

20 Judah and Israel were many, as the sand which is by the sea in multitude, eating and drinking, and making merry. 21 And Solomon reigned over all kingdoms from the river unto the land of the Philistines, and unto the border of Egypt: they brought presents, and served Solomon all the days of his life. 22 And Solomon’s provision for one day was thirty measures of fine flour, and threescore measures of meal, 23 Ten fat oxen, and twenty oxen out of the pastures, and an hundred sheep, beside harts, and roebucks, and fallowdeer, and fatted fowl. 24 For he had dominion over all the region on this side the river, from Tiphsah even to Azzah, over all the kings on this side the river: and he had peace on all sides round about him. 25 And Judah and Israel dwelt safely, every man under his vine and under his fig tree, from Dan even to Beersheba, all the days of Solomon. 26 And Solomon had forty thousand stalls of horses for his chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen. 27 And those officers provided victual for king Solomon, and for all that came unto king Solomon’s table, every man in his month: they lacked nothing. 28 Barley also and straw for the horses and dromedaries brought they unto the place where the officers were, every man according to his charge.

29 And God gave Solomon wisdom and understanding exceeding much, and largeness of heart, even as the sand that is on the sea shore. 30 And Solomon’s wisdom excelled the wisdom of all the children of the east country, and all the wisdom of Egypt. 31 For he was wiser than all men; than Ethan the Ezrahite, and Heman, and Chalcol, and Darda, the sons of Mahol: and his fame was in all nations round about. 32 And he spake three thousand proverbs: and his songs were a thousand and five. 33 And he spake of trees, from the cedar tree that is in Lebanon even unto the hyssop that springeth out of the wall: he spake also of beasts, and of fowl, and of creeping things, and of fishes. 34 And there came of all people to hear the wisdom of Solomon, from all kings of the earth, which had heard of his wisdom.

2 Samuel 24. David takes a census. God punishes David

1 And again the anger of the LORD was kindled against Israel, and he moved David against them to say, Go, number Israel and Judah. 2 For the king said to Joab the captain of the host, which was with him, Go now through all the tribes of Israel, from Dan even to Beersheba, and number ye the people, that I may know the number of the people. 3 And Joab said unto the king, Now the LORD thy God add unto the people, how many soever they be, an hundredfold, and that the eyes of my lord the king may see it: but why doth my lord the king delight in this thing? 4 Notwithstanding the king’s word prevailed against Joab, and against the captains of the host. And Joab and the captains of the host went out from the presence of the king, to number the people of Israel. 5 And they passed over Jordan, and pitched in Aroer, on the right side of the city that lieth in the midst of the river of Gad, and toward Jazer: 6 Then they came to Gilead, and to the land of Tahtimhodshi; and they came to Danjaan, and about to Zidon, 7 And came to the strong hold of Tyre, and to all the cities of the Hivites, and of the Canaanites: and they went out to the south of Judah, even to Beersheba. 8 So when they had gone through all the land, they came to Jerusalem at the end of nine months and twenty days. 9 And Joab gave up the sum of the number of the people unto the king: and there were in Israel eight hundred thousand valiant men that drew the sword; and the men of Judah were five hundred thousand men.

10 And David’s heart smote him after that he had numbered the people. And David said unto the LORD, I have sinned greatly in that I have done: and now, I beseech thee, O LORD, take away the iniquity of thy servant; for I have done very foolishly. 11 For when David was up in the morning, the word of the LORD came unto the prophet Gad, David’s seer, saying, 12 Go and say unto David, Thus saith the LORD, I offer thee three things; choose thee one of them, that I may do it unto thee. 13 So Gad came to David, and told him, and said unto him, Shall seven years of famine come unto thee in thy land? or wilt thou flee three months before thine enemies, while they pursue thee? or that there be three days’ pestilence in thy land? now advise, and see what answer I shall return to him that sent me. 14 And David said unto Gad, I am in a great strait: let us fall now into the hand of the LORD; for his mercies are great: and let me not fall into the hand of man. 15 So the LORD sent a pestilence upon Israel from the morning even to the time appointed: and there died of the people from Dan even to Beersheba seventy thousand men. 16 And when the angel stretched out his hand upon Jerusalem to destroy it, the LORD repented him of the evil, and said to the angel that destroyed the people, It is enough: stay now thine hand. And the angel of the LORD was by the threshingplace of Araunah the Jebusite. 17 And David spake unto the LORD when he saw the angel that smote the people, and said, Lo, I have sinned, and I have done wickedly: but these sheep, what have they done? let thine hand, I pray thee, be against me, and against my father’s house.

18 And Gad came that day to David, and said unto him, Go up, rear an altar unto the LORD in the threshingfloor of Araunah the Jebusite. 19 And David, according to the saying of Gad, went up as the LORD commanded. 20 And Araunah looked, and saw the king and his servants coming on toward him: and Araunah went out, and bowed himself before the king on his face upon the ground. 21 And Araunah said, Wherefore is my lord the king come to his servant? And David said, To buy the threshingfloor of thee, to build an altar unto the LORD, that the plague may be stayed from the people. 22 And Araunah said unto David, Let my lord the king take and offer up what seemeth good unto him: behold, here be oxen for burnt sacrifice, and threshing instruments and other instruments of the oxen for wood. 23 All these things did Araunah, as a king, give unto the king. And Araunah said unto the king, The LORD thy God accept thee. 24 And the king said unto Araunah, Nay; but I will surely buy it of thee at a price: neither will I offer burnt offerings unto the LORD my God of that which doth cost me nothing. So David bought the threshingfloor and the oxen for fifty shekels of silver. 25 And David built there an altar unto the LORD, and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings. So the LORD was entreated for the land, and the plague was stayed from Israel.

2 Samuel 19. David returns to Jerusalem. Joab reprimands David

1 And it was told Joab, Behold, the king weepeth and mourneth for Absalom. 2 And the victory that day was turned into mourning unto all the people: for the people heard say that day how the king was grieved for his son. 3 And the people gat them by stealth that day into the city, as people being ashamed steal away when they flee in battle. 4 But the king covered his face, and the king cried with a loud voice, O my son Absalom, O Absalom, my son, my son! 5 And Joab came into the house to the king, and said, Thou hast shamed this day the faces of all thy servants, which this day have saved thy life, and the lives of thy sons and of thy daughters, and the lives of thy wives, and the lives of thy concubines; 6 In that thou lovest thine enemies, and hatest thy friends. For thou hast declared this day, that thou regardest neither princes nor servants: for this day I perceive, that if Absalom had lived, and all we had died this day, then it had pleased thee well. 7 Now therefore arise, go forth, and speak comfortably unto thy servants: for I swear by the LORD, if thou go not forth, there will not tarry one with thee this night: and that will be worse unto thee than all the evil that befell thee from thy youth until now. 8 Then the king arose, and sat in the gate. And they told unto all the people, saying, Behold, the king doth sit in the gate. And all the people came before the king: for Israel had fled every man to his tent.

9 And all the people were at strife throughout all the tribes of Israel, saying, The king saved us out of the hand of our enemies, and he delivered us out of the hand of the Philistines; and now he is fled out of the land for Absalom. 10 And Absalom, whom we anointed over us, is dead in battle. Now therefore why speak ye not a word of bringing the king back? 11 And king David sent to Zadok and to Abiathar the priests, saying, Speak unto the elders of Judah, saying, Why are ye the last to bring the king back to his house? seeing the speech of all Israel is come to the king, even to his house. 12 Ye are my brethren, ye are my bones and my flesh: wherefore then are ye the last to bring back the king? 13 And say ye to Amasa, Art thou not of my bone, and of my flesh? God do so to me, and more also, if thou be not captain of the host before me continually in the room of Joab. 14 And he bowed the heart of all the men of Judah, even as the heart of one man; so that they sent this word unto the king, Return thou, and all thy servants. 15 So the king returned, and came to Jordan. And Judah came to Gilgal, to go to meet the king, to conduct the king over Jordan.

16 And Shimei the son of Gera, a Benjamite, which was of Bahurim, hasted and came down with the men of Judah to meet king David. 17 And there were a thousand men of Benjamin with him, and Ziba the servant of the house of Saul, and his fifteen sons and his twenty servants with him; and they went over Jordan before the king. 18 And there went over a ferry boat to carry over the king’s household, and to do what he thought good. And Shimei the son of Gera fell down before the king, as he was come over Jordan; 19 And said unto the king, Let not my lord impute iniquity unto me, neither do thou remember that which thy servant did perversely the day that my lord the king went out of Jerusalem, that the king should take it to his heart. 20 For thy servant doth know that I have sinned: therefore, behold, I am come the first this day of all the house of Joseph to go down to meet my lord the king. 21 But Abishai the son of Zeruiah answered and said, Shall not Shimei be put to death for this, because he cursed the LORD’S anointed? 22 And David said, What have I to do with you, ye sons of Zeruiah, that ye should this day be adversaries unto me? shall there any man be put to death this day in Israel? for do not I know that I am this day king over Israel? 23 Therefore the king said unto Shimei, Thou shalt not die. And the king sware unto him.

24 And Mephibosheth the son of Saul came down to meet the king, and had neither dressed his feet, nor trimmed his beard, nor washed his clothes, from the day the king departed until the day he came again in peace. 25 And it came to pass, when he was come to Jerusalem to meet the king, that the king said unto him, Wherefore wentest not thou with me, Mephibosheth? 26 And he answered, My lord, O king, my servant deceived me: for thy servant said, I will saddle me an ass, that I may ride thereon, and go to the king; because thy servant is lame. 27 And he hath slandered thy servant unto my lord the king; but my lord the king is as an angel of God: do therefore what is good in thine eyes. 28 For all of my father’s house were but dead men before my lord the king: yet didst thou set thy servant among them that did eat at thine own table. What right therefore have I yet to cry any more unto the king? 29 And the king said unto him, Why speakest thou any more of thy matters? I have said, Thou and Ziba divide the land. 30 And Mephibosheth said unto the king, Yea, let him take all, forasmuch as my lord the king is come again in peace unto his own house.

31 And Barzillai the Gileadite came down from Rogelim, and went over Jordan with the king, to conduct him over Jordan. 32 Now Barzillai was a very aged man, even fourscore years old: and he had provided the king of sustenance while he lay at Mahanaim; for he was a very great man. 33 And the king said unto Barzillai, Come thou over with me, and I will feed thee with me in Jerusalem. 34 And Barzillai said unto the king, How long have I to live, that I should go up with the king unto Jerusalem? 35 I am this day fourscore years old: and can I discern between good and evil? can thy servant taste what I eat or what I drink? can I hear any more the voice of singing men and singing women? wherefore then should thy servant be yet a burden unto my lord the king? 36 Thy servant will go a little way over Jordan with the king: and why should the king recompense it me with such a reward? 37 Let thy servant, I pray thee, turn back again, that I may die in mine own city, and be buried by the grave of my father and of my mother. But behold thy servant Chimham; let him go over with my lord the king; and do to him what shall seem good unto thee. 38 And the king answered, Chimham shall go over with me, and I will do to him that which shall seem good unto thee: and whatsoever thou shalt require of me, that will I do for thee. 39 And all the people went over Jordan. And when the king was come over, the king kissed Barzillai, and blessed him; and he returned unto his own place.

40 Then the king went on to Gilgal, and Chimham went on with him: and all the people of Judah conducted the king, and also half the people of Israel. 41 And, behold, all the men of Israel came to the king, and said unto the king, Why have our brethren the men of Judah stolen thee away, and have brought the king, and his household, and all David’s men with him, over Jordan? 42 And all the men of Judah answered the men of Israel, Because the king is near of kin to us: wherefore then be ye angry for this matter? have we eaten at all of the king’s cost? or hath he given us any gift? 43 And the men of Israel answered the men of Judah, and said, We have ten parts in the king, and we have also more right in David than ye: why then did ye despise us, that our advice should not be first had in bringing back our king? And the words of the men of Judah were fiercer than the words of the men of Israel.

May GOD bless Nigeria, America and Israel and take care of us; May GOD make His face shine upon us, And be gracious to us; May the LORD lift up His countenance upon us, And give us peace, In Jesus Christ Name, we pray! Amen!

May the grace the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen!

2 Samuel 5. David becomes the king of Israel and Judah

1 Then came all the tribes of Israel to David unto Hebron, and spake, saying, Behold, we are thy bone and thy flesh. 2 Also in time past, when Saul was king over us, thou wast he that leddest out and broughtest in Israel: and the LORD said to thee, Thou shalt feed my people Israel, and thou shalt be a captain over Israel. 3 So all the elders of Israel came to the king to Hebron; and king David made a league with them in Hebron before the LORD: and they anointed David king over Israel. 4 David was thirty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned forty years. 5 In Hebron he reigned over Judah seven years and six months: and in Jerusalem he reigned thirty and three years over all Israel and Judah.

6 And the king and his men went to Jerusalem unto the Jebusites, the inhabitants of the land: which spake unto David, saying, Except thou take away the blind and the lame, thou shalt not come in hither: thinking, David cannot come in hither. 7 Nevertheless David took the strong hold of Zion: the same is the city of David. 8 And David said on that day, Whosoever getteth up to the gutter, and smiteth the Jebusites, and the lame and the blind, that are hated of David’s soul, he shall be chief and captain. Wherefore they said, The blind and the lame shall not come into the house. 9 So David dwelt in the fort, and called it the city of David. And David built round about from Millo and inward. 10 And David went on, and grew great, and the LORD God of hosts was with him.

11 And Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and cedar trees, and carpenters, and masons: and they built David an house. 12 And David perceived that the LORD had established him king over Israel, and that he had exalted his kingdom for his people Israel’s sake. 13 And David took him more concubines and wives out of Jerusalem, after he was come from Hebron: and there were yet sons and daughters born to David. 14 And these be the names of those that were born unto him in Jerusalem; Shammuah, and Shobab, and Nathan, and Solomon, 15 Ibhar also, and Elishua, and Nepheg, and Japhia, 16 And Elishama, and Eliada, and Eliphalet.

17 But when the Philistines heard that they had anointed David king over Israel, all the Philistines came up to seek David; and David heard of it, and went down to the hold. 18 The Philistines also came and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim. 19 And David inquired of the LORD, saying, Shall I go up to the Philistines? wilt thou deliver them into mine hand? And the LORD said unto David, Go up: for I will doubtless deliver the Philistines into thine hand. 20 And David came to Baalperazim, and David smote them there, and said, The LORD hath broken forth upon mine enemies before me, as the breach of waters. Therefore he called the name of that place Baalperazim. 21 And there they left their images, and David and his men burned them. 22 And the Philistines came up yet again, and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim. 23 And when David inquired of the LORD, he said, Thou shalt not go up; but fetch a compass behind them, and come upon them over against the mulberry trees. 24 And let it be, when thou hearest the sound of a going in the tops of the mulberry trees, that then thou shalt bestir thyself: for then shall the LORD go out before thee, to smite the host of the Philistines. 25 And David did so, as the LORD had commanded him; and smote the Philistines from Geba until thou come to Gazer.

May GOD bless Nigeria, America and Israel and take care of us; May GOD make His face shine upon us, And be gracious to us; May the LORD lift up His countenance upon us, And give us peace, In Jesus Christ Name, we pray! Amen!

2 Samuel 2. Israel and Judah at war. David is made the king of Judah

Benjamin

2 Samuel 2. Israel and Judah at war. David is made the king of Judah

1 And it came to pass after this, that David inquired of the LORD, saying, Shall I go up into any of the cities of Judah? And the LORD said unto him, Go up. And David said, Whither shall I go up? And he said, Unto Hebron. 2 So David went up thither, and his two wives also, Ahinoam the Jezreelitess, and Abigail Nabal’s wife the Carmelite. 3 And his men that were with him did David bring up, every man with his household: and they dwelt in the cities of Hebron. 4 And the men of Judah came, and there they anointed David king over the house of Judah. And they told David, saying, That the men of Jabeshgilead were they that buried Saul. 5 And David sent messengers unto the men of Jabeshgilead, and said unto them, Blessed be ye of the LORD, that ye have showed this kindness unto your lord, even unto Saul, and have buried him. 6 And now the LORD show kindness and truth unto you: and I also will requite you this kindness, because ye have done this thing. 7 Therefore now let your hands be strengthened, and be ye valiant: for your master Saul is dead, and also the house of Judah have anointed me king over them.

8 But Abner the son of Ner, captain of Saul’s host, took Ishbosheth the son of Saul, and brought him over to Mahanaim; 9 And made him king over Gilead, and over the Ashurites, and over Jezreel, and over Ephraim, and over Benjamin, and over all Israel. 10 Ishbosheth Saul’s son was forty years old when he began to reign over Israel, and reigned two years. But the house of Judah followed David. 11 And the time that David was king in Hebron over the house of Judah was seven years and six months. 12 And Abner the son of Ner, and the servants of Ishbosheth the son of Saul, went out from Mahanaim to Gibeon. 13 And Joab the son of Zeruiah, and the servants of David, went out, and met together by the pool of Gibeon: and they sat down, the one on the one side of the pool, and the other on the other side of the pool. 14 And Abner said to Joab, Let the young men now arise, and play before us. And Joab said, Let them arise. 15 Then there arose and went over by number twelve of Benjamin, which pertained to Ishbosheth the son of Saul, and twelve of the servants of David. 16 And they caught every one his fellow by the head, and thrust his sword in his fellow’s side; so they fell down together: wherefore that place was called Helkathhazzurim, which is in Gibeon. 17 And there was a very sore battle that day; and Abner was beaten, and the men of Israel, before the servants of David.

18 And there were three sons of Zeruiah there, Joab, and Abishai, and Asahel: and Asahel was as light of foot as a wild roe. 19 And Asahel pursued after Abner; and in going he turned not to the right hand nor to the left from following Abner. 20 Then Abner looked behind him, and said, Art thou Asahel? And he answered, I am. 21 And Abner said to him, Turn thee aside to thy right hand or to thy left, and lay thee hold on one of the young men, and take thee his armour. But Asahel would not turn aside from following of him. 22 And Abner said again to Asahel, Turn thee aside from following me: wherefore should I smite thee to the ground? how then should I hold up my face to Joab thy brother? 23 Howbeit he refused to turn aside: wherefore Abner with the hinder end of the spear smote him under the fifth rib, that the spear came out behind him; and he fell down there, and died in the same place: and it came to pass, that as many as came to the place where Asahel fell down and died stood still. 24 Joab also and Abishai pursued after Abner: and the sun went down when they were come to the hill of Ammah, that lieth before Giah by the way of the wilderness of Gibeon.

25 And the children of Benjamin gathered themselves together after Abner, and became one troop, and stood on the top of an hill. 26 Then Abner called to Joab, and said, Shall the sword devour for ever? knowest thou not that it will be bitterness in the latter end? how long shall it be then, ere thou bid the people return from following their brethren? 27 And Joab said, As God liveth, unless thou hadst spoken, surely then in the morning the people had gone up every one from following his brother. 28 So Joab blew a trumpet, and all the people stood still, and pursued after Israel no more, neither fought they any more. 29 And Abner and his men walked all that night through the plain, and passed over Jordan, and went through all Bithron, and they came to Mahanaim. 30 And Joab returned from following Abner: and when he had gathered all the people together, there lacked of David’s servants nineteen men and Asahel. 31 But the servants of David had smitten of Benjamin, and of Abner’s men, so that three hundred and threescore men died. 32 And they took up Asahel, and buried him in the sepulchre of his father, which was in Bethlehem. And Joab and his men went all night, and they came to Hebron at break of day.

Amen

Judges 15. Samson burns the Philistines’ Grain

1 But it came to pass within a while after, in the time of wheat harvest, that Samson visited his wife with a kid; and he said, I will go in to my wife into the chamber. But her father would not suffer him to go in. 2 And her father said, I verily thought that thou hadst utterly hated her; therefore I gave her to thy companion: is not her younger sister fairer than she? take her, I pray thee, instead of her. 3 And Samson said concerning them, Now shall I be more blameless than the Philistines, though I do them a displeasure. 4 And Samson went and caught three hundred foxes, and took firebrands, and turned tail to tail, and put a firebrand in the midst between two tails. 5 And when he had set the brands on fire, he let them go into the standing corn of the Philistines, and burnt up both the shocks, and also the standing corn, with the vineyards and olives. 6 Then the Philistines said, Who hath done this? And they answered, Samson, the son in law of the Timnite, because he had taken his wife, and given her to his companion. And the Philistines came up, and burnt her and her father with fire. 7 And Samson said unto them, Though ye have done this, yet will I be avenged of you, and after that I will cease. 8 And he smote them hip and thigh with a great slaughter: and he went down and dwelt in the top of the rock Etam.

9 Then the Philistines went up, and pitched in Judah, and spread themselves in Lehi. 10 And the men of Judah said, Why are ye come up against us? And they answered, To bind Samson are we come up, to do to him as he hath done to us. 11 Then three thousand men of Judah went to the top of the rock Etam, and said to Samson, Knowest thou not that the Philistines are rulers over us? what is this that thou hast done unto us? And he said unto them, As they did unto me, so have I done unto them. 12 And they said unto him, We are come down to bind thee, that we may deliver thee into the hand of the Philistines. And Samson said unto them, Swear unto me, that ye will not fall upon me yourselves. 13 And they spake unto him, saying, No; but we will bind thee fast, and deliver thee into their hand: but surely we will not kill thee. And they bound him with two new cords, and brought him up from the rock. 14 And when he came unto Lehi, the Philistines shouted against him: and the spirit of the LORD came mightily upon him, and the cords that were
upon his arms became as flax that was burnt with fire, and his bands loosed from off his hands. 15 And he found a new jawbone of an ass, and put forth his hand, and took it, and slew a thousand men therewith. 16 And Samson said, With the jawbone of an ass, heaps upon heaps, with the jaw of an ass have I slain a thousand men. 17 And it came to pass, when he had made an end of speaking, that he cast away the jawbone out of his hand, and called that place Ramathlehi.

18 And he was sore athirst, and called on the LORD, and said, Thou hast given this great deliverance into the hand of thy servant: and now shall I die for thirst, and fall into the hand of the uncircumcised? 19 But God clave an hollow place that was in the jaw, and there came water thereout; and when he had drunk, his spirit came again, and he revived: wherefore he called the name thereof Enhakkore, which is in Lehi unto this day. 20 And he judged Israel in the days of the Philistines twenty years.

Amen!

Judges 1. The tribes of Judah and Simeon captured Adonibezek

Judges 1. The tribes of Judah and Simeon captured Adonibezek

1 Now after the death of Joshua it came to pass, that the children of Israel asked the LORD, saying, Who shall go up for us against the Canaanites first, to fight against them? 2 And the LORD said, Judah shall go up: behold, I have delivered the land into his hand. 3 And Judah said unto Simeon his brother, Come up with me into my lot, that we may fight against the Canaanites; and I likewise will go with thee into thy lot. So Simeon went with him. 4 And Judah went up; and the LORD delivered the Canaanites and the Perizzites into their hand: and they slew of them in Bezek ten thousand men. 5 And they found Adonibezek in Bezek: and they fought against him, and they slew the Canaanites and the Perizzites. 6 But Adonibezek fled; and they pursued after him, and caught him, and cut off his thumbs and his great toes. 7 And Adonibezek said, Threescore and ten kings, having their thumbs and their great toes cut off, gathered their meat under my table: as I have done, so God hath requited me. And they brought him to Jerusalem, and there he died. 8 Now the children of Judah had fought against Jerusalem, and had taken it, and smitten it with the edge of the sword, and set the city on fire.

9 And afterward the children of Judah went down to fight against the Canaanites, that dwelt in the mountain, and in the south, and in the valley. 10 And Judah went against the Canaanites that dwelt in Hebron: (now the name of Hebron before was Kirjatharba🙂 and they slew Sheshai, and Ahiman, and Talmai. 11 And from thence he went against the inhabitants of Debir: and the name of Debir before was Kirjathsepher: 12 And Caleb said, He that smiteth Kirjathsepher, and taketh it, to him will I give Achsah my daughter to wife. 13 And Othniel the son of Kenaz, Caleb’s younger brother, took it: and he gave him Achsah his daughter to wife. 14 And it came to pass, when she came to him, that she moved him to ask of her father a field: and she lighted from off her ass; and Caleb said unto her, What wilt thou? 15 And she said unto him, Give me a blessing: for thou hast given me a south land; give me also springs of water. And Caleb gave her the upper springs and the nether springs. 16 And the children of the Kenite, Moses’ father in law, went up out of the city of palm trees with the children of Judah into the wilderness of Judah, which lieth in the south of Arad; and they went and dwelt among the people. 17 And Judah went with Simeon his brother, and they slew the Canaanites that inhabited Zephath, and utterly destroyed it. And the name of the city was called Hormah. 18 Also Judah took Gaza with the coast thereof, and Askelon with the coast thereof, and Ekron with the coast thereof. 19 And the LORD was with Judah; and he drave out the inhabitants of the mountain; but could not drive out the inhabitants of the valley, because they had chariots of iron. 20 And they gave Hebron unto Caleb, as Moses said: and he expelled thence the three sons of Anak.

21 And the children of Benjamin did not drive out the Jebusites that inhabited Jerusalem; but the Jebusites dwell with the children of Benjamin in Jerusalem unto this day. 22 And the house of Joseph, they also went up against Bethel: and the LORD was with them. 23 And the house of Joseph sent to descry Bethel. (Now the name of the city before was Luz.) 24 And the spies saw a man come forth out of the city, and they said unto him, Show us, we pray thee, the entrance into the city, and we will show thee mercy. 25 And when he showed them the entrance into the city, they smote the city with the edge of the sword; but they let go the man and all his family. 26 And the man went into the land of the Hittites, and built a city, and called the name thereof Luz: which is the name thereof unto this day. 27 Neither did Manasseh drive out the inhabitants of Bethshean and her towns, nor Taanach and her towns, nor the inhabitants of Dor and her towns, nor the inhabitants of Ibleam and her towns, nor the inhabitants of Megiddo and her towns: but the Canaanites would dwell in that land. 28 And it came to pass, when Israel was strong, that they put the Canaanites to tribute, and did not utterly drive them out. 29 Neither did Ephraim drive out the Canaanites that dwelt in Gezer; but the Canaanites dwelt in Gezer among them. 30 Neither did Zebulun drive out the inhabitants of Kitron, nor the inhabitants of Nahalol; but the Canaanites dwelt among them, and became tributaries. 31 Neither did Asher drive out the inhabitants of Accho, nor the inhabitants of Zidon, nor of Ahlab, nor of Achzib, nor of Helbah, nor of Aphik, nor of Rehob: 32 But the Asherites dwelt among the Canaanites, the inhabitants of the land: for they did not drive them out. 33 Neither did Naphtali drive out the inhabitants of Bethshemesh, nor the inhabitants of Bethanath; but he dwelt among the Canaanites, the inhabitants of the land: nevertheless the inhabitants of Bethshemesh and of Bethanath became tributaries unto them. 34 And the Amorites forced the children of Dan into the mountain: for they would not suffer them to come down to the valley: 35 But the Amorites would dwell in mount Heres in Aijalon, and in Shaalbim: yet the hand of the house of Joseph prevailed, so that they became tributaries. 36 And the coast of the Amorites was from the going up to Akrabbim, from the rock, and upward.

Joshua 19. The territory assigned to Simeon

1 And the second lot came forth to Simeon, even for the tribe of the children of Simeon according to their families: and their inheritance was within the inheritance of the children of Judah. 2 And they had in their inheritance Beersheba, and Sheba, and Moladah, 3 And Hazarshual, and Balah, and Azem, 4 And Eltolad, and Bethul, and Hormah, 5 And Ziklag, and Bethmarcaboth, and Hazarsusah, 6 And Bethlebaoth, and Sharuhen; thirteen cities and their villages: 7 Ain, Remmon, and Ether, and Ashan; four cities and their villages: 8 And all the villages that were round about these cities to Baalathbeer, Ramath of the south. This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Simeon according to their families. 9 Out of the portion of the children of Judah was the inheritance of the children of Simeon: for the part of the children of Judah was too much for them: therefore the children of Simeon had their inheritance within the inheritance of them.

10 And the third lot came up for the children of Zebulun according to their families: and the border of their inheritance was unto Sarid: 11 And their border went up toward the sea, and Maralah, and reached to Dabbasheth, and reached to the river that is before Jokneam; 12 And turned from Sarid eastward toward the sunrising unto the border of Chislothtabor, and then goeth out to Daberath, and goeth up to Japhia. 13 And from thence passeth on along on the east to Gittahhepher, to Ittahkazin, and goeth out to Remmonmethoar to Neah; 14 And the border compasseth it on the north side to Hannathon: and the outgoings thereof are in the valley of Jiphthahel: 15 And Kattath, and Nahallal, and Shimron, and Idalah, and Bethlehem: twelve cities with their villages. 16 This is the inheritance of the children of Zebulun according to their families, these cities with their villages.

17 And the fourth lot came out to Issachar, for the children of Issachar according to their families. 18 And their border was toward Jezreel, and Chesulloth, and Shunem, 19 And Haphraim, and Shihon, and Anaharath, 20 And Rabbith, and Kishion, and Abez, 21 And Remeth, and Engannim, and Enhaddah, and Bethpazzez; 22 And the coast reacheth to Tabor, and Shahazimah, and Bethshemesh; and the outgoings of their border were at Jordan: sixteen cities with their villages. 23 This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Issachar according to their families, the cities and their villages.

24 And the fifth lot came out for the tribe of the children of Asher according to their families. 25 And their border was Helkath, and Hali, and Beten, and Achshaph, 26 And Alammelech, and Amad, and Misheal; and reacheth to Carmel westward, and to Shihorlibnath; 27 And turneth toward the sunrising to Bethdagon, and reacheth to Zebulun, and to the valley of Jiphthahel toward the north side of Bethemek, and Neiel, and goeth out to Cabul on the left hand, 28 And Hebron, and Rehob, and Hammon, and Kanah, even unto great Zidon; 29 And then the coast turneth to Ramah, and to the strong city Tyre; and the coast turneth to Hosah; and the outgoings thereof are at the sea from the coast to Achzib: 30 Ummah also, and Aphek, and Rehob: twenty and two cities with their villages. 31 This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Asher according to their families, these cities with their villages.

32 The sixth lot came out to the children of Naphtali, even for the children of Naphtali according to their families. 33 And their coast was from Heleph, from Allon to Zaanannim, and Adami, Nekeb, and Jabneel, unto Lakum; and the outgoings thereof were at Jordan: 34 And then the coast turneth westward to Aznothtabor, and goeth out from thence to Hukkok, and reacheth to Zebulun on the south side, and reacheth to Asher on the west side, and to Judah upon Jordan toward the sunrising. 35 And the fenced cities are Ziddim, Zer, and Hammath, Rakkath, and Chinnereth, 36 And Adamah, and Ramah, and Hazor, 37 And Kedesh, and Edrei, and Enhazor, 38 And Iron, and Migdalel, Horem, and Bethanath, and Bethshemesh; nineteen cities with their villages. 39 This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Naphtali according to their families, the cities and their villages.

40 And the seventh lot came out for the tribe of the children of Dan according to their families. 41 And the coast of their inheritance was Zorah, and Eshtaol, and Irshemesh, 42 And Shaalabbin, and Ajalon, and Jethlah, 43 And Elon, and Thimnathah, and Ekron, 44 And Eltekeh, and Gibbethon, and Baalath, 45 And Jehud, and Beneberak, and Gathrimmon, 46 And Mejarkon, and Rakkon, with the border before Japho. 47 And the coast of the children of Dan went out too little for them: therefore the children of Dan went up to fight against Leshem, and took it, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and possessed it, and dwelt therein, and called Leshem, Dan, after the name of Dan their father. 48 This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Dan according to their families, these cities with their villages.

49 When they had made an end of dividing the land for inheritance by their coasts, the children of Israel gave an inheritance to Joshua the son of Nun among them: 50 According to the word of the LORD they gave him the city which he asked, even Timnathserah in mount Ephraim: and he built the city, and dwelt therein. 51 These are the inheritances, which Eleazar the priest, and Joshua the son of Nun, and the heads of the fathers of the tribes of the children of Israel, divided for an inheritance by lot in Shiloh before the LORD, at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation. So they made an end of dividing the country.

Joshua 15. The cities of Judah

Joshua 15. The cities of Judah

1 This then was the lot of the tribe of the children of Judah by their families; even to the border of Edom the wilderness of Zin southward was the uttermost part of the south coast. 2 And their south border was from the shore of the salt sea, from the bay that looketh southward: 3 And it went out to the south side to Maalehacrabbim, and passed along to Zin, and ascended up on the south side unto Kadeshbarnea, and passed along to Hezron, and went up to Adar, and fetched a compass to Karkaa: 4 From thence it passed toward Azmon, and went out unto the river of Egypt; and the goings out of that coast were at the sea: this shall be your south coast. 5 And the east border was the salt sea, even unto the end of Jordan. And their border in the north quarter was from the bay of the sea at the uttermost part of Jordan: 6 And the border went up to Bethhogla, and passed along by the north of Betharabah; and the border went up to the stone of Bohan the son of Reuben: 7 And the border went up toward Debir from the valley of Achor, and so northward, looking toward Gilgal, that is before the going up to Adummim, which is on the south side of the river: and the border passed toward the waters of Enshemesh, and the goings out thereof were at Enrogel: 8 And the border went up by the valley of the son of Hinnom unto the south side of the Jebusite; the same is Jerusalem: and the border went up to the top of the mountain that lieth before the valley of Hinnom westward, which is at the end of the valley of the giants northward: 9 And the border was drawn from the top of the hill unto the fountain of the water of Nephtoah, and went out to the cities of mount Ephron; and the border was drawn to Baalah, which is Kirjathjearim: 10 And the border compassed from Baalah westward unto mount Seir, and passed along unto the side of mount Jearim, which is Chesalon, on the north side, and went down to Bethshemesh, and passed on to Timnah: 11 And the border went out unto the side of Ekron northward: and the border was drawn to Shicron, and passed along to mount Baalah, and went out unto Jabneel; and the goings out of the border were at the sea. 12 And the west border was to the great sea, and the coast thereof. This is the coast of the children of Judah round about according to their families.

13 And unto Caleb the son of Jephunneh he gave a part among the children of Judah, according to the commandment of the LORD to Joshua, even the city of Arba the father of Anak, which city is Hebron. 14 And Caleb drove thence the three sons of Anak, Sheshai, and Ahiman, and Talmai, the children of Anak. 15 And he went up thence to the inhabitants of Debir: and the name of Debir before was Kirjathsepher. 16 And Caleb said, He that smiteth Kirjathsepher, and taketh it, to him will I give Achsah my daughter to wife. 17 And Othniel the son of Kenaz, the brother of Caleb, took it: and he gave him Achsah his daughter to wife. 18 And it came to pass, as she came unto him, that she moved him to ask of her father a field: and she lighted off her ass; and Caleb said unto her, What wouldest thou? 19 Who answered, Give me a blessing; for thou hast given me a south land; give me also springs of water. And he gave her the upper springs, and the nether springs.

20 This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Judah according to their families. 21 And the uttermost cities of the tribe of the children of Judah toward the coast of Edom southward were Kabzeel, and Eder, and Jagur, 22 And Kinah, and Dimonah, and Adadah, 23 And Kedesh, and Hazor, and Ithnan, 24 Ziph, and Telem, and Bealoth, 25 And Hazor, Hadattah, and Kerioth, and Hezron, which is Hazor, 26 Amam, and Shema, and Moladah, 27 And Hazargaddah, and Heshmon, and Bethpalet, 28 And Hazarshual, and Beersheba, and Bizjothjah, 29 Baalah, and Iim, and Azem, 30 And Eltolad, and Chesil, and Hormah, 31 And Ziklag, and Madmannah, and Sansannah, 32 And Lebaoth, and Shilhim, and Ain, and Rimmon: all the cities are twenty and nine, with their villages: 33 And in the valley, Eshtaol, and Zoreah, and Ashnah, 34 And Zanoah, and Engannim, Tappuah, and Enam, 35 Jarmuth, and Adullam, Socoh, and Azekah, 36 And Sharaim, and Adithaim, and Gederah, and Gederothaim; fourteen cities with their villages: 37 Zenan, and Hadashah, and Migdalgad, 38 And Dilean, and Mizpeh, and Joktheel, 39 Lachish, and Bozkath, and Eglon, 40 And Cabbon, and Lahmam, and Kithlish, 41 And Gederoth, Bethdagon, and Naamah, and Makkedah; sixteen cities with their villages: 42 Libnah, and Ether, and Ashan, 43 And Jiphtah, and Ashnah, and Nezib, 44 And Keilah, and Achzib, and Mareshah; nine cities with their villages: 45 Ekron, with her towns and her villages: 46 From Ekron even unto the sea, all that lay near Ashdod, with their villages: 47 Ashdod with her towns and her villages, Gaza with her towns and her villages, unto the river of Egypt, and the great sea, and the border thereof: 48 And in the mountains, Shamir, and Jattir, and Socoh, 49 And Dannah, and Kirjathsannah, which is Debir, 50 And Anab, and Eshtemoh, and Anim, 51 And Goshen, and Holon, and Giloh; eleven cities with their villages: 52 Arab, and Dumah, and Eshean, 53 And Janum, and Bethtappuah, and Aphekah, 54 And Humtah, and Kirjatharba, which is Hebron, and Zior; nine cities with their villages: 55 Maon, Carmel, and Ziph, and Juttah, 56 And Jezreel, and Jokdeam, and Zanoah, 57 Cain, Gibeah, and Timnah; ten cities with their villages: 58 Halhul, Bethzur, and Gedor, 59 And Maarath, and Bethanoth, and Eltekon; six cities with their villages: 60 Kirjathbaal, which is Kirjathjearim, and Rabbah; two cities with their villages: 61 In the wilderness, Betharabah, Middin, and Secacah, 62 And Nibshan, and the city of Salt, and Engedi; six cities with their villages. 63 As for the Jebusites the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the children of Judah could not drive them out: but the Jebusites dwell with the children of Judah at Jerusalem unto this day.

Let somebody shout halleluiah!

If there was a preacher that almost got me on my feet, this young man (G.O commenting on the preacher before him) has all the making of a great evangelist and he brought out a very significant truth; you cannot fight new battles with old anointing. You need new anointing to deal with the present situation in the world.

When David was going to face Goliath, King Saul gave him the armor, he said “No sir, the battle now has changed” I can’t use the old weapon to deal with the new battle. Brother I thank you very much for your insight. If that is the only sermon we heard tonight, it is enough.

I have been seriously touched by that sermon because that sermon is addressing the real reason why we are here tonight. Brethren the battle has changed, no doubt about that!

In our own time, when I was in the university and the student says that they are rioting, all we did, the most that we did, is that we blocked the gate of the university; nobody can come in, nobody can go out and then we get the branches of tree and begin to sing and to dance, that is our own protest. Throughout the days that I was in the university, not a single student died.

When somebody says he belong to the secret society in those days, they are just there to drink palm wine, they are there to make fun of girls who are not well dress.

There was never a single case where somebody killed another student, not in our time, but the battle has changed, things are different now. In our own time, probably the greatest distraction a student can have and that is the television that can be controlled.

Today, oh Lord have mercy!

while the parent are sleeping, the television is off but the Ipad is working, the Laptop is working, the children are surfing the internet, you are sleeping, you think all is well, and your child is learning how to make a bomb, from the internet. Brethren the battle has changed and we need new anointing to deal with the new problem and in the name that is above every other name, just as David overcame, we shall overcome.

The battle has changed; the elders need the new anointing to deal with the new situation in their families. The student needs new anointing; to deal with the new situation in their own lives. In my time, if you did science, when you are graduating, secondary school will come to the university to beg you to come and work, come and teach in our secondary schools, what kind of car do you want? So that we can bring it to your gate when you are leaving the university. Now you have a PhD, you have to apply.

The battle has changed; thank God the weapon has changed, thank God for a anew anointing, Thank God because we shall overcome.

Those of you who believe you shall be a winner let me hear you shout halleluiah!

The New Anointing

2Kings 2 v 9 -15 and so it was, when they had crossed over, that Elijah said to Elisha, “Ask! What may I do for you, before I am taken from you?’ Elisha said, “please late a double portion of your spirit be upon me: so he said “you have asked a hard thing. Nevertheless, if you see me when I am taken from you, it shall be so for you; but if not it shall not be so”

Then it happened, as they continued on and talked, that suddenly a chariot of fire appeared with horses of fire, and separated the two of them; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven and Elijah saw it and cried out, “my father, my father, the chariot of Israel and its horsemen! So he saw him no more. And he took hold of his own cloth and tore them into pieces. He also took the mantle of Elijah that had fallen from him, and went back and stood by the bank of the Jordan.

Then he took the mantle of Elijah that had fallen from him, and struck the water, and said “where is the Lord God of Elijah?” And when he also had struck the water, it was divided this way and that and Elisha crossed over. Now when the sons of the prophet who were from Jericho saw him, they said. “The spirit of Elijah rest on Elisha.” And they came to meet him, and bowed to the ground before him.

One of the preachers said you cannot talk about the new, without talking about the old, the truth of the matter is that the old anointing is the mother of the new, it is the spirit of Elijah, that thus rest on Elisha. The old anointing gives birth to the new and because the old anointing is the mother of the new, then the genes of the old is in the new.

The two anointing have certain things in common; both of them are anointing. Whether you call one old and the other new, at least they are both anointing. And when you look at the story we have read tonight, and I am going to be very brief, because I want us to pray tonight, we need that anointing urgently. We see that both the old and the new clear obstacles.

When Elijah wanted to cross River Jordan, he used his mantle but he used it to smite the river and the river divided into two. When Elisha wanted to cross to the other side; he also took the mantle, smite the river and Jordan parted.

In Exodus 14 v 21 -28 when Moses wanted to take the children of Israel through the red sea, he used the old anointing to open up the red sea, when the wall of Jericho blocked the way of Joshua, in Joshua 6 v 20 Joshua and the children of Israel, gave one shout and the wall of Jericho came tumbling down.

The obstacles might be different, but the anointing both the new and the old can clear any obstacles. Which is why I am happy for you, that whatever obstacles that may be in your way, by the virtue of the anointing, the obstacles will vanish tonight in Jesus name.

Anointing if we have all the time to explain is also like fire and fire burns whether old fire or new fire. In 2 King 1 v 9 – 12 when some people try to arrest Elijah, Elijah used the old anointing to roast them; he used the old anointing to reduce those who would have arrested him to ashes. In 2 kings 2 v 23 – 24 when some people began to mock Elisha, he used the new anointing to silence them permanently.

By the basis  on the unction of the Holy spirit, I am also saying the anointing  of God will see to it tonight, that those who have tried one way or the other  to say where is you, God will silence them permanently. Now both anointing, old as well as new can raise the dead,

in 2 king 17 v 17 when the Son of the widow of Zarephath died, Elijah used the old anointing to bring that child back to life.2King 4 V 28 when the son of the Shulamite woman died, Elisha used the old anointing to bring that child back to life.

So the anointing whether old or new has resurrection  power, which is why I am saying everything that is good in your life that the enemy had killed, shall resurrect tonight Jesus name. Old naoin3int, where

The Lord said there is a student her tonight, he said both himself and you working together, will soon surprise your professor.

The Lord said there is someone here tonight, urinating blood, he said the urinating has stopped.

The new anointing has the power to multiply. In 1 King 17 v 8 – 16 when Elijah came to the widow of Zarephath, she had only one meal left but the anointing in the life of Elijah, kept multiplying that food that the woman never lack until the famine is over.

The Lord said there is someone here tonight, he said your voice have been fading steadily, he ask me to tell you, at the next shout of halleluiah! Your voice will be fully restored.

In 2king 4 v 1 – 7 when the widow of the son of the prophet ran to Elisha, and said am in trouble am in debt, the creditors have come to collect my children, Elijah said what do you have in the house?, she said “empty vessels” he said “go and borrow empty vessels, make sure they are very many, and begin to pour the oil and as she began to pour the oil, the oil kept on multiplying.

And am prophesying to the life of some one here tonight, in the name that is above every other name, from now on you will begin to multiply. Your miracles will begin to multiply.

It reminds me of the story of a brother, who came to us several years ago.  Very, very wretched! When I finished praying for him, the spirit of God said I should give him some money, because the situation of the fellow was, am not sure he has enough money to travel back.  I gave him a little money then because I had very little too. But I heard myself saying this money will never finish.

Each time I see him today, I remember that day, I remember the poor man of the day, I see how far God has brought him now.

The other day, I was driving through the camp and I was asking somebody, “Whose house is that?” “They say it belong to so and so” and I remember the money that never ends.

There is somebody here tonight, it doesn’t matter how much is in your pocket, in the name that is above every other name that money will never finish.

The Lord said there is someone here tonight, he said I will surely promote you, but don’t forget that I am the one doing it.

Now what is the difference between the new anointing and the old? It is simply that the new is superior to the old. Far, far superior; number one it starts where the old ends. Wherever the old ends, the new begins, like in 2 kings 2 v 9-12 it is only when Elijah left that Elisha began. In Joshua 1 v 1-2 God himself said to Joshua, he said Moses my servant is dead, now you arise.

The new anointing begins were the old ends and I have good news for somebody here  tonight, no matter how great you are right now, tonight is the beginning of your new greatness.

I want to prophesy to you in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, you will never go lower than you are tonight, you will never be poorer than you are tonight. From now on, it will be an upward swing in Jesus name.

The new begins where the old ends, not only that, the new anointing can do much more than the old. For example like I told my children yesterday, the new succeeds where the old has failed. In Joshua 1 v 3- 9 God said to Joshua, the assignment that Moses could not complete, you will complete. Moses brought the people out of Egypt but he couldn’t take them to the promise Land. Joshua, you will succeed where Moses has failed.

Let me prophesy to somebody straightaway, because of the new anointing you will get tonight, you will never fail again.

And like I told my children yesterday, and I am telling the rest of you  who came today, who were not here yesterday, whether the devil likes it or not, you will be greater than your parent, where your parents failed, you will succeed in Jesus name.

Now When you look at 2 Kings 13 v 20 -21 just to use it as an example, because if you study Elijah, and I studied Elijah very well. I spent three solid years studying Elijah, because I like him. He was a powerful man, he was a holy man, he was a bold man, he was a man who stood in the presence of the living God, he was a man who was absolutely obedient to God, and he was a terror to the devil. So I love Elijah and I studied him very well. Recorded for us in the bible are seven major miracles that Elijah performed.

And I moved over to Elisha and I found that I love Elisha more, in fact all these years, am still studying Elijah, am still learning more from him. And I discovered that Elijah performed 14 miracles, Elijah raised one fellow from died; Elisha performed 13 miracles before he died and to make sure that what he did double that of his father, after he died, his bone raised the dead. I like Elisha!

And I am saying to somebody here today, because of the anointing you are going to receive today, your business will not die with you, your victory will outlive you.

Then you hear something from Jesus himself in John 14 v12 Jesus  Christ said the works that I did, you shall do also, but he didn’t stopped there, he said and greater work shall ye do. Because you are going to be operating in the new anointing, he said you will do even greater work than I did. when I study the bible I discovered this is true in Mark 5 v 25 -34 the woman with the issue of blood touched the helm of the garment of Jesus and was made whole, but when you get to Act 5 v 14 -16

The Lord says there is someone here tonight; he said before the end of this month, your number one adversary will begin to sweat.

By the time you get to Act 5 v 14 -16 the bible tells us that the shadow of Peter began to heal the sick; in the case of Jesus it was the helm of his garment, but Peter went a step higher and his shadow began to heal the sick.

Let me tell my children one more time, in the name that is above every other name, you will all be greater than I.  Whatever God has used me to do; He will use you to do greater works in Jesus name.

There is something about the new anointing, and that is the power to decree, the power to say something and it happens immediately. When mummy was leading us in Prayer for Nigeria, she mentioned 2 king 2 v 19- 22 there you will find Elisha pouring salt at the source of the spring at the city of Jericho and said “this water is healed from now on, there will be no more death, no more bareness from now on” and the bible says the water was healed according to the saying of Elisha as he said it.

The ability to decree and to have it happened immediately, it is very, very potent in the new anointing. Which is why I am going to share a testimony with you, before I do something that I believe the Holy Spirit want me to do tonight.

I have just returned from America, when we were there, we had an Holy Ghost rally and then it was testimonies time. One of my daughters got up to testify, she said” several years ago, I was seeking admission to the university. I came to you daddy, and I said “pray for me”, and you said “what do I want?” I said “I want admission into the university”, because you were busy; you said “that is alright, you will get the admission, go”. She said she was disappointed, she thought i was going to pray.  But since i didn’t do any other things she left. Two weeks later she got her admission.

She said then some years later, she wanted to go for post graduate, so she came back. “Daddy I want to do post graduate in such and such a university and admission there is very, very tough, I have applied and I need your prayers. She said I looked at her and said congratulations. Congratulations? Then she remembered the last time; first time I didn’t pray for her I just said you will get admission, this time I said congratulation.

So she went home rejoicing, she told her son when she got home, my daddy said congratulations! Some days later she got a letter from the university and the first thing they wrote there was DEAR MRS SO AND SO, CONGRATULTIONS.

I want to say to somebody here tonight, anywhere who needs breakthrough congratulations. Or maybe I should go a little further, is there anybody here who needs a decree? You need a decree concerning any situations in your life, then let me hear your amen loud and clear.

In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, everything you want God will do for you.

Beginning from this moment, anything called failure will never be found in your dictionary again, beginning from today, all those who think you are finished, will come and bow down before you. In the name that is above every other names; I decree before the end of this month, your testimony will be complete, if you receive that, let me hear you shout halleluiah!

Put your hands together for the Almighty God because it is done!

The Lord said there is someone here tonight, he said there is a miracle I have been keeping for you for a very long time, but you can receive it now.

Let me round up because I want us to pray tonight, we need this new anointing. Something specific about the new anointing, that I want to drive home tonight, because I have a feeling deep within me that the reason God said that the theme for November Holy Ghost service is WEEP NOT, is because God want to do something big.

And there is something the new anointing does and that is it lifts a siege. In 2king 7 v 1 -11 when Samaria was strictly besieged, so badly that women began to eat their children , Elisha spoke, he made a decree, he didn’t even preach, he didn’t pray he just said within 24 hours, they will be more than sufficient food for everybody, it was difficult to believe, but within 24 hours, the siege was lifted.

Many at times some of us don’t know what a siege is and I will try to give one or two example so you understand, at times when somebody is almost succeeding and he keeps on failing it might be because the fellow is under a siege. Maybe there are forces working against the fellow and the fellow can’t see but they are there, let me give you a classical example.

We know many at times, we go though fuel shortage in our country and there is fuel in a particular station, so you are on a long queue, they were selling to everybody before you and they were going and it comes to your turn and they say the fuel is finished that is terrible isn’t it?

But there is a worse situation; the fuel is not finished, it is your turn, the attendant says I am not selling anymore, I am tired, I am going home. You begged him, you said you will pay double, he said I am not selling. When you have a situation like that and I am giving that as an example, then it means there is a siege somewhere.

In Mark 5 v 25 -34 the Bible tells us that there was these woman, she started by menstruating normally, then the thing kept on pouring, kept pouring. She went from one physician to another, the bible says she spent all that she had, and instead of getting better, she grew worse.

There was a siege; a siege on her health, a siege on her money, there was a siege on her joy until the anointing destroy the yoke. In the name of the one who sent me, every one of you under why siege what over, that siege will be lifted today in Jesus name.

One of the preacher who spoke before me said something, he said God is not going to release new anointing on a sinner, he is absolutely correct, because nobody anoints a body that is not washed. If you want to anoint yourself, you want to put ointment on your body, you need to first wash, it is after you have washed that you apply the anointing.

He said it is true if you want the anointing of the Almighty God, his blood must first of all wash you of your sin, those have not born again, and who have not surrender their lives to Jesus Christ and they want anointing, they are not likely to get it.

Somebody who says he is a Christian, who is already backsliding, and you are already doing those things you said you will never do again; you are lying again, you are committing adultery again, and you said you want the new anointing, God says you cannot continue in sin and expect grace to abound. Even when somebody is already anointed and he comes into sin, the anointing will vanished.

So those of you who are here tonight and you know you must have this anointing. Because you need it to face the new battles that may be ahead, come and give your life to Jesus, let his blood wash you clean. Those of you, who are backsliders, come back to Jesus Christ, let him restore you, the new anointing is not something you can say “I will wait for”, and you need it now straight away.

Come now and then I will pray for your salvation and the door will be open to you to receive the new anointing, and the same is true for all backsliders. Come now….

And as you come, begin to pray to Jesus Christ, I don’t want to leave in sin anymore, I want to serve you oh Lord, I need the new anointing, I want your blood to wash me clean. Ask him to have mercy on you and save your soul, and the rest of us let us stretch our hand to this people, that God will save their souls …

In Jesus Mighty name we have prayed, savior I want to bless your holy name, I want to thank you for your word, thank you for this great moment of new anointing, accept our thanks in Jesus name. Father  you promised, that whosoever come to you, you will in no wise cast out, these people have come now, please receive them in Jesus name, save their souls tonight in Jesus name, let your blood wash away their sins in Jesus name, write their names in the book of life in Jesus name.

Any backsliders among them; restore fully in Jesus name. Father when you begin to release the new anointing, give them their own portion in Jesus name, thank you father, in Jesus mighty name we have prayed.

Glory be to your holy name.  Thank you for January, thank you for February, thank you for March, thank you for this Special Holy Ghost Service.

Accept out worship in Jesus name.

Tonight in the lives of all your children; those who are here and those who are listening by the internet all over the world, in all our lives do something special, do something new, do something glorious, do something miraculous and at the end of it all let your name be glorified.

In Jesus mighty name we have prayed.

Let someone shout halleluiah!

I want you to shake hand with two or three people and ask them are you expecting signs and wonders. And then you may please be seated.

Tonight is going to be a night you will never forget for the rest of your life; I don’t know exactly how the program will go, so whichever way it goes, but one thing I know is that God is visiting His people today.

When I became General Overseer, there were some people who were not sure whether it was God who called me or it was manipulated.  Then God began to give us a sign; anytime we call for a special program, that very day a baby boy will be born. All the time without fail!

Well tonight God decided to give us a sign, by 8pm tonight, the number of children born here is five and all of them are boys!

No mathematician can arrange that!

The Almighty God is telling someone here tonight, the night you have been waiting for has come at last.

Some days ago, I was in Ondo State and at a stage in the program I told them a story after which we prayed.  As I was praying for this program, the Lord told me to extend the blessing of that day to those of you who are going to be partakers of tonight.

We are going to start with that one.

So I’ll tell you the story and we will do what God wants us to do.

I told them the story of one of my daughters who came to me and said Daddy,

“I am pregnant”, I said congratulation! Because she was married. “How old is the pregnancy?” She said three month, I said good.

She said that is not why I have come; I want the baby to be a girl.  I said ah the little I know about science makes it known to me that by the time a baby is seventy two hour old in the womb, everything that child is going to be is  already completed; girl, boy, tall, short, everything done within 72hours.

So you have been pregnant for more than seventy two hours, so you have been pregnant for three month; the sex is already settled.

She said daddy, you are the one who thought us that with God all things are possible.

I said yes but… she said when you were teachings us you didn’t add but.

I said okay what do you want me to do?

She said you are not the one to determine the sex, she said all I want you to do is that I want you do is to agree with me.

I said fine infract why did you want it to be a girl?

She said so that she will grow up quickly and begin to wear my dress.

So we agreed, six month later, the baby came and she is a girl.

Now that my daughter is seating with me somewhere there on the altar now.

I know some of you will say well maybe she was a girl to start with.

But then a sister heard the testimony, a medical doctor in Luth.

She came and said, I have already got four daughters, I am pregnant now for 8 month and the scan has showed that it is a girl.

But my in law said you don’t give us a boy for our son now, we will drive you out of our house.

So I have come that you agree with me that it will be a boy. I said sister you are a medical doctor yourself.

She said I have not come to discuss medicine, you agree with that lady, you must agree with me.

I said no problem. I agree it shall be a boy.

A month later she delivered and he is a boy!

Why have I told you the story?

There might be somebody here tonight, who wants me to agree with him/her concerning something.

You will stand on your feet now and tell God what that thing is, that thing that only God can do. Not science, not medicine, not anything human. Something that only God can do. So you talk to God about it now….  In Jesus mighty name we have prayed.

My father and my God the Maker of heaven and earth, the One who called me and send me;

Tonight, with all these your children including those who are watching by the internet all over the world,

I am in total agreement with them whatever they have asked for give to them now in Jesus name.

Before the sun rises tomorrow, give them their testimonies in Jesus name.

Thank you because I know it is done.

And I am committing all those who are born in the month of March into your hands, three is the number of the Trinity; God the Father bless them in Jesus name, God the Son bless them in Jesus name, God the Holy spirit, bless them in Jesus name.

Let their blessings come in triples in Jesus name. And let them serve you till the end.

In Jesus mighty name we have prayed amen.

Let someone shout halleluiah!

When I was about to turn seventy, I asked God for seventy thousand children, He send them so quickly, by Last December I increased the number to hundred thousand. Tonight I have asked the Almighty God to increase the number to one seventy one.

If you agree, let me hear you say “we agree!”

But I have asked for something extra.

I have told Him that before this time next year, among those of you who are listening to me right now, I want God to raise seventy one billionaires.

Now I know there are some of you who will say, how can that possibly be?

That is why He is going to be God, all I want to say is if you happened to be one of them, please let me know as soon as possible, because He is going to turn you to a billionaire because we have work to do.

In April as usual, we are going to have a special Holy Ghost service for children.

When I said children that means all of us less than a thousand years old.

But seriously speaking from year’s back we discovered that when the dry season is changing to wet, several children suffer from several manners of attack and many of them die.

And we cry to God and He said we should arrange for our own children to be anointed every April and He said He will take care of the situation.

You see many of us don’t know how powerful our God is until we begin to hear testimonies.

A bullet from AK 47 went through the jacket, went through the shirt, went through the singlet and it got to the body and stopped.

That is my God and that is the One who will take care of all your children.

Make sure no child is left behind next month.

When the devil discovered that way God has been taking care of our children, he began to create a special traffic jam to hinder these children for coming.

But then we learnt our lessons; bring your children as early as possible don’t wait till evening. If they get here by 2pm there is plenty of space to roam around.

In the mighty name of Jesus, you will not bury your children.

And the THEME for next month is ARROWS OF THE MIGHTY.

That is what God called the children.

ACCELERATED PROMOTION

2Kings 2 v 9-15 and it came to pass when they have gone over that Elijah said unto Elisha, ask what I shall do for thee before I be taken away from thee, and Elisha said I pray thee, let the double portion of thy spirit be upon me.

And he said thou has asked a hard thing nevertheless, if thou see me when I am taken away from thee it shall be so unto thee, if not, it shall not be so.

And it came to pass as they still went on and talked that behold there appear a chariot of fire and forces of fire and parted them both asunder and Elijah went up to heaven by whirlwind.

And Elisha saw it and he cried my father, my Father the chariot of Israel and the chariot thereof and he saw him no more and he took hold of his own cloth and rend them into two pieces. He took up also the mantle of Elijah that fell from him and went to the bank of Jordan.

And he took up also the mantle of Elijah that fell from him and he smote the waters and he said where is the Lord God of Elijah and when he also has smitten the waters they parted hither and thither and Elisha went over.

And when the son of the prophet which were to view at Jericho saw him and they said the spirit of Elisha doth rest on Elijah and they came to meet him and bow themselves before him.

Promotion or progress can fall into seven basic categories;

Category one is called REGRESSION. Regression means there are forces beyond you that are progressively pushing you backward.

In Mark 5 v 25-34 the bible tells us the story of the woman with the issue of blood, she suffered many things of many physician, she spent all she had instead of getting better, she grew worse.

Forces beyond her control kept on pushing her backwards. Physically she grew worse, financially her money depleted until there were nothing left.

Regression!

There might be some people here tonight, when you look at where you are now compared to where you are last year, you saw that things instead of staying where they are have been going backward, whatever hands have been pushing you back, the fire of God will consume tonight in Jesus name.

A second category is called REPRESSION.

Repression means there are forces pushing you down and trying to hold you down, at anytime you tried to lift up there is this force that is saying no! Go back down.

In Judges 6 v 3-6 the Bible tells us that a certain group of people decided to torture the children of Israel.

When they are planting they don’t bother them, they wait till the time of harvest, as soon as they harvested their crops they move in like locust and gather everything and then leave. So these people will have to start again, and they will watched till they began to lift up their head and then they come and crush them.

Several years ago, when I was very tiny, there was a robber in Lagos, very notorious robber, so notorious that the waxed a record after him.

His name was Anikura and the song writer said concerning him; that Anikura won’t ask you not to trade, he won’t ask you not to gain, but he will make sure you don’t take the gain home.

Now that is repression! Now all those forces that have been pushing you down, in the name that is above every other name, the fire of God will consume tonight.

The next stage is called STAGNATION;

No progress at all, no forward movement, no upward movement, just stagnant like a pond.

In spite of all efforts in John 5 v 2 – 9 it tells us the story of a man who was sick for thirty eight years, always waiting for the staring of the pool of Bethesda.

When the angel will come down stirred the water, the first fellow to jump in will be made whole, as soon as the angel comes down, this man will begin towards the pool of water, before he got there somebody else would have jump in and he will have to go back and wait for another year.

There are some of us at the beginning of every year when they are saying happy New Year, you will say yes this must be my year but gradually January had become December and they discovered that there are still in the same place.

When I was at the University of Lagos as a student, there was a student there, I won’t mention his correct name, let’s just call him u dot, it’s very close to the name but that is not the real name.

He has been in the university for eight years, he has never gone beyond year one, he was changing faculties, changing department but he never left year one, went met there we left him there.

That is what is called stagnation. In the name of the One who made heaven and earth whatever force is holding stagnant shall be destroyed tonight in Jesus name.

Now the next stage is called RETARDATION:

Retardation means there is growth but it’s so slow that it becomes embarrassing.

When you see a child who is ten years old behaving like a child who is only three years old, you will say the child is retarded.

The problem with retardation is that they will see a little progress. But the progress is so little it becomes an embarrassment. Another way of talking about retardation is to call it trapped destiny.

In Genesis 49 v 1-4 the bible tells us that when Jacob was about to die, he called his children together and began to make pronouncement concerning each one.

He said concerning Reuben his first born; he said Reuben even though you are my first born, even though you have energy, you have power, you have everything going for you, he said Reuben you will not excel, from that day onward the destiny of Reuben was trapped.

I’ll give you another illustration; I met a man of God after we’ve met for some five years, I said how are things?

He said “all is well”, how is your church? He said it is good. I said “what is your attendant like now?” he said we are about a hundred and five.

I said but last time I saw you about five years ago, you were about a hundred five years ago, you are about hundred and five after five years!

Even if you are winning a soul per month by now you should have added at least sixty souls. He said pray for me, I think am suffering from the spirit of Retardation.

I am praying for everyone tonight who is suffering from any form of retardation, that spirit of retardation is destroyed in your life in Jesus name.

And then the next one is called the normal promotion; in other words you are making progress, steady regular, as you work hard, progress are coming at least every month they increase your salary, maybe once in five years, they remember you to promote you a little.

You see the problem with normal promotion is that it is normal. For the child of God that is not the plan of God.

In John 10 v 10 Jesus Christ said I have come that you may have life and have it more abundantly. Let me tell you the problem with normal promotion. I think I have given this illustration sometime before;

When you attend a state function (you must at least be important to a certain extent to have been invited) and then it is time for refreshment and they say all head of state will refresh at such and such a place.

All governors and minister at such and such a place.

Commissioners and so forth at such and such a place and they say all others you will refresh in the stadium.

I decree tonight that from this moment onward, you will leave the group of all others.

Thank you Father, the Lord said there is someone here tonight, he said Lazarus heard my voice and came out of the grave. He said that project will hear my voice tonight.

The Lord asked me to tell someone here tonight He said Elephant don’t grow smaller for having babies; He said the more souls you win the bigger you become.

The Lord said there is someone here tonight; He said none of your children will die small.

After normal promotion comes what we call ASSISTED PROMOTION.

Someone interested in your welfare intervenes and brings you to a level that you have not even qualified for. Yes you still work hard, but this time somebody says let us help this fellow. Let’s move him up higher.

I decree to someone here today; the one who will help you, even if the fellow is sleeping now, God will speak to Him in Jesus name.

One of my children who was preaching and he gave us an example of what I will call assisted promotion; Isaac said to Esau, go and get me food so I can bless you.

While papa was speaking, Mama heard and decided this blessing is not going to be for Esau it is going to be for Jacob. Mama did everything; she maneuvered everything and the blessing that will have been for Esau landed on Jacob.

I don’t know who I am talking to tonight, but from the East help is coming your way, from the west help is coming your way, from the North help is coming your way and even from the south help is coming your way.

I can tell you several stories on that, but there is a lot God wants to do tonight,

So that brings us finally to Accelerated promotion, this is a promotion that is completely unusual; you are at the bottom today, the next moment you are at the top.

A very good example is in 1Samuel 16 v 11- 13 it tells us the story of David who was in the bush looking at after goat and sheep and then suddenly a messenger came ‘David you are wanted at home”, what for?

I don’t know, but I see a man who looks like a prophet, then he came home and as soon as he came, God spoke to the prophet and said this is the person, this is the one we have been waiting for, anoint him, and suddenly they told David to kneel down, he knelt down, by the time he got up, he was already a king.

One moment, he was a shepherd boy the next moment he was a king that is what is called accelerated promotion.

Do you know there is someone here tonight; by the time you get home your promotion is already settled.

Have told some of you before, on the day we were getting married we went to the registry and then we saw something happening, there is a girl who was dressed for wedding but we couldn’t find the bridegroom, the man who said he was going to marry her ran away.

The girl nearly went mad but she survived.

After some time she married a soldier, unknown to her the boy that jilted her also joined the army.

And then God moved.

There was a military coup and then the husband of this girl became a governor.

And the boy who jilted her was assigned to be the Aid the camp for her husband.

So anytime this girl wanted to enter a car, the former husband to be was the one who will open the door.

I decree to someone here today, by the time your promotion is accelerated to the point where God will do it, all those who have been mocking you will be bowing down before you.

Because this is exactly what happened to Elisha.

As Elisha and Elijah were travelling, other sons of prophets they were saying to Elisha, ehn daddy son! Daddy son!

Do you know your water is about to dry behind the fish, your master is going today?

He said I know shut your mouth.

They were watching to see what will happen, but in the twinkling of an eye, the one they were mocking at, all of them came and bow down to him.

Do you know there are some people who are saying when they saw you getting ready, she is going again, Papa Holy Ghost service, Mama Holy Ghost service go well!.

In the Name that is above every other name, because of tonight this same people will come and bow down before you.

Let’s have some practical applications; let’s just take accelerated promotion in one or two practical area of our lives.

Daddy says there is someone here tonight, He asked me to tell you relax I will still your storm.

Daddy asked me to tell someone here tonight, He said you will never go hungry again.

He asked me to tell you there is someone here tonight; He said from now on anyone who tries to block your way shall be trampled to death.

Let’s take the area of health;

Let’s look at the example in Mark 2 v 1-12 there was a man who was completely helpless, paralyzed from neck downwards, the friends had to bath him, they had to cloth him, they had to feed him.

One day they got feed up, they heard that Jesus was near, they carried the man to where Jesus was, there was no room at the door, no room at the window but they were determined they won’t go home with that problem, so they climb the roof, tore the roof and lay the man at the feet of Jesus.

They carried him in, he walked back home. What they used to bring him in, he carried it back home.

There might be one or two people here tonight; that doctors have told you there is nothing they can do for you, in the name that is above every other name, the doctors will get a surprise.

Healings can be in categories, you can be getting gradually better, but God can heal in an instant.

The Almighty God will accelerate your healing tonight in Jesus name.

And then we can look at the area of bondage to forces of darkness.

Take Mark 5 v 1 – 20 the Bible tells us about the mad man of Garderen…

The Lord said there is someone here tonight; He said I will open for you a new season of glorious testimonies.

The mad man of Garderen, didn’t go for ten weeks of deliverance service, he didn’t spend all night with a deliverance minister, he was raving mad in the morning, within an hour, not only was he completely delivered, he became an evangelist for God.

He switched over from under the power of the devil to the mountain top on the side of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Several years ago, a bank manager ran mad; they had to get four hefty police men to grab him. They handcuffed him, they put chain on his feet and they were carrying him to Arrow (asylum), but in his madness he begged them, ‘take me to Redemption camp; I know if I get there I will be alright’.

I was in my first office near the expressway when they brought him and they told me the story and the way he was looking, he was as wild as anybody.

So I told the policemen he said if my feet touched redemption camp I will be free, let him come down. They ah! We knew what went through before we could capture him, pray for him in the car and we take him away.

I say no, bring him down loose him, they said we will hold you responsible, I said no problem, so they removed the chain, removed the handcuffs, he jumped out of the car as he landed, he said praise God!

He became completely normal.

I have good news for someone her today, it doesn’t matter how long the enemy had held you captive simply because you are listening to me now, receive your freedom in Jesus name.

But you know the better part of that story, he said to the policeman, he said I told you and they were all looking surprise, so they said to me sir, pray for us.

I said well if you will give your life to Jesus Christ first, they said with what we have seen we are ready to give our life to Jesus name.

He was a mad man; He was being taking to asylum, because of his experience, he won four souls in a single moment.

Not only are you going to be free, when you leave this place, you will begin to set the captives free.

Then let’s look at the area of material possession, when you read 2King 4 v 1 -7 it tells you the story of a woman who was so heavily in debt that creditors wanted to see her son to recover their money because there was nothing in the house that they could sell.

She cried to the man of God, the man of God prayed and gave instructions; go home do this, do this. By the time she returned not only had her debt been cleared, she had enough money to last her for the rest of her life.

I don’t know who this one is for, but in the name that is above every other names, God is going to accelerate you financially so mightily that poverty will become a stranger to you.

Many of you already know the story; I am telling it for the benefit of those of you who are hearing it for the first time and for the benefit of those of you who are doubting if you can be one of the seventy one billionaire!

Daddy says, “My son, don’t limit me to seventy one billionaire”

Father! As many billionaires as possible!

If you are going to be one of them, let me hear you say I am one of them.

You know the story of the Arab boy; who gave his life to Jesus but because they wanted to kill Him for converting to Christianity they wanted to kill him he ran away from his country, came to London and had no papers.

So he couldn’t get a good job and all he was doing was working in a fast food restaurant. Then one day a wealthy Arab came to London to buy houses but he couldn’t speak English.

So he would see a house that he likes, he would go to the fellow there and said me house I buy” and that fellow will say get away from me, who told you I wanted to sell my house.

After he has been going around for a while, he was hungry and tired and he saw a sign that they were selling food there, he branch there, sat down and was grumbling to himself in Arabic and the Arab boy went to serve him and herd him speaking in Arabic.

And said Sir, what’s the problem, and the man said Ah! You speak my language, the boy said yes. Do you speak English also?

The boy said yes. I want to buy houses, I need interpreter, I want you to come and interpret for me, for three days, the boy said sorry sir, if I go with you for three days, when I come back my job will be given to somebody else.  He said I will pay you well.  The boy said ‘how much?’

The man said ‘one million pounds per day,’ the boy said please don’t go away, he went to the owner of the restaurant, he said bye, bye’.

That one said if you go, if you come back I won’t take you, he said I will never come back.

There is some one here tonight; you are crossing the border of poverty forever.

The Lord said there is someone here tonight, he said those who are trying to catch up with you will soon discover, I made you number one and number one you will remain.

The Lord said there is someone here tonight, He said even big rivers have boundaries, He said but so that people will know that it is me in your life, I will make your blessing without boundaries.

Let’s look at the area of spiritual promotion; the text that we read tonight, in 2king 2 v 9-15 in the morning, Elisha was just a son of a farmer following a prophet around, by the evening he was the father of all sons of the prophets in the land.

Not only that, by the evening, he had doubled the power that Elijah ever had.

Several years ago at Ebutte metta Head quarters, when we come for workers meeting in the evening, pastors will seat on one side, workers will seat on the other side.

And there was this evening, one Sunday evening, we were doing a little bit of bible study before we pray, so I mentioned a particular passage and I asked everybody to begin to give their interpretation.

All the pastors gave their interpretation; It wasn’t anywhere what I was expecting so I turned to the workers “what do you understand by this passage”?

And one young worker got up and gave an accurate evaluation of the topic. So I said congratulation pastor. Soon as he heard me say that he grabbed his chair and moved to the side of the pastors. The pastors were saying, no, no it’s a mistake.

He said which mistake?

General overseer calls me pastor, what else do I need?

I said my son, anointing with oil will come but from now on you are pastor.

I am saying to somebody here, the anointing service may come later, but your spiritual promotion is done tonight.

Let me round up quickly so that we can do the next thing.

He said before I round up, I should tell someone that celebrations come and go, he said but I will make your  own celebration last forever.

The Lord say there is someone here, He said I will start you with unusual blessing, I will move you on to overwhelming blessing and I will end you up with unimaginable blessing.

You see whether you go up or not depends on actually who is holding your hand; if God is the one holding your hand; the bible says you will go from glory to glory.

Your promotion will be accelerated and then accelerated, then accelerated. But if you decide that it is through satanic means you are going to get your promotion; all you can get ready for is shame.

There is a funny story, the fellow concern is one of the Pastors, maybe you’ve heard him sharing his testimony.  Before he gave his life to Jesus, everybody knows that for you to have unusual promotion, you need a supernatural force.

So he was running around with one false prophet who told him that he must go to the bar beach to wash in the ocean at night. So he went to the bar beach, big man drove his car to the bar beach, removed his clothes, place it on the car and was in the bar beach.

Thank God the wave didn’t wash him away. But one mad man was passing by, saw his clothes and took them away. By the time big man came back, no clothe! So ‘what do I do know, at least I have to go back home, fortunately it was night, so he entered his car and I think his car was also naked with him.

When they got to police check point, when they showed their torch light into the car and saw naked men, the police ran, they thought they were ghost.

One day very soon, you will look back at your years of suffering and laugh.

If you are holding onto God, he will promote you from Glory to glory, if you are holding onto the devil; he will drag you lower and lower.

And if you think you can hold God with one hand with God and hold the devil with the other, you will soon discover what God said, that if you want to be cold be cold, if you want to be hot be hot, he said but if you are Luke warm, he said he will spew you out of his mouth, that is why I am appealing to you tonight, because this is a night you will never, never forget, make up your mind, with whom do you want to go?

Is it with God or with the devil? If you want to go with the devil, take my advice go all the way; do everything evil, make money by any method, so that when you get to hell, you will tell the devil, at least I tried.

If you want to belong to God, go with him all the way.

This ideal of being a Christian and then behaving like the child of the devil must stop. If you want to belong to Christ, let the whole world know you belong to Christ and then Christ will show himself mighty on your behalf.

Now I know some of you have given your life to Jesus Christ tonight, but some of you came later, So if you are not ere when the first altar call was made and now you want to surrender your life to Jesus, I want you to come quickly now, come and give your life to Jesus.

Let me pray that God will save your soul, so that from now, it will be God who will be puling you up every day, because accelerated promotion, requires divine intervention

So if you want to give your life to Christ tonight, come now….

Those of you who are already in the front talk to the Almighty God ask Him to be merciful unto you, ask him to safe your soul, ask him to forgive you your sin, ask him to give you a new beginning, call on him now, promise him that you will serve Him for the rest of your life, that He will be your Lord as soon as he becomes your savior.

And the rest of us lets stretch our hands toward these people that the almighty God will have mercy on them, that the savior will save their souls, that he will cleanse them with his blood, let’s intercede from them for one minute.

… In Jesus mighty name we have prayed.

Savior, we bless your name, we give you all glory, we give you all honor, we ask that you please accept our thanks in Jesus name.

On behalf of all these your children who have come forward accept our thanks in Jesus name.

Father please remember your promise that who whosoever will come unto you, you will in no wise cast out, they have come to you now; please receive them in Jesus name, save their souls in Jesus name.

Wipe away their sins with your blood in Jesus name, write their name in the book of life in Jesus name, give them a brand new beginning now in Jesus name and from now on anytime they call on you please answer them by fire.

In Jesus mighty name we have prayed.

Those of you who have come forward shout halleluiah!

Am rejoicing with you tonight, because beginning from now by the special grace of God, I will be praying for you and very soon you will be receiving miracle and then you will know there is somebody somewhere praying for you.

Genesis 49. The last words of Jacob. Jacob’s prophecy concerning his sons

1 And Jacob called unto his sons, and said, Gather yourselves together, that I may tell you that which shall befall you in the last days. 2 Gather yourselves together, and hear, ye sons of Jacob; and hearken unto Israel your father. 3 Reuben, thou art my firstborn, my might, and the beginning of my strength, the excellency of dignity, and the excellency of power: 4 Unstable as water, thou shalt not excel; because thou wentest up to thy father’s bed; then defiledst thou it: he went up to my couch.

5 Simeon and Levi are brethren; instruments of cruelty are in their habitations. 6 O my soul, come not thou into their secret; unto their assembly, mine honour, be not thou united: for in their anger they slew a man, and in their selfwill they digged down a wall. 7 Cursed be their anger, for it was fierce; and their wrath, for it was cruel: I will divide them in Jacob, and scatter them in Israel.

8 Judah, thou art he whom thy brethren shall praise: thy hand shall be in the neck of thine enemies; thy father’s children shall bow down before thee. 9 Judah is a lion’s whelp: from the prey, my son, thou art gone up: he stooped down, he couched as a lion, and as an old lion; who shall rouse him up? 10 The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto him shall the gathering of the people be. 11 Binding his foal unto the vine, and his ass’s colt unto the choice vine; he washed his garments in wine, and his clothes in the blood of grapes: 12 His eyes shall be red with wine, and his teeth white with milk.

13 Zebulun shall dwell at the haven of the sea; and he shall be for an haven of ships; and his border shall be unto Zidon. 14 Issachar is a strong ass couching down between two burdens: 15 And he saw that rest was good, and the land that it was pleasant; and bowed his shoulder to bear, and became a servant unto tribute. 16 Dan shall judge his people, as one of the tribes of Israel. 17 Dan shall be a serpent by the way, an adder in the path, that biteth the horse heels, so that his rider shall fall backward. 18 I have waited for thy salvation, O LORD. 19 Gad, a troop shall overcome him: but he shall overcome at the last. 20 Out of Asher his bread shall be fat, and he shall yield royal dainties. 21 Naphtali is a hind let loose: he giveth goodly words.

22 Joseph is a fruitful bough, even a fruitful bough by a well; whose branches run over the wall: 23 The archers have sorely grieved him, and shot at him, and hated him: 24 But his bow abode in strength, and the arms of his hands were made strong by the hands of the mighty God of Jacob; (from thence is the shepherd, the stone of Israel:) 25 Even by the God of thy father, who shall help thee; and by the Almighty, who shall bless thee with blessings of heaven above, blessings of the deep that lieth under, blessings of the breasts, and of the womb: 26 The blessings of thy father have prevailed above the blessings of my progenitors unto the utmost bound of the everlasting hills: they shall be on the head of Joseph, and on the crown of the head of him that was separate from his brethren. 27 Benjamin shall ravin as a wolf: in the morning he shall devour the prey, and at night he shall divide the spoil.

28 All these are the twelve tribes of Israel: and this is it that their father spake unto them, and blessed them; every one according to his blessing he blessed them. 29 And he charged them, and said unto them, I am to be gathered unto my people: bury me with my fathers in the cave that is in the field of Ephron the Hittite, 30 In the cave that is in the field of Machpelah, which is before Mamre, in the land of Canaan, which Abraham bought with the field of Ephron the Hittite for a possession of a buryingplace. 31 There they buried Abraham and Sarah his wife; there they buried Isaac and Rebekah his wife; and there I buried Leah. 32 The purchase of the field and of the cave that is therein was from the children of Heth. 33 And when Jacob had made an end of commanding his sons, he gathered up his feet into the bed, and yielded up the ghost, and was gathered unto his people.

May GOD bless Nigeria, America and Israel and take care of us; May GOD make His face shine upon us, And be gracious to us; May the LORD lift up His countenance upon us, And give us peace, In Jesus Christ Name, we pray! Amen!

Genesis 44. Joseph’s final test of his brothers. The missing cup

Genesis 44. Joseph’s final test of his brothers. The missing cup

1 And he commanded the steward of his house, saying, Fill the men’s sacks with food, as much as they can carry, and put every man’s money in his sack‘s mouth. 2 And put my cup, the silver cup, in the sack’s mouth of the youngest, and his corn money. And he did according to the word that Joseph had spoken. 3 As soon as the morning was light, the men were sent away, they and their asses. 4 And when they were gone out of the city, and not yet far off, Joseph said unto his steward, Up, follow after the men; and when thou dost overtake them, say unto them, Wherefore have ye rewarded evil for good? 5 Is not this it in which my lord drinketh, and whereby indeed he divineth? ye have done evil in so doing. 6 And he overtook them, and he spake unto them these same words. 7 And they said unto him, Wherefore saith my lord these words? God forbid that thy servants should do according to this thing: 8 Behold, the money, which we found in our sacks’ mouths, we brought again unto thee out of the land of Canaan: how then should we steal out of thy lord’s house silver or gold? 9 With whomsoever of thy servants it be found, both let him die, and we also will be my lord’s bondmen. 10 And he said, Now also let it be according unto your words: he with whom it is found shall be my servant; and ye shall be blameless. 11 Then they speedily took down every man his sack to the ground, and opened every man his sack. 12 And he searched, and began at the eldest, and left at the youngest: and the cup was found in Benjamin’s sack. 13 Then they rent their clothes, and laded every man his ass, and returned to the city. 14 And Judah and his brethren came to Joseph’s house; for he was yet there: and they fell before him on the ground. 15 And Joseph said unto them, What deed is this that ye have done? wot ye not that such a man as I can certainly divine? 16 And Judah said, What shall we say unto my lord? what shall we speak? or how shall we clear ourselves? God hath found out the iniquity of thy servants: behold, we are my lord’s servants, both we, and he also with whom the cup is found. 17 And he said, God forbid that I should do so: but the man in whose hand the cup is found, he shall be my servant; and as for you, get you up in peace unto your father.

18 Then Judah came near unto him, and said, Oh my lord, let thy servant, I pray thee, speak a word in my lord’s ears, and let not thine anger burn against thy servant: for thou art even as Pharaoh. 19 My lord asked his servants, saying, Have ye a father, or a brother? 20 And we said unto my lord, We have a father, an old man, and a child of his old age, a little one; and his brother is dead, and he alone is left of his mother, and his father loveth him. 21 And thou saidst unto thy servants, Bring him down unto me, that I may set mine eyes upon him. 22 And we said unto my lord, The lad cannot leave his father: for if he should leave his father, his father would die. 23 And thou saidst unto thy servants, Except your youngest brother come down with you, ye shall see my face no more. 24 And it came to pass when we came up unto thy servant my father, we told him the words of my lord. 25 And our father said, Go again, and buy us a little food. 26 And we said, We cannot go down: if our youngest brother be with us, then will we go down: for we may not see the man’s face, except our youngest brother be with us. 27 And thy servant my father said unto us, Ye know that my wife bare me two sons: 28 And the one went out from me, and I said, Surely he is torn in pieces; and I saw him not since: 29 And if ye take this also from me, and mischief befall him, ye shall bring down my gray hairs with sorrow to the grave. 30 Now therefore when I come to thy servant my father, and the lad be not with us; seeing that his life is bound up in the lad’s life; 31 It shall come to pass, when he seeth that the lad is not with us, that he will die: and thy servants shall bring down the gray hairs of thy servant our father with sorrow to the grave. 32 For thy servant became surety for the lad unto my father, saying, If I bring him not unto thee, then I shall bear the blame to my father for ever. 33 Now therefore, I pray thee, let thy servant abide instead of the lad a bondman to my lord; and let the lad go up with his brethren. 34 For how shall I go up to my father, and the lad be not with me? lest peradventure I see the evil that shall come on my father.

May GOD bless Nigeria, America and Israel and take care of us; May GOD make His face shine upon us, And be gracious to us; May the LORD lift up His countenance upon us, And give us peace, In Jesus Christ Name, we pray! Amen!

Genesis 43. Joseph’s brothers return to Egypt with Benjamin

Genesis 43. Joseph’s brothers return to Egypt with Benjamin

1 And the famine was sore in the land. 2 And it came to pass, when they had eaten up the corn which they had brought out of Egypt, their father said unto them, Go again, buy us a little food. 3 And Judah spake unto him, saying, The man did solemnly protest unto us, saying, Ye shall not see my face, except your brother be with you. 4 If thou wilt send our brother with us, we will go down and buy thee food: 5 But if thou wilt not send him, we will not go down: for the man said unto us, Ye shall not see my face, except your brother be with you. 6 And Israel said, Wherefore dealt ye so ill with me, as to tell the man whether ye had yet a brother? 7 And they said, The man asked us straitly of our state, and of our kindred, saying, Is your father yet alive? have ye another brother? and we told him according to the tenor of these words: could we certainly know that he would say, Bring your brother down? 8 And Judah said unto Israel his father, Send the lad with me, and we will arise and go; that we may live, and not die, both we, and thou, and also our little ones. 9 I will be surety for him; of my hand shalt thou require him: if I bring him not unto thee, and set him before thee, then let me bear the blame for ever: 10 For except we had lingered, surely now we had returned this second time.

11 And their father Israel said unto them, If it must be so now, do this; take of the best fruits in the land in your vessels, and carry down the man a present, a little balm, and a little honey, spices, and myrrh, nuts, and almonds: 12 And take double money in your hand; and the money that was brought again in the mouth of your sacks, carry it again in your hand; peradventure it was an oversight: 13 Take also your brother, and arise, go again unto the man: 14 And God Almighty give you mercy before the man, that he may send away your other brother, and Benjamin. If I be bereaved of my children, I am bereaved.

15 And the men took that present, and they took double money in their hand, and Benjamin; and rose up, and went down to Egypt, and stood before Joseph. 16 And when Joseph saw Benjamin with them, he said to the ruler of his house, Bring these men home, and slay, and make ready; for these men shall dine with me at noon. 17 And the man did as Joseph bade; and the man brought the men into Joseph’s house. 18 And the men were afraid, because they were brought into Joseph’s house; and they said, Because of the money that was returned in our sacks at the first time are we brought in; that he may seek occasion against us, and fall upon us, and take us for bondmen, and our asses. 19 And they came near to the steward of Joseph’s house, and they communed with him at the door of the house, 20 And said, O sir, we came indeed down at the first time to buy food: 21 And it came to pass, when we came to the inn, that we opened our sacks, and, behold, every man’s money was in the mouth of his sack, our money in full weight: and we have brought it again in our hand. 22 And other money have we brought down in our hands to buy food: we cannot tell who put our money in our sacks. 23 And he said, Peace be to you, fear not: your God, and the God of your father, hath given you treasure in your sacks: I had your money. And he brought Simeon out unto them. 24 And the man brought the men into Joseph’s house, and gave them water, and they washed their feet; and he gave their asses provender. 25 And they made ready the present against Joseph came at noon: for they heard that they should eat bread there.

26 And when Joseph came home, they brought him the present which was in their hand into the house, and bowed themselves to him to the earth. 27 And he asked them of their welfare, and said, Is your father well, the old man of whom ye spake? Is he yet alive? 28 And they answered, Thy servant our father is in good health, he is yet alive. And they bowed down their heads, and made obeisance. 29 And he lifted up his eyes, and saw his brother Benjamin, his mother’s son, and said, Is this your younger brother, of whom ye spake unto me? And he said, God be gracious unto thee, my son. 30 And Joseph made haste; for his bowels did yearn upon his brother: and he sought where to weep; and he entered into his chamber, and wept there. 31 And he washed his face, and went out, and refrained himself, and said, Set on bread. 32 And they set on for him by himself, and for them by themselves, and for the Egyptians, which did eat with him, by themselves: because the Egyptians might not eat bread with the Hebrews; for that is an abomination unto the Egyptians. 33 And they sat before him, the firstborn according to his birthright, and the youngest according to his youth: and the men marvelled one at another. 34 And he took and sent messes unto them from before him: but Benjamin’s mess was five times so much as any of theirs. And they drank, and were merry with him.

Genesis 38. Judah and Tamar

1 And it came to pass at that time, that Judah went down from his brethren, and turned in to a certain Adullamite, whose name was Hirah. 2 And Judah saw there a daughter of a certain Canaanite, whose name was Shuah; and he took her, and went in unto her. 3 And she conceived, and bare a son; and he called his name Er. 4 And she conceived again, and bare a son; and she called his name Onan. 5 And she yet again conceived, and bare a son; and called his name Shelah: and he was at Chezib, when she bare him. 6 And Judah took a wife for Er his firstborn, whose name was Tamar. 7 And Er, Judah’s firstborn, was wicked in the sight of the LORD; and the LORD slew him. 8 And Judah said unto Onan, Go in unto thy brother’s wife, and marry her, and raise up seed to thy brother. 9 And Onan knew that the seed should not be his; and it came to pass, when he went in unto his brother’s wife, that he spilled it on the ground, lest that he should give seed to his brother. 10 And the thing which he did displeased the LORD: wherefore he slew him also. 11 Then said Judah to Tamar his daughter in law, Remain a widow at thy father’s house, till Shelah my son be grown: for he said, Lest peradventure he die also, as his brethren did. And Tamar went and dwelt in her father’s house.

12 And in process of time the daughter of Shuah Judah’s wife died; and Judah was comforted, and went up unto his sheepshearers to Timnath, he and his friend Hirah the Adullamite. 13 And it was told Tamar, saying, Behold thy father in law goeth up to Timnath to shear his sheep. 14 And she put her widow’s garments off from her, and covered her with a veil, and wrapped herself, and sat in an open place, which is by the way to Timnath; for she saw that Shelah was grown, and she was not given unto him to wife. 15 When Judah saw her, he thought her to be an harlot; because she had covered her face. 16 And he turned unto her by the way, and said, Go to, I pray thee, let me come in unto thee; (for he knew not that she was his daughter in law.) And she said, What wilt thou give me, that thou mayest come in unto me? 17 And he said, I will send thee a kid from the flock. And she said, Wilt thou give me a pledge, till thou send it? 18 And he said, What pledge shall I give thee? And she said, Thy signet, and thy bracelets, and thy staff that is in thine hand. And he gave it her, and came in unto her, and she conceived by him. 19 And she arose, and went away, and laid by her veil from her, and put on the garments of her widowhood. 20 And Judah sent the kid by the hand of his friend the Adullamite, to receive his pledge from the woman’s hand: but he found her not. 21 Then he asked the men of that place, saying, Where is the harlot, that was openly by the way side? And they said, There was no harlot in this place. 22 And he returned to Judah, and said, I cannot find her; and also the men of the place said, that there was no harlot in this place. 23 And Judah said, Let her take it to her, lest we be shamed: behold, I sent this kid, and thou hast not found her.

24 And it came to pass about three months after, that it was told Judah, saying, Tamar thy daughter in law hath played the harlot; and also, behold, she is with child by whoredom. And Judah said, Bring her forth, and let her be burnt. 25 When she was brought forth, she sent to her father in law, saying, By the man, whose these are, am I with child: and she said, Discern, I pray thee, whose are these, the signet, and bracelets, and staff. 26 And Judah acknowledged them, and said, She hath been more righteous than I; because that I gave her not to Shelah my son. And he knew her again no more. 27 And it came to pass in the time of her travail, that, behold, twins were in her womb. 28 And it came to pass, when she travailed, that the one put out his hand: and the midwife took and bound upon his hand a scarlet thread, saying, This came out first. 29 And it came to pass, as he drew back his hand, that, behold, his brother came out: and she said, How hast thou broken forth? this breach be upon thee: therefore his name was called Pharez. 30 And afterward came out his brother, that had the scarlet thread upon his hand: and his name was called Zarah.

Joel 3. God will judge the nations. God Blesses His People

1 For, behold, in those days, and in that time, when I shall bring again the captivity of Judah and Jerusalem, 2 I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there for my people and for my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and parted my land. 3 And they have cast lots for my people; and have given a boy for an harlot, and sold a girl for wine, that they might drink. 4 Yea, and what have ye to do with me, O Tyre, and Zidon, and all the coasts of Palestine? will ye render me a recompense? and if ye recompense me, swiftly and speedily will I return your recompense upon your own head; 5 Because ye have taken my silver and my gold, and have carried into your temples my goodly pleasant things: 6 The children also of Judah and the children of Jerusalem have ye sold unto the Grecians, that ye might remove them far from their border. 7 Behold, I will raise them out of the place whither ye have sold them, and will return your recompense upon your own head: 8 And I will sell your sons and your daughters into the hand of the children of Judah, and they shall sell them to the Sabeans, to a people far off: for the LORD hath spoken it.

9 Proclaim ye this among the Gentiles; Prepare war, wake up the mighty men, let all the men of war draw near; let them come up: 10 Beat your plowshares into swords, and your pruninghooks into spears: let the weak say, I am strong. 11 Assemble yourselves, and come, all ye heathen, and gather yourselves together round about: thither cause thy mighty ones to come down, O LORD. 12 Let the heathen be wakened, and come up to the valley of Jehoshaphat: for there will I sit to judge all the heathen round about. 13 Put ye in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe: come, get you down; for the press is full, the vats overflow; for their wickedness is great. 14 Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision: for the day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision. 15 The sun and the moon shall be darkened, and the stars shall withdraw their shining. 16 The LORD also shall roar out of Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the heavens and the earth shall shake: but the LORD will be the hope of his people, and the strength of the children of Israel. 17 So shall ye know that I am the LORD your God dwelling in Zion, my holy mountain: then shall Jerusalem be holy, and there shall no strangers pass through her any more.

18 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the mountains shall drop down new wine, and the hills shall flow with milk, and all the rivers of Judah shall flow with waters, and a fountain shall come forth of the house of the LORD, and shall water the valley of Shittim. 19 Egypt shall be a desolation, and Edom shall be a desolate wilderness, for the violence against the children of Judah, because they have shed innocent blood in their land. 20 But Judah shall dwell for ever, and Jerusalem from generation to generation. 21 For I will cleanse their blood that I have not cleansed: for the LORD dwelleth in Zion.

May GOD bless Nigeria, America and Israel and take care of us; May GOD make His face shine upon us, And be gracious to us; May the LORD lift up His countenance upon us, And give us peace, In Jesus Christ Name, we pray! Amen!

Isaiah 11. The Righteous Reign of the Messiah. The Peaceful Kingdom. Our LORD Jesus Christ. God’s people will come back home. Peace at last

1 And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots: 2 And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD; 3 And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the LORD: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears: 4 But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and he shall smite the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked. 5 And righteousness shall be the girdle of his loins, and faithfulness the girdle of his reins. 6 The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them. 7 And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox. 8 And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice’ den. 9 They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.

10 And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be glorious. 11 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea. 12 And he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth. 13 The envy also of Ephraim shall depart, and the adversaries of Judah shall be cut off: Ephraim shall not envy Judah, and Judah shall not vex Ephraim. 14 But they shall fly upon the shoulders of the Philistines toward the west; they shall spoil them of the east together: they shall lay their hand upon Edom and Moab; and the children of Ammon shall obey them. 15 And the LORD shall utterly destroy the tongue of the Egyptian sea; and with his mighty wind shall he shake his hand over the river, and shall smite it in the seven streams, and make men go over dryshod. 16 And there shall be an highway for the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria; like as it was to Israel in the day that he came up out of the land of Egypt.

Isaiah 3. Chaos in Jerusalem. Judgment in Judah. The LORD Judges His people. A warning to the women of Jerusalem

English: Jerusalem Municipality, Kikar Safra.

Isaiah 3. Chaos in Jerusalem. Judgment in Judah. The LORD Judges His people. A warning to the women of Jerusalem

1 For, behold, the Lord, the LORD of hosts, doth take away from Jerusalem and from Judah the stay and the staff, the whole stay of bread, and the whole stay of water. 2 The mighty man, and the man of war, the judge, and the prophet, and the prudent, and the ancient, 3 The captain of fifty, and the honourable man, and the counsellor, and the cunning artificer, and the eloquent orator. 4 And I will give children to be their princes, and babes shall rule over them. 5 And the people shall be oppressed, every one by another, and every one by his neighbour: the child shall behave himself proudly against the ancient, and the base against the honourable. 6 When a man shall take hold of his brother of the house of his father, saying, Thou hast clothing, be thou our ruler, and let this ruin be under thy hand: 7 In that day shall he swear, saying, I will not be an healer; for in my house is neither bread nor clothing: make me not a ruler of the people. 8 For Jerusalem is ruined, and Judah is fallen: because their tongue and their doings are against the LORD, to provoke the eyes of his glory.

9 The show of their countenance doth witness against them; and they declare their sin as Sodom, they hide it not. Woe unto their soul! for they have rewarded evil unto themselves. 10 Say ye to the righteous, that it shall be well with him: for they shall eat the fruit of their doings. 11 Woe unto the wicked! it shall be ill with him: for the reward of his hands shall be given him. 12 As for my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. O my people, they which lead thee cause thee to err, and destroy the way of thy paths. 13 The LORD standeth up to plead, and standeth to judge the people. 14 The LORD will enter into judgment with the ancients of his people, and the princes thereof: for ye have eaten up the vineyard; the spoil of the poor is in your houses. 15 What mean ye that ye beat my people to pieces, and grind the faces of the poor? saith the Lord GOD of hosts.

16 Moreover the LORD saith, Because the daughters of Zion are haughty, and walk with stretched forth necks and wanton eyes, walking and mincing as they go, and making a tinkling with their feet: 17 Therefore the Lord will smite with a scab the crown of the head of the daughters of Zion, and the LORD will discover their secret parts. 18 In that day the Lord will take away the bravery of their tinkling ornaments about their feet, and their cauls, and their round tires like the moon, 19 The chains, and the bracelets, and the mufflers, 20 The bonnets, and the ornaments of the legs, and the headbands, and the tablets, and the earrings, 21 The rings, and nose jewels, 22 The changeable suits of apparel, and the mantles, and the wimples, and the crisping pins, 23 The glasses, and the fine linen, and the hoods, and the veils. 24 And it shall come to pass, that instead of sweet smell there shall be stink; and instead of a girdle a rent; and instead of well set hair baldness; and instead of a stomacher a girding of sackcloth; and burning instead of beauty. 25 Thy men shall fall by the sword, and thy mighty in the war. 26 And her gates shall lament and mourn; and she being desolate shall sit upon the ground.

May GOD bless Nigeria, America and Israel and take care of us; May GOD make His face shine upon us, And be gracious to us; May the LORD lift up His countenance upon us, And give us peace, In Jesus Christ Name, we pray! Amen!

Trusting God in times of darkness. God always has a rainbow planned for those who turn their lives over to Him

Trusting God in times of darkness.  God always has a rainbow planned for those who turn their lives over to Him.

The people of Judah were on their way into captivity, and Habakkuk was just one of the prophets that God used to deliver His message of judgment and repentance. Judah’s sin and disobedience had grown to such a proportion that God knew He had to do something to stop their downward spiral. The nation needed to turn back to the Lord and begin to worship Him as their only God. Therefore, He allowed them to face captivity in a foreign land. As promised, Judah was invaded, and most of the people were deported to Babylon. It was there that King Nebuchadnezzar ruled over them.

Like many of us, Habakkuk felt the weight of what was about to come, and he was not settled with the matter at all. In fact, he became anxious and cried out, “How long, O LORD, will I call for help, and You will not hear?” (1:2) As long as life runs along well, we rarely feel the need to ask God for help. However, the moment the skies of our lives turn dark and stormy, we immediately cry out to Him.

You may be a Christian who has worshipped the Lord most of your life. In fact, you consistently take time to be with Him in prayer and praise. However, difficulty has come, and you wonder what you will do. Not all suffering is the result of sin. It is true that Judah needed a course correction or they would have totally abandoned their faith. This was not God’s desire for the nation He loved. Nor was it on track with His promise to Abraham and David.

Other times, suffering comes in order to prepare us for an even greater blessing. While the storms of life may descend on us without warning, God always has a rainbow planned for those who turn their lives over to Him and trust Him even in the most difficult circumstances.

May Our God The Almighty prosper Nigeria and Israel and defend us from all our enemies in Jesus Christ Name, Amen!

overcoming spiritual dryness

A study Bible.

Image via Wikipedia

Sin is another reason we feel dry and distant from God. The nation of Judah struggled with both of these problems. They were too busy, and they began to worship pagan gods – knowing all along that the Lord had told them, “You shall have no other gods before Me.” (Deuteronomy 5:7) Yet they ignored His command and suffered for it.

Yielding to sin and being too busy to worship God quickly leads to a divided mind and heart. If we continue along this track, we will begin to spend more and more time doing other things and less time in prayer with the One who loves us the most and died for our sins. Before we know it, we will feel tired, drained of energy, and just plain worn out. This is when Satan’s forces begin to tempt us with sin.

Even in a world of turmoil, God wants to spend time with you. Relationship is at the core of His very being, and He desires your fellowship. How long has it been since someone has told you that he or she wants to be with you – just to talk and listen to what you have to say? God wants to do this for you.

Like our nation today, the nation of Judah was in desperate need of a revival. However, in order for this to happen, the people must express their need for God and, most of all, their desire to know Him in a personal way.

Do you feel spiritually dry? Maybe you have tried unsuccessfully to revive yourself through a home Bible study or an occasional visit to church. Or perhaps you go to church every Sunday, yet you feel dry inside. If this is the case, know that you can experience a personal revival the moment you confess your need to the Lord. His care for you is unconditional. The instant you do this, He will turn on heaven’s shower of refreshment and breathe new life into your heart and soul.

How angels fight our battles for us.

How angels fight our battles for us

2 Chronicles 20:22

Jehoshaphat was stunned. He had just received word that three well-trained armies were coming against him and the nation of Judah. These were Judah’s neighbours—people they had allowed to live near them in peace.

Fear immediately gripped the hearts of the people of Judah. However, they refused to panic. Instead, the king turned to God through prayer. In fact, the entire nation prayed and fasted, and God responded with a powerful message. In 2 Chronicles 20:12, the king cried out to God, “We are powerless before this great multitude who are coming against us; nor do we know what to do, but our eyes are on You.”

Can you imagine the blessing that God received from the proclamation of His people’s total dependence on Him? “All Judah was standing before the Lord, with their infants, their wives and their children” (v. 13). In other words, they were waiting expectantly for God to answer. Their backs were against the wall. The way before them was shut off. There was no hope outside of the hope they had in God.

Have you ever felt this way? If you have, read on. God did not keep His people waiting. He spoke to them through a young prophet. “Do not fear or be dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours but God’s” (v. 15). Then He told them what to do, but the solution required lots of faith. They were to march into battle—but not with their warriors leading the way. Instead, they were to be led into battle by their choir!

The Devil hates praise, and he despises worship given to God. Judah’s enemies heard them coming and were thrown into confusion. When Judah showed up on the scene the battle already had been fought and won by God. Any time God instructs you to wait, sing, trust Him, or be still before Him, you can believe that He has a fleet of angels ready on your behalf. This is what He did for Judah, and He will do the same for you.

May God Almighty prosper Nigeria and Israel and defend us from all our enemies in Jesus Christ Name, Amen!
