You Are Blessed!
“And the angel of the Lord appeared unto him, and said unto him, The Lord is with thee, thou mighty man of valour.” Judges 6:12 (KJV)
As a believer you are blessed not because of how much money you have in your pocket but by virtue of your being in Christ. The fact that you know that you are already blessed will produce blessings. Things are not the blessing. Things are just the residue that comes out of the endowment called THE BLESSING. You ought to wake up every day before you go out with a big smile and declare that you are blessed. See that you are blessed! Wherever you go, you will attract favour. That is what God wants from us.
When you read the Bible and understand the scriptures, they will heal you of every condemnation, sense of inferiority, self-rejection, and intimidation. The Bible will create boldness in you. Understand this: what the word of God sets to do is to emphasize your strengths. The word does not emphasize your weaknesses, because when you become pregnant with your strengths, they will subdue your weaknesses. But what the devil does is magnify your weaknesses in an attempt to minimize your strengths. And as long as you allow that to happen, you will always remain low. That is why God looks at you and announces your strengths. He looked at Peter and He said, “Thou art a rock.” He looked at Gideon, hiding to thresh wheat, and called him a mighty man of valour. That is why Paul said, “Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh” (2 Corinthians 5:16, KJV). In other words, I have seen that you are strong in the spirit. I declare that you are strong.
Even when you are falling, wake up in the morning and declare that sin shall not have dominion over you. Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. So emphasize your strengths. Understand that the Bible is a living book and read it with understanding. It is not a religious book. Don’t put it in the same class as other religious books or categorize it as philosophy or psychology. It is a living book. It is a book of life and it is meant to determine your lifestyle.
16 He went to Nazareth, where he had been brought up, and on the Sabbath day he went into the synagogue, as was his custom. He stood up to read,
17 and the scroll of the prophet Isaiah was handed to him. Unrolling it, he found the place where it is written:
18 “The Spirit of the Lord is on me,
because he has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners
and recovery of sight for the blind,
to set the oppressed free,
19 to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”[a]
20 Then he rolled up the scroll, gave it back to the attendant and sat down. The eyes of everyone in the synagogue were fastened on him.
21 He began by saying to them, “Today this scripture is fulfilled in your hearing.”
22 All spoke well of him and were amazed at the gracious words that came from his lips. “Isn’t this Joseph’s son?” they asked.
John the Baptist Denies Being the Messiah
19 Now this was John’s testimony when the Jewish leaders[a] in Jerusalem sent priests and Levites to ask him who he was.
20 He did not fail to confess, but confessed freely, “I am not the Messiah.”
21 They asked him, “Then who are you? Are you Elijah?”
He said, “I am not.”
“Are you the Prophet?”
He answered, “No.”
22 Finally they said, “Who are you? Give us an answer to take back to those who sent us. What do you say about yourself?”
23 John replied in the words of Isaiah the prophet, “I am the voice of one calling in the wilderness, ‘Make straight the way for the Lord.’”[b]
24 Now the Pharisees who had been sent
25 questioned him, “Why then do you baptize if you are not the Messiah, nor Elijah, nor the Prophet?”
26 “I baptize with[c] water,” John replied, “but among you stands one you do not know.
27 He is the one who comes after me, the straps of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie.”
