Jesus Is The Good Shepard. Jesus Is The Good Shepherd.

John_10-11: I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.

John_10-11: I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.

I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture. […] I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep. —John 10: 9, 11

Throughout the ancient Mediterranean world, the shepherd was a common sight. The responsibility and attention that it took to tend and care for the sheep was vital. And the shepherd is often used throughout the old testament as a symbol of leadership and the responsibilities that come with it.

When Jesus came, He turned that familiar concept upside down.

Instead of speaking about the leadership and power that a shepherd must have over his flock, He chose to focus on how much the shepherd will sacrifice to protect and care for the sheep.

As our Good Shepherd, we know that Jesus sacrificed himself so that we might live. He was willing to pay any price to bring His flock home to the One True Father, and He lived out His life just as God desired for us to live! He promised that His sheep would know his voice in John 10:27.

No matter what you may be facing, no matter what difficulties you have, you always have a Good Shepherd who is calling you, guiding your steps in love in order to bring you to a place of freedom and fulfillment.

Take some time, today to meditate on the voice of the Shepherd. I am believing, with you, that He will answer your call and He will return you to His flock, where you will be blessed and loved as a child of God!

Thank You Jesus.

John_10-11: I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.

One Of The Earliest Jobs That Man Engaged In After The Fall Was That Of Shepherding Animals. Abel Was Described As A Shepherd In Genesis 4:2. The Job Of A Shepherd Is A Difficult One, And It Involves A Lot Of Discomfort And Sacrifice. Jacob’s Testimony In Genesis 31:40 Should Give You An Idea Of What It Takes To Be A Shepherd. He Said:
“Thus I Was; In The Day The Drought Consumed Me, And The Frost By Night; And My Sleep Departed From Mine Eyes.”
However, There Are Different Kinds Of Shepherds. There Are Shepherds Who Do The Work Purely For Monetary Consideration: These Are Referred To As Hirelings. The Slightest Inconvenience Or Threat Encountered While Watching Over The Sheep Puts The Hireling To Flight. There Are Also Regular Shepherds, Who Show Some Care For The Sheep And Are Prepared To Take Some Minimal Risks On Their Account. Beyond These Aforementioned Is The Good Shepherd. He Loves The Sheep So Much That He Can Sacrifice Anything For Them, Including His Life. Jesus Revealed Himself As The Good Shepherd In John 10:11, Saying:
“I Am The Good Shepherd: The Good Shepherd Giveth His Life For The Sheep.”

Luke_2-11: For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.

Luke_2-11: For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.

The Reality Of Jesus As The Good Shepherd Assures Us Of God’s Tremendous Love, Care And Compassion. The Good Shepherd Is Ever Ready To Accommodate Any Level Of Risk For The Sheep. He Takes Time To Get Personally Acquainted With Each Of His Sheep. He Knows Their Strengths And Weaknesses, And On This Basis, He Is Able To Give Them Adequate Guidance. He Knows His Sheep And Calls Them By Name.

Philippians_3-14: I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

Philippians_3-14: I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

As A Servant Of God Or As A Leader In Your God-Given Area Of Endeavour, You Have Been Called To Be Like The Good Shepherd; But You Can Choose To Serve God As A Hireling, A Regular Shepherd Or Like The Good Shepherd Himself. How Are You Serving God Today? How Much Risk Are You Prepared To Take For The Sheep The Lord Has Placed Under Your Care? To What Extent Are You Ready To Serve The Lord Without Monetary Considerations, But Just For The Sake Of The Love Of Christ? Can Any Member Of Your Flock Call You A Good Shepherd Like Your Lord? As A Shepherd, At Whatever Level You Are Currently Operating, You Can Move Forward To The Next Level. If You Want The Good Shepherd To Be Everything To You, It Follows That You Must First Be A Good Shepherd To Those He Has Placed Under Your Care. If You Are Doing Your Work As A Good Shepherd, You Will Never Take Advantage Of The Flock Under You. While Some Pastors Are Thinking Of How To Improve The Lives Of Their Members And Help Them To Become Financially Free, Others Are Milking Their Members Dry. What Kind Of Shepherd Are You?

Galatians_5-1-1: Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage

John 10. Jesus the Good Shepherd

John 10. Jesus the Good Shepherd

1 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber. 2 But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. 3 To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out. 4 And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice. 5 And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers. 6 This parable spake Jesus unto them: but they understood not what things they were which he spake unto them. 7 Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep. 8 All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them. 9 I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. 10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. 11 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep. 12 But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep. 13 The hireling fleeth, because he is an hireling, and careth not for the sheep. 14 I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine. 15 As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep. 16 And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd. 17 Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again. 18 No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.

19 There was a division therefore again among the Jews for these sayings. 20 And many of them said, He hath a devil, and is mad; why hear ye him? 21 Others said, These are not the words of him that hath a devil. Can a devil open the eyes of the blind?

22 And it was at Jerusalem the feast of the dedication, and it was winter. 23 And Jesus walked in the temple in Solomon’s porch. 24 Then came the Jews round about him, and said unto him, How long dost thou make us to doubt? If thou be the Christ, tell us plainly. 25 Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believed not: the works that I do in my Father’s name, they bear witness of me. 26 But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you. 27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: 28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. 29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand. 30 I and my Father are one. 31 Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him. 32 Jesus answered them, Many good works have I showed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me? 33 The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God. 34 Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods? 35 If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken; 36 Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God? 37 If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not. 38 But if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works: that ye may know, and believe, that the Father is in me, and I in him.

39 Therefore they sought again to take him: but he escaped out of their hand, 40 And went away again beyond Jordan into the place where John at first baptized; and there he abode. 41 And many resorted unto him, and said, John did no miracle: but all things that John spake of this man were true. 42 And many believed on him there.

May GOD bless Nigeria, America and Israel and take care of us; May GOD make His face shine upon us, And be gracious to us; May the LORD lift up His countenance upon us, And give us peace, In Jesus Christ Name, we pray! Amen!

I Am The Good Shepherd And I Know My Sheep

Palm Sunday

I am The Good Shepherd; and I know My sheep. —John 10:14

READ: John 10:7-18

People hate change, or so I hear. But the change we generally resist is the kind that we think will make our situation worse rather than better. We eagerly change jobs when it means higher pay and more influence. We happily move to a bigger house in a better neighbourhood. So it’s not change in general that we hate; it’s change that involves loss—sometimes physical; other times emotional or psychological.

Change is both inevitable and necessary. If everything stays the same, no one is growing. But we have a Shepherd who guides us through change and leads us to a better place. Getting there may be difficult, as it was for the Israelites in reaching the Promised Land. They grumbled when their situation got worse rather than better (Ex. 15:24; Num. 14:2). But we have the example of Jesus. In less than a week, He went from being the leader of many to being abandoned by all. Between Palm Sunday and Good Friday, the Good Shepherd became the Passover Lamb. Because Christ willingly went through suffering, God elevated Him to the highest place (John 10:11; Phil. 2:8-9).

Not all change is pleasant, but when we’re being led to a better place by Someone who loves us, we don’t need to fear it. —Julie Ackerman Link

I know not, but God knows;
Oh, blessed rest from fear!
All my unfolding days
To Him are plain and clear. —Flint

Faith in Christ will keep us steady in the stormy sea of change.

I will sing to the Lord, for He has been good to me

I will sing to the Lord, for He has been good to me.

Psalm 13:2, NIV

The Switch that Turns on the Light

King David knew that the secret of victory over adversity was a conscious choice to praise God. Again and again, as he cries out to God in prayer, we hear his choice to praise: “How long must I wrestle with my thoughts and every day have sorrow in my heart? . . . Look on me and answer, O Lord my God. . . . But I will trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation. I will sing to the Lord, for he has been good to me” (Ps. 13:2-6, NIV). David, hounded by Saul and living as a fugitive for years in a nation where he was the national hero as well as the anointed king, exercised his will to praise God even when he just didn’t feel like it.

Praise is the switch that turns on the light of joy in our lives even when it’s “dark” outside. And the resulting “light” causes others to see the glory of God in our lives.

Because Jesus Lives

Resurrection of Christ

Because Jesus Lives

I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep.

John 10:11, NKJV

Real meaning to your life is found in the glorious dawn of God‘s story, which breaks into full revelation in the Person of Jesus Christ. What an astounding truth! What a life-changing message!

Because He emptied Himself of all but love, you can be filled.

Because His body was broken, your life can be whole.

Because His blood was shed, your sin can be forgiven.

Because He submitted to injustice, you can forgive.

Because He finished His Father’s work, your life has worth.

Because He was forsaken, you will never be alone.

Because He was buried, you can be raised.

Because He lives, you don’t have to be afraid.

Because He was raised, you can be strong.

Because He reached down to you, you don’t have to work your way up to Him.

Because His promises are always true, you can have Hope!

Praise God for just giving us Jesus!

Blessings

May the LORD bless Nigeria, American and Israel and take care of us; May the LORD make His face shine upon us, And be gracious to us; May the Lord lift up His countenance upon us, And give us peace, In Jesus Christ Name, we pray! Amen!

God Answers Every Prayer

God Answers Every Prayer

Matthew 7:7, “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:”

MATTHEW 7:6-8

Prayer which meets the requirements outlined in God’s Word is always answered. Many times we don’t perceive the answer because it always comes in the spiritual realm first before it is manifested in the physical realm. If we waver from our confident faith, then we abort the manifestation of that answer (Jas. 1:6-7; Heb. 10:35). But God did answer. Everyone who asks receives.

In the book of Daniel chapter 9, Daniel prayed a prayer and waited a relatively short period of time to see his answer to prayer. In less than three minutes the angel Gabriel appeared and answered all of his questions.

This same man prayed another prayer in Daniel chapter 10, but this time it took three weeks before he had an angelic messenger come and answer his questions. What was the difference? Most people believe that God answered one prayer in three minutes and the next prayer in three weeks. But Daniel 10:12, says “from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand,…thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words.” Satan had hindered the second prayer from reaching Daniel. God was not the variable. God answers every prayer.

This is confirmed in Matthew 7:8, which says that everyone who asks receives, he that seeks will find, to him that knocks it is opened. God answers, but Satan can hinder our prayers in the spiritual realm before they ever physically manifest. If we understand that God gives the answer and that Satan is the one hindering, the truths of these scriptures will encourage us. God does answer prayer.

God is always answering your prayer. If you haven’t seen it manifest, don’t doubt God, but recognize that you’re fighting an enemy, and persevere. Stand on your faith. Pray without ceasing until you see the answer.

May the LORD bless Nigeria, American and Israel and take care of us; May the LORD make His face shine upon us, And be gracious to us; May the Lord lift up His countenance upon us, And give us peace, In Jesus Christ Name, we pray! Amen!

God Knows Everything

God knows everything

“He delights in every detail of their lives.” (Psalm 37:23)

Do you ever feel that your parents do not listen to you, your boss does not respect you, or that your co-workers in the church, even the pastor, do not understand you? How devastating to realize that almost no one knows what you are like inside or the dreams you dream. Take heart. Remember that God knows how we are formed. As our Creator, He custom-designed us for a unique purpose.

David declared that the steps of a godly person are directed by the Lord (Psalm 37:23). That means that He will guide us as we live our lives for Him. God even “understands how weak we are; He knows we are only dust” (Psalm 103:14).

This assurance was evident in the experience of a pastor of a small church. He became so discouraged that he was ready to give up the ministry. A friend invited him to a prayer summit of pastors. When he got there, he confessed to his group, “I’ve been so defeated that I don’t even think God knows where I am.”

But God did know where he was. The next day, the other pastors stood in a circle around him and prayed for him, and he had such an overpowering sense of God’s presence that he went home walking on air. God knew exactly what this pastor needed to be renewed in his heart and mind. He will help each of us in similar ways because He designed us and knows exactly what we need at every moment.

Your View of God Really Matters …

Do you sometimes feel as though God does not know where you are, what you are facing, or even who you are? Read and meditate on God’s Word. God will meet you there and give you assurance, and peace.

What More Does God Say?

Psalm 23; Psalm 37:23; James 5:16-18

Because God knows everything, I will go to Him with all my question and concerns.

May the LORD bless Nigeria, American and Israel and take care of us; May the LORD make His face shine upon us, And be gracious to us; May the Lord lift up His countenance upon us, And give us peace, In Jesus Christ Name, we pray! Amen!

Bringing About God’s Will

Bringing About God‘s Will

Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favor with God. And behold, thou
shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call
his name Jesus. He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of
the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his
father David.

Luke 1:30-32

This is how the Word brought forth the ministry of Jesus, and this is
how God’s Word can bring forth God’s will in your life. This is God’s
plan for you too. He is still looking for men and women who are willing
to speak His Word into the earth, who are willing to let Him relate to
the world of man through their bodies and see His will be done on
earth as it is in heaven.

As a redeemed child of God, as a king and priest of the Most High and
as a new creature of God’s Kingdom, clothed in flesh, your body is your
badge of authority in the earth; Christ‘s blood is your badge of
authority in the heavens; God’s Word is your sword of authority in both
realms.

In His great love, God allows us to see in Christ what can be
accomplished when the Word walks among us. The Word laid hands on the
sick! The Word cast out devils. The Word caused the blind to see! The
Word washed away our sins! The Word rose from the dead!

Prayer for Today

Dear Heavenly Father,
I lift my hands in praise and thanksgiving for Your gift of Your Word,
made flesh in Your son Jesus Christ. Thank You for giving Him all authority in
heaven and earth and through His blood giving me authority over sin and
the devil. In Jesus Christ name! Amen!
