“The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints.”
Ephesians 1:18 (KJV)
It is not enough to know the name of Christ or to become a believer. You should grow until you get to the top of the strong tower. Abimelech, as documented in Judges 9, was at the bottom of the strong tower. That was why a woman was able to drop a stone upon his head from the top of the tower.
Abimelech was terrorizing everyone around him, and God decided against giving Abimelech the privilege of being killed by a man; instead, he was killed by a woman, whose sex is known for being “weak”. The woman was at the top of the tower, indicating that she knew her rights and position in Christ. This gave her the boldness to throw the stone that broke Abimelech’s skull. This incident was a victory over Satan, which Jesus won by destroying the devil’s hold over our lives. A new believer who understands his place in Christ has the ability to disarm the devil no matter how strong the devil thinks he is. Some of you don’t know that the devil is afraid of you. When he wakes up in the morning he is nervous and for this reason you should wake up in the morning and be excited, knowing that you can teach the devil a lesson.
During His ministry here on earth, did you know that whenever Jesus woke up in the morning all of hell was in trouble? Any time Jesus woke up, hell was certainly not clapping but running about here and there in confusion. The devil understood that it was another day of trouble. And so should it be with us as believers. The devil is not the one troubling you; you are the one troubling him. He was not given the right to trouble you or make you feel afraid. He can only do so if you are ignorant of your rights in Christ. That is why you must make the decision not to remain a baby; instead, grow, and as you do, I declare you a terror to the devil. You are a winner in Jesus’s name.
