Deuteronomy 8:7, 10 (NKJV)
For the Lord your God is bringing you into a good land, a land of brooks of water, of fountains and springs, that flow out of valleys and hills;
When you have eaten and are full, then you shall bless the Lord your God for the good land which He has given you.
It is always the Lord’s objective to bring us into something good. God has not supplied us with just enough to get along. Notice, this passage says, “When you have eaten and are full…”
The children of Israel could choose to eat until they were full. Some people believe that is wrong because of the starvation that is in the world, but it isn’t. When we are blessed with abundance, God wants us to give. More than that, He prospers us so we can be a channel to get the gospel to them so they will not suffer hunger physically or spiritually.
Deuteronomy 8:18 says, “And you shall remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which he swore to your fathers, as it is this day.”
What is the power God gives us? It’s faith. By faith we get riches to establish His covenant. This means we use the wealth to spread the gospel by causing the heathen to envy us too much that they will want what we have, THE LORD JESUS CHRIST!
