HYMN BOOK

1

Forth in Thy name, O Lord I go

My daily labour to pursue

Thee only Thee resolved to know

In all I think, or speak, or do

The task Thy wisdom hath

Assigned

O let me cheerfully fulfil

In all my works Thy presence find

And prove Thy acceptable will

Thee may I set my right hand

Whose eyes my inmost substance

See

And labour on Thy command

And offer all my works to Thee

Give me to bear Thy easy yoke

And every moment watch and pray

And still to things eternal look

And hasten to Thy glorious day

For Thee delightfully employ

Whate’er Thy bounteous grace hath giv’n

And run my course with even joy

And closely walk with Thee to heaven, Amen!

2

Holy Father, hear me

Thou art my defender

Be Thou ever near me

Loving, true, and tender

Jesus, blessed Master

Lord of life and glory

Bid the hour fly faster

Till I kneel before Thee

Comforter beginnest

Who abiding in me

All my need divinest

Move me, draw me, win me

Holy, Holy, Holy

Come and leave me never

Thine abode most lowly

Only Thine forever, Amen!

3

From all the dangers of the night

Jesus my Lord protects

‘Am privilege to see this light

I kneel to worship Thee

Jesus my Lord keep me today

Protect me in Thy hands

It is only those thou keepest

That are safe from danger

Let my speech and my behaviour

Depict that I am Thine

So much that Thy great light of truth

May shine thro’out the earth

O let me not depart from Thee

Thou, oh my Saviour Dear

Until I see with mine own eyes

They glorious face at last, Amen!

4

Come to the morning prayer,

Come, let us kneel and pray;

Prayer is the Christian pilgrim’s staff

To walk with God all day.

At noon beneath the Rock Of Ages rest and pray

Sweet is the shadow from the heat,

When the sun smites by day.

At eve shut to the door,

Round the home-altar pray,

And finding there the house of God,

At heav’n’s gate close the day.

When mid-night seals our eyes,

Let each in spirit say,

I sleep, but my heart waketh,

Lord,

With Thee to watch and pray, Amen!

5

Awake, my soul, and with the sun

Thy daily stage of duty run;

Shake off dull sloth, and joyful rise

To pay thy morning sacrifice.

Thy precious time mis-spent redeem;

Each present day thy last esteem;

Improve thy talent with due care;

For the great day thyself prepare.

Let all thy converse be sincere,

Thy conscience as the noontide clear,

Think how all seeing God thy ways

And all thy secret thoughts surveys.

By influence of the light Divine

Let Thy own light to others shine:

Reflect all Heav’ns propitious rays

In ardent love and cheerful praise.

Wake, and lift up thyself, my heart,

And with the angels bear thy part,

Who all night long unwearied sing

High praise to the eternal King.

I wake, I wake, ye heav’nly choir,

May your devotion me inspire,

That I, like you, my age may spend,

Like you may on my God attend, Amen!

6

Come to me, Lord, when first I wake,

As the faint lights of morning break;

Bid purest thoughts within me rise,

Like crystal dew-drops to the skies

Come to me in the sultry noon,

Or earth’s low communing will soon

Of Thy dear Face, eclipse the light,

And change my fairest day to night.

Come to me in the evening shade,

And if my heart from Thee hath-strayed

Oh bring it back, and from afar

Smile on me like Thine ev’ning star.

Come to me in the midnight hour,

When sleep withhold its balmy pow’r;

Let my lone spirit find her rest,

Like John, upon my Saviour’s breast.

Come to me through life’s varied way,

And when its pulses cease to play

Then Saviour, bid me come to Thee,

That where Thou art, Thy child may be, Amen!

7

Once more the sun is beaming bright,

Once more to God we pray,

That His eternal light my guide

And cheer our souls this day.

O may no sin our hands defile

Or cause our minds to rove,

Upon our lips be simple truth,

And in our hearts be loved!

Throughout the day, O Christ, in Thee,

May ready help be found,

To save our souls from Satan’s wiles,

Who still is hov’ring round.

Subservient to Thy daily praise,

Our daily toil shall be;

So may our works, in Thee begun,

Be further’d, Lord, by Thee.

And lest the flesh, profane and proud,

Subdue the yielding soul,

May self-constraining temperance,

Carnal desires control.

To God The Father, God The Son,

And God The Holy Ghost,

Eternal glory be from man,

And from the angel host, Amen!

8

The morning bright with rosy light

Has waked me from my sleep

Father, I own Thy love alone

Thy little one doth keep

All through the day I humbly pray

Be thou my guard and guide

My sins forgive, and let me live

Lord Jesus, near Thy side

Oh make Thy rest within my breast

Great Spirit of all grace

Make me like Thee, then shall I be

Prepared to see Thy face, Amen!

9

Awake my soul and rise with joy

Oh sing praises to thy Saviour

His grace and glory opens my song

How great is His love and kindness

He knows I am lost when I fall

Yet His love to me is complete

He has saved me from afflictions

How great is His love and kindness

Darts from my foes at me are hurled

World and Satan stand in my way

Graciously He had led me through

How great is His love and kindness

This weak heart of mine is always

Transgressing the laws of the Lord

The more I tend to forget Him

His endless love will never fail, Amen!

10

There is sunshine in the valley,

There is sunshine on the hill.

Jesus brought it to this

Darkened world below,

There is sunshine in the flowers,

Blooming by the rippling rill,

There is blessed sunshine everywhere I go.

Sunshine, sunshine of His love divine,

Sunshine, sunshine beams so brightly shine,

Sunshine, sunshine, in this world below,

Sunshine, sunshine everywhere I go.

There is sunshine on the meadow,

And upon the mossy lane,

Where the birds are warbling

Notes of joy and praise

There is sunshine on the mountain,

There is sunshine on the plain,

Let all nature now the happy chorus praise.

Tho’ the world is full of sunshine

Brightly beaming ev’ry day,

There are souls who live in darkness all the while,

They have never heard of Jesus

Nor His tender, loving care,

Let us help and cheer them with a sunny smile, Amen!

11

Mercy and judgement will I sing,

I sing, O Lord, to Thee;

O when wilt Thou descend and bring

Thy light and like to me?

A perfect way in wisdom trod,

A perfect heart at home,

A way, a heart, a house, O God,

I seek, where Thou wilt come.

I seek the faithful and the just;

May I their help enjoy!

Be these the friends in whom I trust

The servants I employ!

From lies, from slander, and deceit,

My dwelling shall be free;

May it be found a dwelling meet,

O righteous Lord, for Thee!

  2. I in addition to my guys have already been following the best procedures found on the blog then unexpectedly I had a terrible feeling I had not expressed respect to the blog owner for those techniques. All of the people appeared to be for that reason stimulated to read through all of them and now have honestly been taking advantage of these things. Thanks for actually being really accommodating and for finding certain superior areas millions of individuals are really desirous to discover. My sincere apologies for not expressing appreciation to you sooner.

  3. My developer is trying to convince me to move to .net from PHP. I have always disliked the idea because of the expenses. But he’s tryiong none the less. I’ve been using Movable-type on various websites for about a year and am anxious about switching to another platform. I have heard fantastic things about blogengine.net. Is there a way I can transfer all my wordpress content into it? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  5. Sing aloud unto God our strength: make a joyful noise unto the God of Jacob.

    2 Take a psalm, and bring hither the timbrel, the pleasant harp with the psaltery.

    3 Blow up the trumpet in the new moon, in the time appointed, on our solemn feast day.

    4 For this was a statute for Israel, and a law of the God of Jacob.

    5 This he ordained in Joseph for a testimony, when he went out through the land of Egypt: where I heard a language that I understood not.

    6 I removed his shoulder from the burden: his hands were delivered from the pots.

    7 Thou calledst in trouble, and I delivered thee; I answered thee in the secret place of thunder: I proved thee at the waters of Meribah. Selah.

    8 Hear, O my people, and I will testify unto thee: O Israel, if thou wilt hearken unto me;

    9 There shall no strange god be in thee; neither shalt thou worship any strange god.

    10 I am the Lord thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt: open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it.

    11 But my people would not hearken to my voice; and Israel would none of me.

    12 So I gave them up unto their own hearts’ lust: and they walked in their own counsels.

    13 Oh that my people had hearkened unto me, and Israel had walked in my ways!

    14 I should soon have subdued their enemies, and turned my hand against their adversaries.

    15 The haters of the Lord should have submitted themselves unto him: but their time should have endured for ever.

    16 He should have fed them also with the finest of the wheat: and with honey out of the rock should I have satisfied thee.
