Text: Ezekiel 37:1-10
Introduction: There is no revival without the breath of the Spirit of God. 1 Corinthians 3:1; 1 Corinthians 5:1-8. The noise of singing, clapping and drumming, coming together in the fellowship centre (though good in the sight of the Lord), is not to be mistaken for personal revival.
Ezekiel 37:7-8 “So I prophesied as I was commanded: and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and behold a shaking, and the bones came together, bone to his bone. And when I beheld, lo, the sinews and the flesh came up upon them, and the skin covered them above: but there was no breath in them.”
THE PRICE FOR PERSONAL REVIVAL
Personal revival comes from God through the Holy Spirit. The effects of a personal revival are:
1. Fervent prayer of faith.
James 5:16: “Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.”
1 Thessalonians 5:17 “Pray without ceasing.”
2. Spiritual refreshing like the morning dew
3. Vision for missions, power for service, genuine repentance and conversion.
Acts 8:4: “Therefore they that were scattered abroad went everywhere preaching the word.”
Acts 5:12-16: “And by the hands of the apostles were many signs and wonders wrought among the people; (and they were all with one accord in Solomon’s porch. And of the rest durst no man join himself to them: but the people magnified them. And believers were the more added to the Lord, multitudes both of men and women. Insomuch that they brought forth the sick into the streets, and laid them on beds and couches, that at the least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them. There came also a multitude out of the cities round about unto Jerusalem, bringing sick folks, and them which were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed everyone.”
There is, however, a price to pay which includes among others:
Matthew 16:24 “Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.”
2. Renewed consecration and fervent prayer with necessary confessions and restitution.
Romans 12:1-2: “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”
Conclusion: God is willing to revive you. Are you willing to pay the price?
