Forgiveness.

Luke_6-37: Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven
Luke_6-37: Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven

Text:

Matthew 6:14-15
14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:
15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

Mark 11:25 NIV

And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.”

Matthew 18:21-35 New International Version (NIV)

The Parable of the Unmerciful Servant

21 Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me? Up to seven times?”

22 Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.[a]

23 “Therefore, the kingdom of heaven is like a king who wanted to settle accounts with his servants.

24 As he began the settlement, a man who owed him ten thousand bags of gold[b] was brought to him.

25 Since he was not able to pay, the master ordered that he and his wife and his children and all that he had be sold to repay the debt.

26 “At this the servant fell on his knees before him. ‘Be patient with me,’ he begged, ‘and I will pay back everything.’

27 The servant’s master took pity on him, canceled the debt and let him go.

28 “But when that servant went out, he found one of his fellow servants who owed him a hundred silver coins.[c] He grabbed him and began to choke him. ‘Pay back what you owe me!’ he demanded.

29 “His fellow servant fell to his knees and begged him, ‘Be patient with me, and I will pay it back.’

30 “But he refused. Instead, he went off and had the man thrown into prison until he could pay the debt.

31 When the other servants saw what had happened, they were outraged and went and told their master everything that had happened.

32 “Then the master called the servant in. ‘You wicked servant,’ he said, ‘I canceled all that debt of yours because you begged me to. 33 Shouldn’t you have had mercy on your fellow servant just as I had on you?’

34 In anger his master handed him over to the jailers to be tortured, until he should pay back all he owed.

35 “This is how my heavenly Father will treat each of you unless you forgive your brother or sister from your heart.”

Introduction:

God forgave man as a result of the death and the resurrection of Jesus Christ and He expects us to follow this good example.

Why do we need to forgive?

1. Without forgiveness there will be no answer to prayers.
Mark 11:26
But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.

2. So that the peace of God will abide with us
John 14:27
Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

3. So that it shall be well with us
Isaiah 3:10
Say ye to the righteous, that it shall be well with him: for they shall eat the fruit of their doings.

4. To have everlasting life
John 3:16
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

5. To have joy in our lives
John 15: 9-11
“As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love. These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.

6. To communicate freely with God
Galatians 4:6 (New International Version)
Because you are his sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, “Abba, Father.”

1-John_1-9: If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness
1-John_1-9: If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness

Conclusion:

It is God’s will for us to forgive one another so as to receive forgiveness from Him. If you have made a vow not to forgive anybody who might have offended you, Please forgive such a person now because tomorrow may be too late.

Thank You Jesus!

Religious Terrorism

Matthew_5-44: But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you
Matthew_5-44: But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you

Religious Terrorism is nearly as old as human kind. But never before has the world been confronted with this monstrous phenomenon on its current scale. From Nigeria’s once sleepy North East to Syria, Iraq, Pakistan, Somali, Kenya, Uganda, the world has been gripped in the throes of insurgency, kidnappings, anarchy and large scale destruction of lives and property. All in the name of god!

Not even Europe and America with their hi-tech counter-terrorism schemes have been spared the scourge of religious terrorism. Beside the notorious World Trade Centre (9/11) incident and isolated cases across the western world since then, religious terrorists seem to have scaled up their games with the 2015 attacks in Paris and Copenhagen. An even greater threat looms in the west with the increasing number of their citizens enlisting in the world’s deadliest jihadist movement Islamic State Syria and Iraq (ISIS). The fear is that some of them would one day return and put their art to work in their home nations – with dare consequences.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Global statistics show a steady increase in the number of attacks and deaths resulting from religious terrorism over the years. In Nigeria alone, Boko Haram which shares the ruthlessness and modus operandi of ISIS, has caused over 15,000 deaths and displaced more than two million people over the past decade.

To be sure, religious terrorism has its roots in the world’s major religions. They differ significantly, however, in the interpretation and application of their sacred books as well as the level of tolerance exhibited towards the adherents of competing faiths. Recent history shows that religious war of the forceful and violent kind is fast becoming the exclusive of one of the major religions to the extent that the condemnation of religious terrorism is now perceived as an attack against that faith.

Can the threat of religious terrorism be reduced or eliminated?

May God Bless Nigeria, America And Israel And Take Care Of Us; May God Make His Face Shine Upon Us, And Be Gracious To Us; May The Lord Lift Up His Countenance Upon Us, And Give Us Peace, In Jesus Christ Name, We Pray! Amen!

The Peace Of God. RCCG Open Heavens. Prayer Points And Sermon By Pastor E A Adeboye. Daddy G O

The Peace Of God. RCCG Open Heavens. Prayer Points And Sermon By Pastor E A Adeboye. Daddy G O

Memorise:
And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:7

Read:
Philippians 4:4-8

4 Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice.
5 Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.
6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Message

There is nothing tangible that can be achieved in an organisation, family or mind without a peaceful atmosphere. This is why when the world was characterised with chaos in Genesis 1:1-3, the first thing God did was to restore peace to the chaotic world. I pray that the peace of God will be your portion today in Jesus’ Name. There are factors that can guarantee peace in the life of an individual, particularly a child of God. One of them is contentment. 1 Timothy 6:6&10 says that:

“But godliness with contentment is great gain. For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.”

Many people lack peace because they are not contented with what they have. They dabble into some nefarious activities in search of the material things of this world which lead to stress related diseases. We must beware not to run after the material things of this world which do not bring satisfaction, or those things that attract undue responsibilities, or those things that hurt when they have flown away. Also, avoid the abuse of things which bring discomfort like piles or stomach aches and other illnesses to your body (Proverbs 25:16). How do you cultivate contentment? Contentment is developed when you endeavour to enjoy the present blessings of God in your life and give Him glory for such benefits (Ecclesiastes 5:18-19, Psalm 103:1-5).

“Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.”
Philippians 4:5-6

Other truths about having peace are revealed in this passage: One of such truths is that, to have the peace of God, you have to be moderate in your lifestyle without hypocrisy. Another is: do not be anxious for anything, or else you will lose your God-given peace. How then do you survive in a competitive world where the essential things of life are scarce? The next truth answers this: make your request known to God. He is Jehovah-Jireh, the Great Provider. He will meet you at the point of your needs. It is when we obey what the Holy Spirit admonishes us to do here that the peace of God will keep our hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. I pray for you that the peace of God will come mightily upon your troubled body, soul and spirit today in Jesus’ Name.

Prayer Point:
Pray for the peace of God to reign in your entire life, family, church and nation today.

Amen!

May The Grace The Lord Jesus Christ, And The Love Of God, And The Fellowship Of The Holy Spirit Be With You All. Amen!

I May Lose Weight, But I Can’t Lose God.

I May Lose Weight, But I Can’t Lose God.

Isaiah 54:10
‘For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but my kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed,’ saith the Lord that hath mercy on thee.

There are times when we feel God has left us to struggle on our own. No matter how we pray, how we plead, it seems no help will come to us. The temptations mount, and our strength and will-power get weaker and weaker. This is where faith comes in. In those times we feel God is absent from us, we must believe that He is still there. God will never leave us, no matter how we may feel. He stays constant for His children. Nothing can move God from our hearts, and we need to know that. God will give us strength in time of need. He will not abandon us, ever.

Today’s thought: I may lose weight, but I can’t lose God.

Amen!

May The Grace The Lord Jesus Christ, And The Love Of God, And The Fellowship Of The Holy Spirit Be With You All. Amen!

God’s Remembrance And Deliverance III. RCCG Open Heavens. Prayer Points, Action Points And Sermon By Pastor E A Adeboye. Daddy G O

Memorise:
Remember me, O my God, for good.
Nehemiah 13:31b

Read:
1 Samuel 1:17-19

17 Then Eli answered and said, Go in peace: and the God of Israel grant thee thy petition that thou hast asked of him.
18 And she said, Let thine handmaid find grace in thy sight. So the woman went her way, and did eat, and her countenance was no more sad.
19 And they rose up in the morning early, and worshipped before the LORD, and returned, and came to their house to Ramah: and Elkanah knew Hannah his wife; and the LORD remembered her.

Message

One truth the children of God must continue to remember is that it takes divine remembrance to daily experience deliverance in their lives and ministries. The best way to explain this is to interpret “remembrance” as “attention”, because God is never forgetful. In Isaiah 49:15 God said:
“Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee.”
So, God does not forget, but He may decide to ignore you if you continue to live in sin.

One person that experienced divine remembrance was Hannah. The Lord remembered Hannah by paying attention to her prayer in answer to Eli’s prayer. 1 Samuel 1:17 says:
“Then Eli answered and said, Go in peace: and the God of Israel grant thee thy petition that thou hast asked of him.”
Hannah was under the bondage of barrenness for several years, but when God remembered her, she was delivered from the bondage of unfruitfulness. To someone using this devotional, I pray that the Almighty will remember and deliver you from all forms of bondage today in Jesus’ Name. Let us learn from Hannah what she did to draw divine attention to herself and her situation. First, she prayed earnestly and fasted for God’s attention. At times we need to demonstrate our seriousness concerning what we really want God to do for us by embarking on prayer and fasting. Jesus taught His disciples this truth in Mark 9:29. In addition, for God to remember you in your unpleasant situation, you have to cooperate with Him by playing your own role. My experiences have revealed to me the mistakes some children of God make as they expect God to play their own roles together with His. This ended at Calvary where God suffered as a man, but there He declared: IT IS FINISHED. If you are looking for a job, write applications and go out to attend interviews because God will not write an application letter for you, neither will He attend the interview on your behalf. Sufficient is the fact that He will back you up during the interview. The Bible reveals something that many may not pay attention to which, of course, was fundamental to the divine remembrance of Hannah. What is it? 1 Samuel 1:19d says that:
“……and Elkanah knew Hannah his wife; and the LORD remembered her.”
What could have happened to Hannah’s prayer if she and her husband did not play their part in this regard? Beloved, let us cooperate with God, He will remember us for good in Jesus’ Name.

Action Point:
Pray, fast and take steps under the guidance of the Holy Spirit concerning that situation that is bothering you. You will experience divine remembrance and deliverance.

Amen!

May The Grace The Lord Jesus Christ, And The Love Of God, And The Fellowship Of The Holy Spirit Be With You All. Amen!

Missing Malaysia Airlines Plane Found! Officials Say Missing Malaysia Airlines Plane ‘Ended In The Southern Indian Ocean’ By COLLEEN CURRY | Good Morning America.

Missing Malaysia Airlines Plane Found! Officials Say Missing Malaysia Airlines Plane ‘Ended In The Southern Indian Ocean’ By COLLEEN CURRY | Good Morning America.

Missing Malaysia Flight 370: Debris Spotted in Indian Ocean
New satellite data reveals that missing Malaysian Airlines Flight 370 “ended” its journey in a “remote location” of the southern Indian Ocean, Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak said today.

“This is a remote location, far from any possible landing sites. It is therefore with deep sadness and regret that I must inform you that, according to this new data, flight MH370 ended in the southern Indian Ocean,” a somber Razak said during a media briefing.

The jet vanished March 8 with 289 people on board after it took off from Kuala Lampur bound for Beijing.

The announcement follows weeks of searches that spanned the South China Sea, Strait of Malacca and finally the south Indian Ocean off of Australia as authorities tried to figure out what happened to the plane.
The new information came from British satellite maker Inmarsat, which used a new type of analysis never before used to try and pinpoint the plane’s last known location, Razak said.

“[Inmarsat] has been performing calculations on the data using type of analysis never before used in an investigation of this sort and they have been able to shed more light on MH370. Based on the new analysis, Inmarsat and the (British) Accidents Investigation Branch have concluded that MH370 flew along the southern corridor and that it’s last position was in the middle of the Indian Ocean, west of Perth,” Razak said.

He noted that Malaysia Airlines had already been in touch with the families of the 289 people on board, saying that he knew the past few weeks had been “heart breaking” for them and that this latest development must be harder still.

Earlier today, an Australian plane spotted two objects described as gray or green and “circular” as well as orange and “rectangular” in the search area off Australia’s coast.

Other search crews had spotted “suspicious objects” in the Indian Ocean over the weekend — including items believed to be wooden pallets. The Malaysian government said that the missing Boeing 777-200 had been carrying wooden pallets, were not yet sure whether the pallets matched.

No wreckage has yet to be recovered.

Investigators are still trying to determine what happened to the plane after it took off around midnight from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, headed for Beijing, China. It disappeared off the radar shortly after 1 a.m. but continued to fly, according to satellite data, for up to seven hours.

Malaysian authorities are considering the possibilities of hijacking, sabotage, terrorism or issues related to the mental health of the pilots.

May God Bless Malaysia, Nigeria, America And Israel And Take Care Of Us; May God Make His Face Shine Upon Us, And Be Gracious To Us; May The Lord Lift Up His Countenance Upon Us, And Give Us Peace, In Jesus Christ Name, We Pray! Amen!

Jesus Christ, The Son Of God

Jesus Christ, The Son Of God

John 20:30-31

In today’s verses, John wants us to know that “Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God” (v. 31). But why is it so important that we believe He is God’s Son?

The most obvious reason is because our salvation, and therefore our eternal destiny, depends upon our faith in this truth. But after salvation, Christ’s divine identity should continue to affect us.

For one thing, knowing the Son leads to a deeper understanding of the Father. Since Jesus is both God and man, He is uniquely qualified to provide us with such insight. As we study His life, the aspects of God’s character and ways that are difficult for our human minds to grasp come to life through Christ’s teaching and example.

He also shows us who we can become. The Lord is committed to transforming each of His followers into the likeness of His Son. Though we won’t reach perfection in this life or ever attain Christ’s divine attributes, His character can be worked out in us as we yield to the Holy Spirit. Jesus is our example for godly attitudes, words, and actions.

Another way Christ affects us is by inspiring our gratitude. He left the glories of heaven in order to become our Saviour, and when we recognize that sacrifice, we are filled with thankfulness and praise.

Let Jesus motivate you to live in purity. He abides within every believer through His indwelling Holy Spirit. That means selfish and sinful thoughts, attitudes, words, and actions have no place in our lives. Be mindful that He is always with you, and let Him direct your choices and purify your life.

God is Merciful. The Hindu Man And The Ants.

God is Merciful. The Hindu Man And The Ants.

“I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved.”

(John 10:9)

A Hindu man heard about Jesus, but he could not comprehend how the great Creator God of the universe could stoop to become a human being. He wondered why God would want to humble Himself to that extent. Because of his religious background, this man had a profound reverence for life. One day as he was walking in a field, he came upon an anthill. He stopped in wonder to observe the activity of these amazing creatures.

Suddenly, he heard the noise of a tractor plowing the fields. He looked up and saw that the plow would soon destroy that anthill. The ants’ home would be gone and thousands would be killed. He was frantic. He wanted to save them. He thought, I could write a warning in the dirt, but they would not know how to read it. I could shout to them, but they would not know what I was saying. The only possible way I could communicate with them would be to become an ant myself!

In that moment he saw why God, the Creator of the universe, had made such an incredible sacrifice to become one of us. The God-Man, our Lord Jesus Christ, died on the cross to save us from being plowed under by sin.

Jesus is the object of our faith. He is truly worthy of our trust. By placing our faith in Christ, we received not only the blessings He has planned for us, but His very life. Paul tells us, “It is through faith that a righteous person has life.” (Galatians 3:11)

Every time you see an anthill, think about that Hindu man, and thank God for His mercy in sending Jesus to rescue us from destruction.

Ephesians 2:8-9

Because God is merciful,

He forgives me of my sins when I sincerely confess them.

Is your heart burning with shame and guilt? The Look of Jesus

Is your heart burning with shame and guilt? The Look of Jesus

While [Peter] was still speaking, the rooster crowed. And the Lord turned and looked at Peter. . . . So Peter went out and wept bitterly.

Luke 22:60-62, NKJV

The night Jesus was betrayed, a man stepped up to Peter in the courtyard of the temple compound and challenged him: “Didn’t I see you with [Jesus] in the olive grove?” (John 18:26, NIV). All the tension and anger of the past hours exploded in Peter and tumbled out in a stream of curses as he insisted, “I don’t know the man!” Yet as he spoke, he heard the unmistakable sound of a rooster crowing in the distance. At that very moment, a commotion in the breezeway got everyone’s attention. With the denial still burning his lips, Peter looked into the eyes of Jesus!

The look of Jesus was like a flaming fire, burning away Peter’s hypocrisy and sin. Then as the entourage around Jesus roughly pushed and shoved Him forward, the moment passed. Peter, shaken to the core of his being, went out into the night, where he “wept bitterly,” sobbing out his confession to God.

Three days later, Peter knew his sin had been forgiven when he met the risen Christ. Do you have the uneasy feeling that Jesus is “looking” at you? Is your heart burning with shame and guilt? Don’t shed tears, shed your pride and come to Him for cleansing and restoration.

2 The fountains also of the deep and the windows of heaven were stopped, and the rain from heaven was restrained;

3 And the waters returned from off the earth continually: and after the end of the hundred and fifty days the waters were abated.

4 And the ark rested in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, upon the mountains of Ararat.

Message

When the world was in enmity with God and He decided to destroy it by a flood, Noah found favour in the sight of the Lord according to Genesis 6:5-8. Though Noah and his family escaped from the flood, they were however caged in the ark, which of course would have become something else after some days of eating and passing of body waste in the ark. God remembered Noah and all the living things with him in the ark. May the Good Lord remember you for good today in Jesus’ Name. There are some revelations we can catch in this story. One of such is that when God remembers an individual in trouble and bondage, the following things would happen: the wind of the Holy Spirit will blow away all the challenging situations (Genesis 8:1); the terrible waters will be dried up and the fellow will escape being drowned (Genesis 8:2). Moreover, the tempestuous life will become peaceful (Genesis 8:4).

Beloved of the Lord, there are conditions for God’s remembrance to facilitate deliverance as experienced by Noah and his family. One of such conditions is godly living, even in the midst of a perverted generation of men. It is a pity that many children of God in the 21st century live ungodly lives with the excuse that the world is perverted. Jesus Christ said Noah will be a witness against these so-called children of God who would attribute their worldly and ungodly living to the fact that their world was ungodly (Matthew 24:37-39). Pay attention to God’s testimony concerning Noah:

“And the LORD said unto Noah, Come thou and all thy house into the ark; for thee have I seen righteous before me in this generation.”

Genesis 6:9

Another of these conditions is a life of worship. God must see in you the desire to worship Him before He can remember you for good, because He is a prudent investor (Genesis 8:20-22). I pray for you that the Almighty God will remember you for deliverance today in Jesus’ Name. Please ensure you live a godly life and cultivate the habit of intense worship. You will then experience divine remembrance.

Prayer Point:

Father, remember me this day and deliver me from all my oppressors in Jesus’ Name.

Promoting Unity

                                   Promoting Unity

READ: Proverbs 6:16-19

The Lord hates . . . one who sows discord among brethren. —Proverbs 6:16,19

The language of Proverbs 6:16-19 is strong. In the citing of seven things the Lord hates, sowing “discord among brethren” makes the list. The reason for naming this sin is that it spoils the unity that Christ desires for His followers (John 17:21-22).

Those who sow discord may not initially set out to create divisions. They may be preoccupied instead with their personal needs or the interests of a group they belong to (James 4:1-10). Consider how Lot’s herdsmen argued with those of Abraham (Gen. 13:1-18); Christ’s disciples argued about personal preeminence (Luke 9:46); and divisive groups in the church at Corinth elevated party factions above the unity of the Spirit (1 Cor. 3:1-7).

So what is the best way to promote unity? It begins with the transformation of the heart. When we adopt the mind of Christ, we develop an attitude of humility and we focus on service toward others (Phil. 2:5-11). Only in Him can we access the power to “look out not only for [our] own interests, but also for the interests of others” (v.4). Soon the needs and hopes of others become more important to us than our own.

With growing bonds of love among us, we find discord replaced with joy and unity (see Ps. 133:1). —Dennis Fisher

Like a mighty army moves the church of God;

Brothers, we are treading where the saints have trod.

We are not divided, all one body we—

One in hope and doctrine, one in charity. —Baring-Gould

We can accomplish more together than we can alone.

Insight

King Solomon lists seven sins that are detestable to God (vv.17-19). Contrary to popular understanding, he isn’t saying that there are only seven specific sins that God hates. In the Bible, the “six . . . seven” numerical pattern is a literary device called number parallelism. It is also used in Job 5:19 and Proverbs 30:15-16,18-19,21-31. This pattern does not give a complete list but instead lays out all items equally and then emphasizes the final one. In this case, the final item—“one who sows discord among brethren” (v.19)—is the focus of God’s wrath. Proverbs 6:17-19 describes this person as proud and evil in his heart, sowing discord by his unjust actions and deceptive words.
