Text: 1 Thessalonians 4:1-8

 

 

 

 

 

INTRODUCTION: The Christian journey is that of pilgrimage to the kingdom of Heaven, It requires constant and continuous walking. It will be a nice thing to go on the journey with God. He will be the one to dictate the terms.You can never regret total obedience.

 

 

 

Psalms_1-3: And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper

IMPORTANT HINTS

 

 

 

  1. Learn from the mistakes of others to avoid the scars after a fall. 2 Corinthians.10:5-12.

 

 

  1. Listen to the advice of elders who have walked the way before, because of their experience. –

 

 

 

Job 32:7 “I said, Days should speak, and multitude of years should teach wisdom.”.

 

 

 

 

iii. Stay away from slippery grounds because those who walked on slippery grounds will fall. Avoid unholy companies. –

 

 

 

 

Psalm. 1:1 “Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.”,

 

 

 

 

Amos 3:3 “Can two walk together, except they be agreed?”,

 

 

 

 

Proverbs. 21:16 “The man that wandereth out of the way of understanding shall remain in the congregation of the dead.”.

 

 

 

 

  1. Do not look back.-

 

 

 

Philippians.3:13-14 “Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,”.

 

 

 

 

  1. Avoid overconfidence. –

 

 

 

1 Corinthians. 10:12 “Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.”,

CONCLUSION: A word is enough for the wise. His grace will be sufficient for you.

 

 

 

 

 

PRAYER POINTS:  

  1. Thank God for His sustaining grace in your walk with Him.
  2. Father, the grace to keep walking and not to be weary and not to fall, give to me
  3. Father, let me run the Christian race well and finish well.
