I Am The Righteousness Of God In Christ Jesus
“For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.”
2 Corinthians 5:21 (KJV)
Beloved, I want to let you know that there are revelations in the scripture that you must establish yourself in. You have to be established in the consciousness of righteousness because if you are not, you can carry twenty Bibles into church and still see the devil make mincemeat out of you. The devil can jump into your mind and pocket and handle things the way he wants while you claim you are a Christian.
To be established is to be found in something. If you write your name in the sand at the beach, for example, the waves will wash it away. But if you write it in concrete, it cannot be washed away. Most Christians are writing their confidence on sand and when the waves of life come, it is carried away. That is why you must be rooted, fixed, formed, and set like concrete in the Word of God. It is a position you must settle into by making a permanent, once-and-for-all decision. To be established also means to stick to something. It means to be secured. It means to be entrenched and implanted.
Righteousness is the correct image for the believer, and that is what the devil attacked in the Garden of Eden. The devil wants you to be ruined by your circumstances but God wants you to ride over those circumstances. God wants you to take charge of your situation. As long as you understand that you are created in the image of God you will function like God. It is your understanding of your righteousness that makes you stand out. You can be in the storm but the storm is not in you.
The enemy wants to destroy your understanding of righteousness so that you will begin to think that you have to do right to be righteous. That is backwards thinking. You become righteous simply by receiving it as a gift. You receive it by accepting what Jesus Christ did on the cross because by your own strength you cannot do right.
