“Bless those who persecute you (who are cruel in their attitude toward you); bless and do not curse them.” Romans 12:14 (AMP)
Sometimes, the world operates with a “tit for tat” mentality. You get me and I’ll get you back. You hurt me and I’ll hurt you back. How many times has someone wronged you and you thought you just couldn’t let them get away with that? Wrong is wrong and surely God knows that, but God doesn’t want you to take matters into your own hands. The depiction of how we are supposed to operate in these difficult situations is to follow Jesus’ example. The Word of God says to celebrate and speak well of those who are hostile against you and have a cruel attitude toward you. God instructs you to bless them and not to invoke evil upon them.
Jesus endured ridicule, pain, harshness, mistreatment, and injustice from His enemies. While, He had the power and ability to inflict the same harm on them, He chose not to. In fact in the midst of the worst time of His life, He demonstrated the love of God by asking His Father to bless his enemies.
The enemy Devil will use people as instruments to commit wrongs against you. You must remember, you’re in a spiritual battle that can only be won in the spiritual realm. God said in His Word that your fight is not with flesh and blood. Retaliating against people for hurting you is not His way; instead you must speak positively about your enemies. You have to look past them in the natural and bless them, anyhow! Declare out of your mouth that something good is going to happen to them. Proclaim that goodness and mercy are following them. Use your words as containers of power to change the situation for the better.
God, thank You for sending Your Son to be Your Word in the flesh. Lord, help me to have the strength to endure the tests and trials. I trust You and I know acting according to Your Word will not only bless me, but bless others, even my enemies. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
May God Bless Nigeria, America And Israel And Take Care Of Us; May God Make His Face Shine Upon Us, And Be Gracious To Us; May The Lord Lift Up His Countenance Upon Us, And Give Us Peace, In Jesus Christ Name, We Pray! Amen!
