Happy Students Of Jesus Christ

Ephesians_2-10: For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

Ephesians_2-10: For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”

Ephesians 2:10

Imagine the journey of the disciples. How odd the evolution of that journey would have been. When Jesus picks his disciples, he’s a great rabbi, and to pick these particular guys was somewhat weird. Normally, a rabbi would pick people who are in rabbinic training or some kind of educational process. Jesus went to regular, normal Joes. He went up to fishermen, contractors, builders, regular blue-collar workers, and a tax collector. And he said, “Follow me.”

John_15-16: Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you

John_15-16: Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you

Those words had a lot of weight to those he chose. It meant that he wanted each one to become his disciple, and to become a disciple of a great rabbi was a huge honor. It would be like the president of Harvard University going to one of our local high schools and picking twelve “C” students, saying to them, “I want you to spend three years with me, and then I’m going to make you all professors of various sciences at Harvard University.” That’s how bizarre Jesus’ invitation to these twelve disciples really was.

And it wasn’t going to end there. They would actually find in that three-year period of discipleship that Jesus was much more than a rabbi. He goes from being a rabbi to a prophet to a super prophet to being the Son of God. That’s what we experience, too, as we come to know, accept, and grow in our Lord as happy students of Jesus.

Prayer: Dear Lord, like the ordinary Joes You chose to serve as Your disciple, You chose me. Thank You for this most extraordinary life-saving blessing. Amen

May God Bless Nigeria, America And Israel And Take Care Of Us; May God Make His Face Shine Upon Us, And Be Gracious To Us; May The Lord Lift Up His Countenance Upon Us, And Give Us Peace, In Jesus Christ Name, We Pray! Amen!

May The Grace The Lord Jesus Christ, And The Love Of God, And The Fellowship Of The Holy Spirit Be With You All. Amen!
