Forgiving Your Enemies.

Matthew_5-44: But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you

Matthew_5-44: But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you

Jesus spent a great deal of time talking about the importance of forgiving others. He made it clear that forgiveness is to be a characteristic of his followers. So let’s explore what it means to forgive others, the benefits of forgiving and how to forgive.

What It Means To Forgive.

“Do not take revenge, my friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: ‘It is mine to avenge; I will repay,’ says the Lord. (Romans 12:19)

To forgive means to not seek revenge on the one who has hurt you. It means letting go of the anger we harbor inside us and allowing God to deal with him or her as he, in His perfect wisdom, sees fit.

It doesn’t mean excusing a wrong or denying that it ever happened. It means we don’t allow ourselves to be consumed with anger towards the one who has done something to us. Instead of cursing the people who has wrong us, we pray for them. Here are three verses that reflect the attitude of the forgiving heart:

“Love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you. (Matthew 5:44)

“Don’t repay evil for evil. Don’t retaliate when people say unkind things about you. Instead, pay them back with a blessing. That is what God wants you to do, and he will bless you for it.” (1 Peter 3:9)

“Never pay back evil for evil to anyone. Do things in such a way that everyone can see you are honourable Do your part to live in peace with everyone, as much as possible. Dear friends, never avenge yourselves. Leave that to God. For it is written, ‘I will take vengeance; I will repay those who deserve it,’ says the Lord. Instead, do what the Scriptures say: ‘If your enemies are hungry, feed them. If they are thirsty, give them something to drink, and they will be ashamed of what they have done to you’. Don’t let evil get the best of you, but conquer evil by doing good.” (Romans 12:17-21)

Why Forgive.

“And don’t sin by letting anger gain control over you. Don’t let the sun go down while you are still angry, for anger gives a mighty foothold to the Devil. Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of malicious behaviour” (Ephesians 4:26-27,31)

As the verses above tell us, anger gives Satan a foothold in our lives. Anger has a devastating effect on our relationship with God as well as with others. Over time we’ll take our anger out on those around us. It consumes us unless we deal with it.

Jesus passionately taught us to forgive others, to let go, to let him handle it. He wants us to be at peace and for that to happen anger must be replaced with forgiveness.

How To Forgive.

“Without Me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5)

“I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you.” (Matthew 5:44)

Tips To Help You Forgive.

Do not deny that you have been hurt. As we learned, forgiving is not denying.

Make a decision to forgive others (Luke 17:3-5)

Do not seek revenge or repay evil for evil. Let God handle it in His perfect way (1 Peter 3:9)

Ask Jesus to help you release the anger inside you (Ephesians 4:26-27,31)

Pray for a forgiving heart and read what the Bible says about the subject.

O Jesus Thou Lamb Of God
Thou Who Endured Agony
Thou Hast Done Thy Father’s Will
By Thy Forgiveness Of Sins
We Now Seek For Thy Mercy
And From The Guilts Of Our Sins
Take Us To Thy Place Of Joy
And At Last, To Live With Thee.

In The Trouble Of This World
Be Thou Our Helper O Lord
Save Us From All Temptations
And From All Our Enemies
Let Us Know Thy Death’s Value
That Thou Died Upon The Cross
Every Time Let Our Souls Be
Thy Sufferings To Remember.

Let Thy Love Abide In Us
And All Souls Which Have Now Strayed,
Teach Them To Know Thy Sweetness
Thy Life And Resurrection Which
Thy Death Hath Brought For Them
And At Last, That They May Be
Participants Of Thy Grace
And For Ever Reign With Thee.

A Debtor To Mercy Alone

Mark_8-36: For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?

Mark_8-36: For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?

A Debtor To Mercy Alone
Of Covenant Mercy I Sing
Not Fear, With God’s
Righteousness On
My Person And Offering To Bring
The Terrors Of Law And Of God
With Me Can Have Nothing To Do
My Saviour’s Obedience And Blood
Hide All My Transgressions From View.

The Work Which His Goodness Began
The Arm Of His Strength Will Complete
His Promise Is Yea And Amen
And Never Was Forfeited Yet
Things Future, Nor Things That Are Now
Nor All Things Below Or Above
Can Make Him His Purpose For Go
Or Sever My Soul From His Love.

My Name From The Palm Of His Hand
Eternity Will Not Erase
Impressed On His Heart It Remains
In Marks To Indelible Grace
Yes, I To The End Shall Endure
As Sure As The Earnest Is Given
More Happy, But Not More Secure
The Glorified Spirits In Heaven.
Amen!

Forgiveness.

Luke_6-37: Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven

Luke_6-37: Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven

Text:

Matthew 6:14-15
14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:
15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

Mark 11:25 NIV

And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.”

Matthew 18:21-35 New International Version (NIV)

The Parable of the Unmerciful Servant

21 Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me? Up to seven times?”

22 Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.[a]

23 “Therefore, the kingdom of heaven is like a king who wanted to settle accounts with his servants.

24 As he began the settlement, a man who owed him ten thousand bags of gold[b] was brought to him.

25 Since he was not able to pay, the master ordered that he and his wife and his children and all that he had be sold to repay the debt.

26 “At this the servant fell on his knees before him. ‘Be patient with me,’ he begged, ‘and I will pay back everything.’

27 The servant’s master took pity on him, canceled the debt and let him go.

28 “But when that servant went out, he found one of his fellow servants who owed him a hundred silver coins.[c] He grabbed him and began to choke him. ‘Pay back what you owe me!’ he demanded.

29 “His fellow servant fell to his knees and begged him, ‘Be patient with me, and I will pay it back.’

30 “But he refused. Instead, he went off and had the man thrown into prison until he could pay the debt.

31 When the other servants saw what had happened, they were outraged and went and told their master everything that had happened.

32 “Then the master called the servant in. ‘You wicked servant,’ he said, ‘I canceled all that debt of yours because you begged me to. 33 Shouldn’t you have had mercy on your fellow servant just as I had on you?’

34 In anger his master handed him over to the jailers to be tortured, until he should pay back all he owed.

35 “This is how my heavenly Father will treat each of you unless you forgive your brother or sister from your heart.”

Introduction:

God forgave man as a result of the death and the resurrection of Jesus Christ and He expects us to follow this good example.

Why do we need to forgive?

1. Without forgiveness there will be no answer to prayers.
Mark 11:26
But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.

2. So that the peace of God will abide with us
John 14:27
Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

3. So that it shall be well with us
Isaiah 3:10
Say ye to the righteous, that it shall be well with him: for they shall eat the fruit of their doings.

4. To have everlasting life
John 3:16
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

5. To have joy in our lives
John 15: 9-11
“As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love. These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.

6. To communicate freely with God
Galatians 4:6 (New International Version)
Because you are his sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, “Abba, Father.”

1-John_1-9: If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness

1-John_1-9: If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness

Conclusion:

It is God’s will for us to forgive one another so as to receive forgiveness from Him. If you have made a vow not to forgive anybody who might have offended you, Please forgive such a person now because tomorrow may be too late.

Thank You Jesus!

Search Me, O God! My Actions Try

Psalms_139-23: Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:

Psalms_139-23: Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:

Search Me, O God! My Actions Try
And Let My Life Appear,
As Seen By Thine All-Searching Eye –
To Mine My Ways Make Clear.

Search All My Sense, And Know My Heart,
Who Only Canst Make Known,
And Let The Deep, The Hidden Part
To Me Be Fully Shown.

Throw Light Into The Darkened Cells,
Where Passion Reigns Within;
Quicken My Conscience Till It Feels
The Loathsomeness Of Sin.

Search All My Thoughts, The Secret Springs,
The Motives That Control;
The Chambers Where Polluted Things
Hold Empire Over The Soul.

Search, Till Thy Fiery Glance Has Cast
Its Holy Light Through All,
And I By Grace Am Brought At Last
Before Thy Face To Fall.

Thus Prostrate I Shall Learn Of
Thee,
What Now I Feebly Prove,
That God Alone In Christ Can Be
Unutterable Love.
Amen!

I Must Needs Go Home By The Way Of The Cross

John_14-6: Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me

John_14-6: Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me

I Must Needs Go Home By The Way Of The Cross
There’s No Other Way But This;
I Shall Never Get Sight Of The Gates Of Light,
If The Way Of The Cross I Miss.

The Way Of The Cross Leads Home,
The Way Of The Cross Leads Home,
It Is Sweet To Know, As I Onward
Go,
The Way Of The Cross Leads Home.

I Must Needs Go On In The Blood Sprinkled Way,
The Path That The Saviour Trod,
If I Ever Climb To The Heights Sublime,
Where The Soul Is At Home With God.

Then I Bid Farewell To The Way Of The World,
To Walk In It Never More;
For My Lord Says “Come,” And I Seek My Home,
Where He Waits At The Open Door.
Amen!

Revival Through Retreat. Sermon And Prayer Points By Pastor E A Adeboye

Psalms_51-10: Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me

Psalms_51-10: Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me

Memorise

Wilt thou not revive us again: that thy people may rejoice in thee? –
Psalms 85:6

Read

1 Kings 19:4-8 (KJV)
4 But he himself went a day’s journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a juniper tree: and he requested for himself that he might die; and said, It is enough; now, O LORD, take away my life; for I am not better than my fathers.
5 And as he lay and slept under a juniper tree, behold, then an angel touched him, and said unto him, Arise and eat.
6 And he looked, and, behold, there was a cake baken on the coals, and a cruse of water at his head. And he did eat and drink, and laid him down again.
7 And the angel of the LORD came again the second time, and touched him, and said, Arise and eat; because the journey is too great for thee.
8 And he arose, and did eat and drink, and went in the strength of that meat forty days and forty nights unto Horeb the mount of God.

MESSAGE

All human beings have an intense desire to connect to God. One vital element that is required to connect to God is a nice quite atmosphere, devoid of daily concerns, where one can ruminate over spiritual truths. Meanwhile, it is often difficult to create such within the unrelenting activities of one’s daily life. This is why a retreat comes in handy. A spiritual retreat could be defined as a sustained period of quite, uninterrupted time for a person to be reflective and receptive in God’s Presence. It offers a time to leave daily concerns, to connect with one’s spiritual self, and to be attentive to the needs of one’s soul and spirit. People seeking for a time of retreat often locate a retreat centre or a specific geographical place that offers an atmosphere conducive for quiet reflection. The search for spiritual retreats has taken many to prayer Mountains and remote solitary places.
Mount Carmel is best known as the site Elijah battled against the prophets of Baal. However, the fact that Elijah and Elisha frequently return to Mount Carmel is an indication that they were using the mountain for spiritual retreat. The overall purpose of a spiritual retreat is to be transformed in whatever manner God chooses. Withdrawing to a place of spiritual retreat is to be transformed in whatever manner God chooses. Withdrawing to a place of spiritual retreat offers a time for refreshment and nourishment of life, a time to experience a continual sense of God’s presence that could become a constant reality in everyday life. Act 3:19 says
“Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;”
Therefore, a time of spiritual retreat is a time for sober reflection, repentance, rededication, revival and rejuvenation. The book of 1 Kings 18:20-46 showed us the structure and pattern of spiritual retreat. First, Elijah rebuilt the ruined altar to YAHWEH, symbolising repentance and rededication of Israel to God. Then, he dug a trench around the altar and poured 12 jars of water on the sacrifice, the wood, and the altar, filling the trench, symbolising the activities of the spirit. Finally, he called on YAHWEH, who answered immediately by fire that consumed the whole sacrifice, including the water, the wood, the stones of the altar. This was immediately followed by heavy rains after three and half years of drought. There was great celebration as the people rejoiced in the Lord for a time of refreshing. A spiritual retreat always leads to celebration.
A spiritual retreat is also used to pursue personal holiness and to stay connected to God. Several passages in the Gospels according to Saint Mark and Matthew, give the account of Jesus retreating to pray. This point out the importance of spiritual retreat to Christians. Every child of God, as a matter of necessity, must constantly create time for spiritual retreat, seeking the face of the Lord for cleansing, renewal, rededication, and spiritual empowerment.

Wartime Mentality!

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

Wartime Mentality!

Time spent fellowshipping with others should equip and empower you to do battle in daily life. Yet so many just go home from church, keep to themselves, and never obey the marching orders of our Commander in Chief who said to every Christian, “Go… and make disciples of all nations.”

The Christian life is not to be lived in a sanctuary, separated from risk and danger. No, every believer must answer the call to step into the unknown and unsafe areas of life, obeying the Commander-in-Chief’s call to preach the Good News of Christ to the ends of the earth!

Wash Me, O Lamb Of God

Psalms_51-2: Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.

Psalms_51-2: Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.

Wash Me, O Lamb Of God
Wash Me From Sin!
By Thine Atoning Blood,
Oh, Make Me Clean!
Purge Me From Every Stain,
Let Me Thy Image Gain,
In Love And Mercy Reign
Over All Within.

Wash Me, O Lamb Of God,
Wash Me From Sin!
I Long To Be Like Thee –
All Pure Within.
Now Let The Crimson Tide,
Shed From Thy Wounded Side,
Be To My Heart Applied,
And Make Me Clean.

Wash Me, O Lamb Of God,
Wash Me From Sin!
I Will Not, Cannot, Rest
Till Pure Within.
All Human Skill Is Vain,
But Thou Canst Cleanse Each
Stain
Till Not A Spot Remain –
Made Wholly Clean.

Wash Me, O Lamb Of God,
Wash Me From Sin!
By Faith Thy Cleansing Blood
Now Makes Me Clean.
So Near Art Thou To Me,
So Sweet My Rest In Thee –
Oh, Blessed Purity,
Saved, Saved From Sin!

Wash Me, O Lamb Of God, Wash Me From Sin!
Thou, While I Trust In Thee,
Wilt Keep Me Clean.
Each Day To Thee I Bring
Heart, Life-Yea, Everything;
Saved, While To Thee I Cling,
Saved From All Sin.
Amen!

I Have Been To The Fountain Of Cleansing

Psalms_51-10: Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me

Psalms_51-10: Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me

I Have Been To The Fountain Of Cleansing
And Plunged Neath The Life Giving Flow
‘Tis The Blood Shed Of Calvary’s Mountain
That Makes The Soul Whiter Than Snow

O Yes It Makes Whiter Than Snow
The Blood Cleanses Me, This I Know
Since It Cleansed Me From Sin
I Have Jesus Within,
His Blood Cleanses Whiter Than Snow

I Have Been To The Fountain Of Cleansing
Found Peace In The Crucified One
All My Sins By His Grace Have Been Cancelled
And Heaven In My Soul Is Begun.

I Have Been To The Fountain Of Cleansing
And Glory Is Flooding My Soul
Hallelujah! My Heart Is Rejoicing
His Blood Makes Me Every White Whole.
Amen!

Today, No Matter Where I Am, I Stand Boldly Before The Throne Of Grace Knowing That I Am Forgiven

Today, No Matter Where I Am, I Stand Boldly Before The Throne Of Grace Knowing That I Am Forgiven

“To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus. Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump?”

1 Corinthians 5:5-6 (KJV)

Sin is so deadly that the devil effectively uses it to keep the believer in bondage. Sin humiliates, embarrasses, and destroys. It destroys the relationship between God and man. Sin robs a person of his confidence towards God and against Satan. Sin is like a blood red stain on a white cloth that screams at you. But thank God for the finished work of Calvary. Thank God for the blood that washes away every sin and allows us to stand boldly without blemish before God.

Child of God, the only hold the devil has on you is the hold of sin. That is why he will constantly remind you of your past. He knows that there is nothing else he can hold you down with. He knows that if he cannot mess with your mind he cannot get you. So he will constantly wield the power of condemnation. That is why Jesus came to disarm him. He came to be your righteousness. He took your place on the cross. He became sin so that you can be the righteousness of God in Christ. He took the full punishment. He was wounded for your transgression and bruised for your iniquities. All of your sins, past, present, and future, have been nailed to the cross. You stand before God discharged and acquitted; there is no chance for the devil to appeal. This is a deadly blow to the devil. He does not want you to realise this fact, so he constantly tries to hoodwink you. But today that hold is broken in Jesus’ name.

The truth is that as long as you see yourself as a sinner rather than the righteousness of God you will never fulfil God’s purpose. Jesus knew that we were helpless as long as Satan had his armour, so He paid the full price. Jesus took from the devil all he had used to hold man down with and He gave man liberty. Today, no matter where I am, I stand boldly before the throne of grace knowing that I am forgiven. And this completely disarms the devil and gives me victory.

Hallelujah! Satan has been disarmed (Colossians 2:13-15, TLB). Go about your business as if sin never existed.

I Will Be Celebrated. There Is No Sin Strong Enough To Stop Me

I Will Be Celebrated. There Is No Sin Strong Enough To Stop Me

Psalms_118-24: This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it

Psalms_118-24: This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it

” ‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.'”

Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)

I have an assurance and witness from Heaven that you will not be disappointed. No matter the challenge you are passing through right now; in your business; in your marriage; in your job or academics; I know you will not be disappointed. I don’t care how tough it is for you right now, your celebration is on the way. Yes the year is practically drawing to a close; I prophesy over your life that you will celebrate.

That is why I am challenging you today to make plans for your celebration because your testimony is coming soonest; even sooner than you expect. What God has already done, you will not be able to exhaust for eternity. He is able to do exceedingly, abundantly, above all that you ask or think.

Do you know that your future is bright? Yes, you have a colourful destiny. God is not through with you yet. I serve a notice to the devil and his cohorts. What you have seen so far is nothing compared to what is coming your way. Something heavy is coming to you. You are more than a conqueror. That sickness will not kill you. No challenge will stop you. There is no sin strong enough to stop you. No bondage is strong enough to hold you. Once it passes through the blood, it cannot survive anymore.

Make plans for your celebration. The enemy may have said that you cannot have a child but I see you dedicating children. He may have said that you will not survive that sickness. Let me announce to him that that sickness will not see your end; you will see the end of that sickness. You cannot end the way you are now. God will come through for you.

I like Job. Even when things were so tough for him, he still said in Job 14:14 that he will wait all the days of his life until his change comes. In other words, he knew his change will come. He was not bothered about what the enemy was doing. Job had it settled in his heart that his change would come.

Do you know that your change will come? If you do, then get ready; make plans for your celebration because your testimony is here. I bless you today.

Even In The Midst Of The Mess I Am Right Now, There Is Much More Grace Available To Help Me Bounce Back. Thank You Jesus

“Moreover where the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound”.
Romans 5:20 (KJV)

I am tired of believers living their lives as if sin is more powerful than what Jesus did for us on the cross. You constantly see believers cringing and crying for hours, pleading for mercy. I feel really weary when I see Bible-believing children of God cringing because of sin rather than standing tall. Understand that I am not validating sin. The Bible asks whether sin shall abound that grace may much more abound, and it also rightly answers that God forbids it. God does not expect you to deliberately live in sin because of grace. In fact, if you clearly understand the word “grace”, sin will be far from you. You will love God too much to do things that do not glorify Him.

Beloved, you may have missed the point yesterday or today but that does not make you a sinner. Remember that the fact that you passed through a garage does not make you a car. Falling into one sin or the other does not make you a sinner. You can never get rid of the sin in your life through self-effort or your own resolutions. You can make as many New Year’s resolutions as you want, but one thing is sure: it is the operation of the Holy Ghost that delivers us from sin. That is why Paul the Apostle in 2 Corinthians 3:18 said, “But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord” (KJV). When you see yourself the way you really are, then the Holy Ghost works in you to change you into what you are seeing.

Hear this: today’s text assures us that even in the midst of that mess you are in there is much more grace available to help you bounce back. Thank God that the price has already been paid.

All Of My Sins, Past, Present, And Future, Have Been Nailed To The Cross Of Calvary. Satan! You Got Nothing On Me

I Did Not Deserve God’s Forgiveness, But He Forgave Me Through Christ Jesus

I Did Not Deserve God’s Forgiveness, But He Forgave Me Through Christ Jesus

Matthew 18:21
Then Peter came to Him and said, “Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Up to seven times?”

Peter asked the Lord how often he should forgive his brother. The Lord’s answer to him was simple: Up to 70 times seven times. (Matthew 18:22) In other words, all the time!

“Well, he does not deserve my forgiveness.”

Neither did you deserve God’s forgiveness.

There is not a single person alive or dead who did not break all 10 of God’s commandments. There is no such thing as a “partial sinner” or “great sinner”. All of us were great sinners when Jesus saved us. And when we realize that we are forgiven much, we will love much. (Luke 7:47)

“How can you say that I have broken all of God’s commandments? I have never committed adultery.”

My friend, Jesus said, “If you lust after a woman in your heart, you have already committed adultery with her.” (Matthew 5:28) That is God’s standard. Man looks outward, but God looks inward at the heart. Moreover, if you break one law, you are guilty of all. (James 2:10) So everyone has broken all of God’s commandments. Everyone is a great sinner.

Now, you are no longer a sinner if you have received Christ as your Savior. You are a new creation. But you were a great sinner and God forgave you your huge debt through the death of His Son.

So if someone has wronged you, tell yourself this: “I did not deserve God’s forgiveness, but He forgave me through Christ. So I forgive this person also.” If you say something like, “He does not deserve it,” it makes no sense. Forgiveness is not for people who deserve it. If they deserve anything, it is punishment. But forgiveness means that you extend grace—undeserved favor—like how God extends undeserved favor to you.

Beloved, if you choose to hold on to bitterness, no one suffers but you. You lose your peace, then possibly your health. It is just not worth it. God says to you, “Let go. Forgive them their debts, just as I have forgiven you yours.”

My Sins And Lawless Deeds God Will Remember No More. Hallelujah.

My Sins And Lawless Deeds God Will Remember No More! Hallelujah!

Hebrews 10:17
Then He adds, “Their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.”

“Blessed is the man to whom the Lord shall not impute sin.” (Romans 4:8) Hallelujah!

My friend, the reason that God does not impute any of our sins to us is that He has already imputed all of them to the body of His Son Jesus when He hung on the cross 2,000 years ago. Not only that, when God punished His Son for our sins, He caused the curse of the law to fall stroke by stroke upon Jesus’ entire body until every curse had been fully satisfied. That is why we have been redeemed from the curse of the law. (Galatians 3:13) That is why, instead of imputing sin to us, God imputes righteousness!

God wants us to know that our sins and lawless deeds He will remember no more. The words “no more” in the original Greek text carry a strong double-negative meaning. In other words, God is saying, “No way, by no means, will I ever remember your sins again!”

Beloved, since God says that He will remember your sins no more, why do you still remember them? Or for that matter, your spouse’s or neighbor’s sins? God does not want you to be conscious of sins because He is not. So rejoice! Come to Him boldly and expect Him to show you mercy and grace because He remembers your sins no more!

I Love You Dear! In The Hands Of God, My Words Will Be Used Like Nails To Secure My Spouse’s Self-Esteem

I Love You Dear! In The Hands Of God, My Words Will Be Used Like Nails To Secure My Spouse’s Self-Esteem

The words of wise men are like goads, and masters of these collections are like well-driven nails.
Ecclesiastes 12:11

When your marriage relationship hits a trouble spot, it may be difficult to find much to praise about each other. Yet those are the times we need praise the most. So I urge you to initiate praising your spouse. Make it a deliberate effort. Bring the power of positive words to him or her in the midst of trouble.

In the verse above, Solomon gave some very descriptive characteristics of well-spoken words. When you choose to encourage and praise your spouse, your words carry the ability to prod, or goad, him or her in the right direction. And notice the result: Those words become like “well-driven nails,” the kind that secure all types of building projects.

In the hands of God, your words can be used like nails to secure your mate’s self-esteem. Your wise and truthful words bring perspective to his or her life, to your relationship and to your situation as a couple. They make finding solutions to your problems a real possibility.

You may be asking, “What if all this praise goes to my spouse’s head? Won’t he become prideful?” There’s a difference between truthful praise and flattery.

Flattery gratifies a person’s vanity, but praise is based on a person’s character and deeds. When you truthfully praise and applaud your spouse’s choices, you reinforce the value of building godly character.

Paul exhorts us, “Speak truth each one of you with his neighbor” (Ephesians 4:25). A keyword in that phrase is “truth,” which is the only real standard for bringing value to another person. Truth results in assurance and security, in worth and value. It becomes the compass during the storm that confidently steers us in the right direction.

So praise your spouse in all situations, using wisdom to meet the need of the moment, speaking truthfully to help construct character. Your words of affirmation can help rebuild what life has torn apart.

Prayer for forgiveness

Dear Heavenly Father,

I thank You for the cross of Jesus Christ. I thank You that today, because of Jesus’ blood, I have been forgiven of all my sins, past, present and future. Today, You are merciful to my unrighteousness, and all my sins and lawless deeds, You will remember no more. You see me as completely righteous, not because of what I have done, but because of Your Son Jesus Christ. I am greatly blessed, highly favoured and deeply loved by You. Amen!

May GOD bless Nigeria, America and Israel and take care of us; May GOD make His face shine upon us, And be gracious to us; May the LORD lift up His countenance upon us, And give us peace, In Jesus Christ Name, we pray! Amen!

May the grace the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen!

Forgive us our sins, just as we have forgiven those who have sinned against us

Forgive us our sins, just as we have forgiven those who have sinned against us.

Let the mercy of Jesus be your model

Jesus Christ is our Example

(Matthew 6:12)

In 1944, during the horrible days of World War II, in the Ravensbruck concentration camp, Corrie Ten Boom and many other emaciated women worked long hours every day under the watchful eye of the prison guards. That year, Corrie’s sister, Betsie, died, a victim of the tortuous conditions.

In 1947, after the war, Corrie spoke to a group of Germans in a sparsely furnished Munich church basement. During her talk, she said, “Those who have been able to forgive their former enemies have been able to rebuild their lives…We, as Christians, have every reason to forgive each other, for our God richly lavishes His mercy on us.”

When she finished, she was approached by a balding, heavyset man in a gray overcoat. Horror filled her as she realized he had been one of the prison guards.

He thrust out his hand. “How good it is to know that, as you say, all our sins are at the bottom of the sea!” Dumbfounded, Corrie did not take his hand.

He went on, “I have become a Christian. I know that God has forgiven me… but I would like to hear it from your lips as well. Fraulein, will you forgive me?

Corrie remembered how he had pushed Betsie with the butt of his gun. Slowly, her hand moved toward his. Their hands touched and she finally vigorously shook his hand. With tears in her eyes, she said, “I forgive you, brother…with all my heart.

God loves us no matter what we have done. He forgives us when we ask. Since God richly lavishes His mercy on us, we must show mercy. And that means letting go of hurts caused by others.

Your View of God Really Matters …

If you have been offended, how does it compare with the experience of Corrie ten Boom, and Jesus, both of whom forgave their attackers. You can too. Let the mercy of Jesus be your model.

What More Does God Say?

Acts 7:59-60

Because God is merciful, He forgives me of my sins when I sincerely confess them.

May the LORD bless Nigeria, American and Israel and take care of us; May the LORD make His face shine upon us, And be gracious to us; May the Lord lift up His countenance upon us, And give us peace, In Jesus Christ Name, we pray! Amen!

Psalm 32:1

The Secret of Forgiveness

Is it still hard to consider the thought of forgiving the one who hurt you?

We’ll never be able to wash the feet of those who’ve hurt us until we allow Jesus, the one we’ve hurt, to wash ours. That’s the secret of forgiveness. You’ll never forgive anyone more than God has already forgiven you.

Watch Jesus as he goes from disciple to disciple. Can you hear the water splash? Keep that image. John 13:12 says, “When he had finished washing their feet…” Note, he finished washing their feet. He left no one out. That’s important! It means he also washed the feet of Judas. Jesus washed the feet of his betrayer.

That’s not to say it was easy for Jesus. That’s not to say it’s easy for you. That IS to say—God will never call you to do what he hasn’t already done!

May the LORD bless Nigeria, American and Israel and take care of us; May the LORD make His face shine upon us, And be gracious to us; May the Lord lift up His countenance upon us, And give us peace, In Jesus Christ Name, we pray! Amen!

Forgiveness: An Act Of Obedience

Forgiveness lesson from flowers

Forgiveness: An Act Of Obedience

Forgiveness begins by recognizing evil in all of its horror. We can forgive without denying the reality of the evil and hurt we suffered at another’s hand. We can also forgive those who hurt us without condoning or excusing the offender’s hurtful act. Forgiveness doesn’t brush aside the hurt, nor dismiss it. We must choose to forgive anyone who wrongs us. Our forgiveness is not predicated on our understanding why the offender hurt us. We may never understand the cruel actions of people like Hitler, the Ku Klux Klan, or the Boko Haram, but we can still choose to forgive them.

Feelings have nothing to do with the willful choice we make to forgive others. Surely the Apostle Paul didn’t “feel” like forgiving when his offenders stoned him, tried to kill him and threw him into prison. Even in his pain, he could write: “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you” (Ephesians 4:32, NIV). And we can forgive our offenders no matter how horrible the crime against us.

Prayer:

Lord, we know that we have received Your forgiveness through Christ’s death, even when we could never deserve it. Help us to remember Jesus’ example so that we can be set free by forgiving others. We pray in Jesus Christ Name! Amen!

May the LORD bless Nigeria, American and Israel and take care of us; May the LORD make His face shine upon us, And be gracious to us; May the Lord lift up His countenance upon us, And give us peace, In Jesus Christ Name, we pray! Amen!

Why We Must Forgive

Why We Must Forgive

Forgive whatever grievance you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.

Colossians 3:13 (NIV)

My friend’s unkind comments cut me to the bone. After many years of close friendship, she lost her temper, accused me of things I didn’t do and blasted me with an onslaught of hurtful words.

She crossed every boundary of decency, respect and friendship, and the more I replayed her careless and caustic words in my mind, the more furious I became. I felt miserable and decided to have nothing more to do with her. “She doesn’t deserve my forgiveness,” I told myself repeatedly.

I shared my painful experience with another close friend. She listened to me and then surprised me with her advice.

“You need to forgive her. You don’t want to live your life with the weeds of unforgiveness and bitterness growing in your heart.”

“Forgive her?” I cried. “She intentionally hurt me! Why should I let her off the hook and forgive her? She needs to suffer just like she has caused me to suffer!”

“You must choose to forgive her, even though she purposely hurt you. If you decide not to forgive her, you’re the one imprisoned in the past, not her. You’ll suffer, not her.”

She then reminded me of the Apostle Paul’s wise words to the Colossians: “Bear with each other,” he wrote, “and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you” (Colossians 3:13, NIV).

“‘Whatever grievances’ covers just about everything,” my friend told me, “even the hurtful words and actions of a dear friend.”

It took me some time to think, pray and study God’s Word about forgiving those who purposely hurt others. But I finally chose to forgive my friend. It wasn’t easy, but I knew it was necessary. During that period, I made some fascinating and surprising discoveries about biblical forgiveness.

What Must I Do?

Forgiveness is essential, even in the absence of an apology. Jesus provided the supreme example when He forgave those heartless people who nailed Him to a cross, sneered at Him and watched Him die. They never apologized to Jesus. Yet forgiveness was genuine and complete on Jesus’ part when He prayed the words: “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing” (Luke 23:34, NIV).

My friend had injured me with her words and accusations. She owed me a debt because of her disrespectful behaviour. But when I chose to forgive her, I cancelled that debt. I decided to no longer hold her responsible for the pain she had caused me. Fortunately my friend apologized and accepted my forgiveness, but if she hadn’t apologized, the act of forgiving on my part would still have been genuine.

I didn’t need her apology in order to forgive her. I could forgive her without ever hearing the words “I’m sorry.” Her willing apology graced my heart, but it wasn’t necessary to my forgiving her.

Four Little Sunday School Girls

Carolyn Maull McKinstry chose to forgive the members of the Ku Klux Klan who planted a bomb in her church on Sunday morning, Sept. 15, 1963. Carolyn, then 15 years old, had just spoken to her four friends in the basement restroom of the Sixteenth Street Baptist Church in Birmingham, Ala. As Carolyn walked upstairs into the sanctuary, the bomb exploded. The blast killed her four friends.

In her book, “While the World Watched,” Carolyn writes: “I know that because of the way Christ has forgiven me, I have no option but to forgive others who have intentionally hurt me and those I love.”

Carolyn knew that unforgiveness poisons the heart. The resulting bitterness can pollute the soul. Unforgiveness breaks God’s heart and interferes with intimate communion with the Heavenly Father. Believers in Christ do not hold grudges. Carolyn’s forgiveness has since enabled her to sow seeds of reconciliation and love around the world.

Holocaust Survivor

Nonna Lisowskaja Bannister, a young Russian Christian, suffered the loss of friends and family when German armies invaded her home in Ukraine during World War II. Nonna and her mother ended up in a German concentration camp and suffered unspeakable tortures. After years of imprisonment, her mother and her entire family murdered, Nonna was able to leave war-torn Germany and settle in the United States with the help of Southern Baptist missionaries.

Nonna chose to forgive those who purposely tortured her, killed her family members and caused her such great suffering. In her secret diaries, she wrote her eyewitness account of the Holocaust, her love for God and her family—and her forgiveness of Hitler. Nonna kept her diaries hidden for a half century until they were published in 2009 by her husband, Henry, with Nonna’s blessings. In her book, “The Secret Holocaust Diaries,” Nonna notes that forgiveness requires “much generosity and wisdom.” Her forgiveness enabled her to live a life of compassion, love and Christ-like generosity toward others.

Acts of Obedience

Forgiveness begins by recognizing evil in all of its horror. We can forgive without denying the reality of the evil and hurt we suffered at another’s hand.
We can also forgive those who hurt us without condoning or excusing the offender’s hurtful act. Forgiveness doesn’t brush aside the hurt, nor dismiss it. We must choose to forgive anyone who wrongs us.

Our forgiveness is not predicated on our understanding why the offender hurt us. We may never understand the cruel actions of people like Hitler or the Ku Klux Klan, but we can still choose to forgive them.

Some crimes are so heartless and inhumane, we may even wonder if God Himself expects us to forgive.

On Oct. 26, 2001, a nurse’s aide, Chante Mallard, drove home from work and hit a homeless man, Gregory Biggs. The impact broke his leg and thrust him head first into her windshield. Mallard didn’t stop to help him, but instead, with Biggs lodged in her windshield, she drove eight miles and parked her car in her garage. She ignored Biggs’s pleas for help, and he finally bled to death.

Police arrested Mallard. The judge sentenced her to 50 years in prison. At her trial, Biggs’s college-aged son, Brandon, a Christian, addressed the courtroom. He told the Mallard family that his family was sorry for their loss as well. He offered his family’s forgiveness to Chante.

After the trial, a TV interviewer asked Brandon how he could possibly forgive Mallard for killing his father in such a brutal way.

Brandon told him: “It comes because I’ve been forgiven for so much … I can’t not be forgiving. Life is too short to live with all the anger and bitterness. … Life’s too short for that.”

Why must we forgive those people who hurt us or those we love? Because God, in Christ, has forgiven us (Ephesians 4:32), and because Christ commands us to forgive others (Luke 17:4). So, for me to grow in Christ, I, too, must obey His Word and continue to forgive. God requires nothing less.

May the LORD bless Nigeria, American and Israel and take care of us; May the LORD make His face shine upon us, And be gracious to us; May the Lord lift up His countenance upon us, And give us peace, In Jesus Christ Name, we pray! Amen!

You have been reconciled to God through Christ Jesus

Corinthians 5:19 says: “To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto Himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.” Jesus wants us to be reconciled unto God. He wants us to be reinstated. He wants us to walk in fellowship with God. He wants us to walk in a sonship relationship with God the Father. When we think on this fact, we sometimes forget that God really did do in Christ what He sent Him to do on the cross. “It is finished.” Now you and I need to simply accept the fact that we have been reconciled unto God. We have been brought back to Him and united with Him. We have become one with Him, and we have been reinstated as sons and daughters through Christ Jesus. Now all we have to do is have the courage, boldness, and faith to live what God has already done for us.

It is finished!

May the LORD bless Nigeria, American and Israel and take care of us; May the LORD make His face shine upon us, And be gracious to us; May the Lord lift up His countenance upon us, And give us peace, In Jesus Christ Name, we pray! Amen!

Take Out the Plank

There is not a righteous man on earth who does what is right and never sins.
Ecclesiastes 7:20

When was the last time you knelt and asked God to forgive your sins? Yesterday? Last week? Last month?

Are you in need of forgiveness today?

We live with sin every day. We see it on TV, in movies, in our neighbours, friends, co-workers and family. Sin is usually easy to spot in others, but with all of the exposure we have to sin, we frequently become blinded to our own sin.

You may have told a little white lie to your boss about being sick when you took the day off or accepted more change than you were due when the cashier handed you too much by mistake. Maybe these things didn’t even feel like sin at the time.

Luke 6:42 asks how you can offer to remove a speck from your brother’s eye “When you yourself do not see the plank in your own eye?” We all need to remove any planks in our eyes in order to see clearly.

Right now, ask the Holy Spirit to show you anything you’ve done wrong. Confess these things to God and ask for the forgiveness that can only come from Him through the blood of His Son, Jesus Christ.

Caricature God

READ: Exodus 34:1-9

The Lord is longsuffering and abundant in mercy, forgiving iniquity and transgression; but He by no means clears the guilty. —Numbers 14:18

Caricature artists set up their easels in public places and draw pictures of people who are willing to pay a modest price for a humorous image of themselves. Their drawings amuse us because they exaggerate one or more of our physical features in a way that is recognizable but funny.

Caricatures of God, on the other hand, are not funny. Exaggerating one of His attributes presents a distorted view that people easily dismiss. Like a caricature, a distorted view of God is not taken seriously. Those who see God portrayed only as an angry and demanding judge are easily lured away by someone who emphasizes mercy. Those who see God as a kindhearted grandfather will reject that image when they need justice. Those who see God as an intellectual idea rather than a living, loving being eventually find other ideas more appealing. Those who see God as a best friend often leave Him behind when they find human friends who are more to their liking.

God declares Himself to be merciful and gracious, but also just in punishing the guilty (Ex. 34:6-7).

As we put our faith into action, we need to avoid portraying God as having only our favorite attributes. We must worship all of God, not just what we like. —Julie Ackerman Link

And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins

And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.
Mark 11:25

Don’t waste time holding onto anger toward someone who has wronged you. Forgive that person today.

John 20:23 warns, “If you forgive anyone his sins, they are forgiven; if you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven.” If you withhold forgiveness, you will be denied forgiveness as well.

I know you have reasons for not forgiving-someone hurt you too deeply, they did it on purpose, or they haven’t asked to be forgiven. Whatever your reason is, it isn’t listed as a condition for forgiveness in the Bible.

God knows your situation and He has still called you to forgive-no matter the circumstances. No one is perfect-everyone needs to be forgiven. Do not stand in the way of your own relationship with God by denying forgiveness to someone else.

Luke 6:37 says, “Forgive, and you will be forgiven.”

Offer forgiveness to those who have hurt you, even if they don’t deserve it. It may not change how you feel about what they did, but it will change you. It’s too important to your spiritual health to put off.

You are forgiven

You are forgiven

Matthew 9:2 says: “And, behold, they brought to him a man sick of the palsy, lying on a bed: and Jesus seeing their faith said unto the sick of the palsy; Son, be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven thee.” This verse does not tell us what sin this man had committed. It doesn’t tell us the depth of the depravity or the degree of darkness. It makes no mention of the condemnation or the shame of it, or the hurt that was caused to others. The only thing Jesus focused on was the faith of the man and his friends. He turned to the man and said, “Son, be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven thee.” I think that Jesus is in every one of our lives in the secret places of our shame, our condemnation, our brokenness, our remorse for hurting others, and the regret we cradle because we have not lived up to our own standards, let alone God‘s. We cringe inside because we have failed others, and we weep because we have failed ourselves. Just as Jesus said to this man, “Be of good cheer, your sins are forgiven“, so He wants you to be of good cheer today. He wants you to realize that He shed His blood for you, and you have received His forgiveness. Don’t let shame, condemnation, regret, remorse or anything else keep you back from standing up strong. Just stand up strong today and say, “I have been forgiven. I refuse to live in my yesterdays anymore.”

Don’t live in yesterday!

May the LORD bless Nigeria, American and Israel and take care of us; May the LORD make His face shine upon us, And be gracious to us; May the Lord lift up His countenance upon us, And give us peace, In Jesus Christ Name, we pray! Amen!

Own Up to Guilt

Own Up to Guilt

And the man said, The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat. And the Lord God said unto the woman,
What is this that thou hast done? And the woman said, “The serpent
beguiled me, and I did eat.”

Genesis 3:12, 13
Where sin is concerned, there is no difference between men and women.
Both are equally quick to pass off their guilt. This, too, is a
favourite tactic the enemy uses against believers. God is always
interested in honest confession, repentance and complete forgiveness,
but satan only wants us to point the finger in endless blame games that
combine guilt and shame with the sins of being a false witness and
judging one another.

Once God heard what Adam and Eve had to say, He dealt with each party
to the sin one by one. In Genesis 3:15, God began His judgment with the
father of lies and spoke prophetically that satan’s head would be
bruised by Eve’s seed (God’s seed in Jesus Christ). He told the devil
what was coming, but since satan has been stripped of his anointing, he
has also been stripped of his ability to receive revelation. He heard
what God said but didn’t have the revelation to fully understand the
plans of God.

Woman was deceived, but man made a wrong decision knowingly. Eve’s
error took womankind down a step in the social order and in physical
safety and comfort until Jesus restored her to her original position.
Adam’s sin took all mankind-male and female-straight to the grave. Once
again, it took the Son of God Himself to bring us to a glorious
resurrection.

Prayer for Today

Father,
You know me inside and out-You know everything about me. Thank You for
looking at me with love and forgiveness and for bringing Your truth and
light into all areas of my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

If anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous

READ: Zechariah 3:1-5

I have removed your iniquity from you. —Zechariah 3:4

The Devil and Daniel Webster” is a short story by Stephen Vincent Benet. In it, Jabez Stone, a New England farmer, has such “bad luck” that he sells his soul to the devil to become prosperous. Eventually, the devil comes to collect Jabez’s debt. But the eminent lawyer Daniel Webster is called in to defend him. Through a skillful series of arguments, Webster wins the case against the devil, and Jabez is saved from perdition.

Of course, this tale is only fiction. But the Bible records a vision in which Satan accuses a believer before the Divine Judge. Joshua, a high priest, stands before God. As a picture of his personal sin and guilt, the priest is dressed in filthy clothing. Nearby, Satan accuses Joshua. But the Angel of the Lord rebukes him and says to Joshua: “See, I have removed your iniquity from you, and I will clothe you with rich robes” (Zech. 3:4).

Only God can make a sinner acceptable to Him. And the New Testament tells us how: “If anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous” (1 John 2:1).

Give Every Day a Chance. Forgiveness!

"Forgiveness" by Carlos Latuff.

Give Every Day a Chance. Forgiveness!

But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. Matthew 6:20

A friend shared with me the fate of a hoarding grandmother.  She refused to part with anything.

She couldn’t rest because junk covered her bed.  She lost treasures because they were obscured by mountains of trash. Jewelry, photographs, favorite books—all were hidden.

No rest.  No treasures.

Squirrel away your hurts and expect the same.  Or clean your house and give the day a fresh chance!

“But” you say, “the hurt is so deep.”

I know, they took so much.

But why let them keep taking from you?  Haven’t they stolen enough?

“But, I’ve been so angry for so long.”

Forgiveness won’t come overnight.  But you can take the baby steps in the direction of grace.  Forgive in phases.

Quit cussing the perpetrator’s name.  Start praying for him; understand her.

Give the grace you’ve been given!  Make it a day changer!

Keep your heart with all diligence, For out of it spring the issues of life

Fill yourself with the Word & promises of God.

Proverbs 4:23 “Keep your heart with all diligence, For out of it spring the issues of life.”

When you are facing problems and frustrations in your life; it is so easy to start to criticize God and wonder if He really cares for you. It is during times like these that you need to guard your heart and not allow doubt and fear to enter. Fill yourself with the Word and promises of God so that when the difficult times come your heart is filled with God’s truth and His plan for that situation and challenge.

Do you despise the riches of His goodness, forbearance, and long-suffering, not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance? Romans 2:4

Jesus says—Give the grace you’ve been given!

Romans 2:4 says God is kind to you so you will change your hearts and lives.

We’re not to be like the unchanged wife. Before her conversion to Christ, she endlessly nagged, picked on, and berated her husband. When she became a Christian, nothing changed. One might question if she was truly born again to start with.

Forgiven people will forgive others. And they’ll be grateful—because gratitude is the joy of the forgiven servant.

We all choose what lives inside us.

Make it a day changer! Choose forgiveness!

Hallelujah! We now live in a time when all our debts to God have been cancelled and all the things the devil stole from us have been returned.

OUR DEBTS HAVE BEEN CANCELLED

Luke 4:19, “To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.”

LUKE 4:16-30

This scripture had been written prophetically by the prophet Isaiah about 650 years prior to this time. It was read in Jewish synagogues thousands of times. But the one this verse was speaking of had never spoken it before. With this pronouncement, Jesus began the year of Jubilee.

The Year of Jubilee was described in Leviticus 25. It was a year when everyone left their fields unworked and kept a sabbath unto the Lord. The Lord gave the people a miraculous provision the year before this jubilee started that sustained them for three years until their crops could once again be harvested.

This jubilee was different than the other sabbatical years in that every debt was cancelled. All property was returned to its original owner and anyone who had been sold into slavery was set free. It was a year of new beginnings.

Jesus proclaimed a spiritual jubilee. We now live in a time when all our debts to God have been cancelled and all the things the devil stole from us have been returned. Even our slavery to the devil has come to an end through the redemptive work of our Lord Jesus Christ. This is a time for rejoicing.

Jesus is our jubilee.

May Our God The Almighty prosper Nigeria and Israel and defend us from all our enemies in Jesus Christ Name, Amen!

Jesus is real. Blessed are they that have not seen and yet have believed

Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed (John 20:29)

A certain man hated everything about Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. His wife was a Christian but he wouldn’t let her go to church. One day, his wife went for a crusade close by, without telling him. He got furious and stormed the venue, combing through the crowd in search of his wife. Suddenly, a loud cry rent the air and everyone turned to see what had happened. They saw the man shouting, “He’s real! He’s real! Jesus is real!!!”  Apparently, Jesus had appeared to him and let him know sins were forgiven.

It took an appearance of Jesus to make the man believe, but he didn’t have to wait to experience something that spectacular for him to believe. It’s like the story of Thomas who didn’t believe the Lord had risen from the dead until He appeared to him (John 20:26-29).

You don’t have to wait to experience the spectacular before you believe God loves you and wants to fill your life with goodness and with benefits. The only evidence you need is His Word. Remember, the Bible says,Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen” (Hebrews 11:1). Don’t wait to have your pocket or bank account filled with a lot of money before you declare your prosperity in Christ Jesus! Don’t wait for the symptoms to disappear before you proclaim your healing! Declare that you have life, health, peace and joy NOW!, and your faith will produce results.

God Is Still Ever Ready To Forgive You Your Sins and Wash You Clean

“And when he was in affliction, he besought the Lord his God, and humbled himself greatly before the God of his fathers.” (Chronicles 33:12)

The story of Manasseh in 2 Chronicles 33:1-17, shows us what God’s mercy is all about. The mercy of God defies age, height, colour and most amazingly the enormity of man’s sin.

Manasseh was one of the proudest kings in the Bible. A man anointed to lead God’s people that ended up practising soothsaying, necromancy and witchcraft. He shed so much innocent blood. He built graven images and evil alters in the temple of the Lord. The scripture says Manasseh did abominable things even more wickedly than all the Amorites and the heathen nations. Judgement came upon Jerusalem and Manasseh.

Manasseh was taken captive to Babylon. The amazing thing here is when Manasseh humbled himself, the Lord had mercy on him and He delivered and restored Manasseh back to his throne in Judah.

It is very instructive to note at this juncture that no matter what you may have done in time past, God is still ever ready to forgive you your sins and wash you clean. What you only need to do is to let go of your pride and allow God’s mercy to reach your state of humility. He is waiting for you even right now!

God is ever ready to forgive a humble heart!

A broken a contrite heart God will not despise!
