Bible Study. The Danger Of Rebellion.

Psalms_119-11: Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.

Psalms_119-11: Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.

The word “REBEL,” or a form of it, is used in the Bible 98 times.

What Does Rebellion Mean.

Refusal to come under the authority of someone who is above you. In Biblical
terms, it almost always refers to man rebelling against God.

Rebellion Is An Open Door To Demonic Bondage.

God HATES rebellion, and says in (1 Sam 15:23). It is as the sin of WITCHCRAFT.

The Bible Also Says These Things About Rebellion.

(Isa 63:10) Rebellion grieves the Holy Spirit and causes Him your enemy and fight
against you.

Rebellion Cuts A Person Off From God.

God’s Word is clear that rebellion is a great way to find yourself in dry land spiritually:

Psalms 68:6, “…the rebellious dwell in a dry land.”

Proverbs 20:20, “Whoso curseth his father or his mother, his lamp shall be put out in obscure darkness.”
Exodus 20:12: Honour Your father and mother that your days may be long upon the land which the Lord your God is giving you.
Colossians 3:20 – Children, obey [your] parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord

It’s not uncommon in churches for people to challenge the authority of the senior pastor. Sometimes the challenge is from an associate pastor, sometimes from a long-time member of the church who struggles to retain power in the church and can’t submit to the pastor’s authority.
“Do not touch my anointed ones; do my prophets no harm.” (Psalm 105:15; 2 Chronicles 16:22)

Reward For Obedience.

Isaiah 1:19-20
If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat of the good of the land:
20 But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword; For the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it.

In Addition, Many People Rebelled In The Bible, And Paid A Great Price For Doing So.

Saul was removed from being king and the Holy Spirit withdrew from him
1 Samuel 13-16.
King Saul paid a high price for his disobedience. Not only did the Spirit depart from him, but he also became mentally disturbed. Consumed with jealousy and bitterness, Saul spent his life chasing David.

Lucifer was cast out of Heaven.
Isaiah 14:12-21
Ezekiel 28:11-19.

Jonah was swallowed by a great fish.

Shemaiah’s descendants were removed.
Jeremiah 29:32.

When the Israelites let fear prevent them from fighting for Canaan, God judged that generation and allowed them to die off in the wilderness.
Numbers 13-14.
Spying Out the Land.
Numbers 13:1-25

In fact, the Bible tells us that there comes a time, when if a person remains in unrepentant sin, we should (1 Cor 5:5) deliver such a one to Satan for the destruction of the flesh that (his) spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.
(Also see: 1 Tim 1:18-20).

Thank You Jesus.
