What Is Child Sexual Abuse? Lola’s Story

What Is Child Sexual Abuse? Lola’s Story

Children Series Part 1 [8+]

Lola is usually taken to school by their driver. Sometimes on her way to school, the driver would touch her breast. On other days, the driver tells Lola to touch his private body part. She was scared because the driver threatened to kill her if she tells anyone. Lola couldn’t tell her parents because she didn’t want to die. When Lola read a book about child sexual abuse, then she knew what the driver was doing to her was wrong. She told her father and the driver was arrested by the police.

Child sexual abuse occurs when someone older than the child – such as an adult, an older child or a teenager touches your genitals, breast, buttocks or any other private part of the body. This touch can make you feel uncomfortable and funny.

It is sexual abuse when an adult rubs his or her body against you in a sexual way or tries to tongue-kiss you.

Sexual abuse also occurs when an adult shows you his or her naked body, or ask you to touch or play with his or her private body part.

Child sexual abuse takes place when an adult takes off his/her clothes or ask you to take off your clothes with the intention of looking at or touching your private body part; or an adult peeps to watch you having your bath.

Child sexual abuse also happens when a grown up shows you pornographic pictures (e.g. photograph, magazines, films or other materials with sexual scenes) or when someone takes your picture without your clothes on.

It also involves a grown up forcefully having sex with a child. This act is known as Rape. Sexual abuse can also be called Molestation, Assault or Violation.

Incest: This occurs when a child is sexually abused by a blood relative such as a parent, step-parent, grant-parent, uncle, aunty, cousin, brother or sister. Sexual abuse is bad. It destroys you.

May the LORD bless Nigeria, American and Israel and take care of us; May the LORD make His face shine upon us, And be gracious to us; May the Lord lift up His countenance upon us, And give us peace, In Jesus Christ Name, we pray! Amen!

  4. There are many forms of child sexual abuse, and I think you have intelligently illustrated the different forms very well. Not everyone knows what is technically considered to be “Child Sexual Abuse”, but even the taking off of clothing with a sexual intention is abuse. Children should never be exposed to such a violation. Our organisation is called White Balloon Support. We aim to inform, alert and direct people to the social issue of child sexual assault to help prevent and support those who had to endure it. Check out our blog – http://whiteballoonsupport.wordpress.com/
