Outcome Of Consistent Walking With Christ Jesus

Galatians_6-9: And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not

Galatians_6-9: And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not

Text: Galatians 6:9-10

“9 And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. 10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.”

INTRODUCTION: God expected us to be consistent in our walk with Him. There are benefits in being consistent.

BENEFIT OF CONSISTENT WALKING

i.It is never easy to catch up with a man who never stops moving forward. –

Philippians 3:13-14
“13 Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.”

ii. If you keep walking, you will soon leave competitors behind.

1 Corinthians 9:24
“24 Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it.”

iii. You will become the envy of those who did not start walking or who stopped walking. –

Genesis 26:12-14
“12 Then Isaac sowed in that land, and reaped in the same year a hundredfold; and the Lord blessed him. 13 The man began to prosper, and continued prospering until he became very prosperous; 14 for he had possessions of flocks and possessions of herds and a great number of servants. So the Philistines envied him.”

iv. Be persistent and consistent in loading your cloud by giving good seed and soon the abundance of rain will come.-
Eccl. 11:3
If the clouds are full of rain, They empty themselves upon the earth; And if a tree falls to the south or the north, In the place where the tree falls, there it shall lie.

1 Kings 18:41 -46
“41 Then Elijah said to Ahab, “Go up, eat and drink; for there is the sound of abundance of rain.” 42 So Ahab went up to eat and drink. And Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; then he bowed down on the ground, and put his face between his knees, 43 and said to his servant, “Go up now, look toward the sea.” So he went up and looked, and said, “There is nothing.” And seven times he said, “Go again.” 44 Then it came to pass the seventh time, that he said, “There is a cloud, as small as a man’s hand, rising out of the sea!” So he said, “Go up, say to Ahab, ‘Prepare your chariot, and go down before the rain stops you.’” 45 Now it happened in the meantime that the sky became black with clouds and wind, and there was a heavy rain. So Ahab rode away and went to Jezreel.”

Those who stop moving usually end up as “Has been”, “Ex-this”, “Former champion”, “Quenched light”,” shes”, etc. –

Those who will not keep walking always, end up as mere observers of those who write history.

They remain dormant. –

2Kings 2:15
“15 Now when the sons of the prophets who were from Jericho saw him, they said, “The spirit of Elijah rests on Elisha.” And they came to meet him, and bowed to the ground before him.”.

CONCLUSION: Keep moving forward in pleasing God and your reward is great.
